Other Toy Lines / Re: The Official 21st Century Toys Thread

I picked up a 1:18 scale F-86 Sabre at the E Lancaster WM and I have to say this is an excellent plane. I appreciate the details like the airbrakes and double hinged nose wheel door, but the gun access doors  and the "real" cloth restraining harness was a pleasant surprise. The plane came with 2 each optional drop tanks and sidewinders complete with rails, but I prefer to display my fighters clean.

21st gives you all this and more at 5 bucks cheaper than the overpriced TRU Tie. Makes me dream of  the possibilities if they took over the SW Basic figure scale vehicle line.

Wish list
Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star
Republic F-84F Thunderstreak
Grumman F-9F Cougar
Sikorsky H-5
Bell 47G
Bell X-1

The Original Trilogy / The Star Wars 30th Aniversary DVD set
« on: October 4, 2006, 04:57 PM »
TheForce.net has a Lego article that hints to a 30th aniversary DVD set, so all you patient ones who passed on the latest gouging-er I mean-release may be rewarded. I think it would be significant if they release it in May.

I hope this will be the ultimate collection, the one we've all been waiting for, but Geoge Lucas tends always to leave us wanting more.

What we want;

Episodes 1-6 special editions
Episodes 1-6 as they were originally released(anamorphic)
deleted scenes from all movies
Commentaries documentaries, and other extras

Chances are George will leave something out so we can buy it again in 2008.

Fantasy DVD set;

All the above
Holiday special
Ewok movies
Ewoks the complete series
Droids the complete series
Clone wars the complete series
Complete soundtracks for all movies
Parody clips (SNL, Simpsons, Family Guy, etc)
R2-D2 shaped DVD case

Thanks to Darth Slothus I have procured one 1:18th scale 21st Century Toys MIG 15, and I have to say this is one sweet aircraft. I'm not an expert but I'm familiar enough to appreciate the details like the removable gun pod, the aft air brakes and the "spin recovery" line painted on the console.

One small gripe is that the gun pod has to be in position to stabilize the nose gear, making it impossible to display them seperately.

Jon, thanks a million for picking up that Mig 15 on your business trip. I really appreciate it that you hauled that sucker in your carry-on bag the whole way and kept it in excellent condition. Our trade was more than fair, but I definitely owe you one for the hastle.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Lucas donates $175 million to USC

Not mad, I like SC. I feel that we fans who have contributed to his success, have in a way contributed to this donation. In fact a buddy of mine, a USC alum, e-mailed me to thank me.

So George Lucas decides to donate $175 million to USC, which may seem very generous unless you consider that it came straight from our wallets!

It's kinda like  re-gifting, like if you get a gift card for Christmas and just pass it it on to someone else at no expense to yourself.

The Original Trilogy / Re: Holy Trilogy on DVD!

I may be wrong but I think that "blip" is the disc transition to the second layer. It is a little distracting, you'd think they could put it in a less noticeable scene.

Yesterday I spotted the Exclusive Vader at Kay-Bee for 20 bucks, the packaging is exactly the same as the Best Buy one last year, except for the Best Buy sticker of course.

1:144th scale planes are out!

Those stands that come with the 3" Titanium ships seem to work well with the Axis fighters of this series, but not so much the American planes.

This line has great detail for the scale, but I especially love the price, 3 bucks and change, compare that to those Franklin Mint jobs going at $15 each.
