I just laugh at the Stupidity of Jerry Jones in drafting Q Carter in the first place...in the second round no less.  He was easily the worst draft pick of that draft and one that everyone in the world said the Cowboys reached about 3 rounds too high on...

Cowboys aren't making the Playoffs anyway so it matters little, I'll say their D may get them close but with Vinny or Hutchinson or a Baseball Player, no way in hell are they gonna make it

Will you retract the above statement when they go 10-6 on their way to winning 1 playoff game before being eliminated? I realize your hatred for the Cowboys runs deep (I would hate them after they took 3 trophies in 4 years, too, were I a fan of any other team), but surely if they have success despite your prognostication, you will endeavor to admit you...erred?

Carter tested psotive for marijuana, not cocaine. It was his second violation.

My wife and I went and saw an up close and personal engagement with Sarah McLachlan at a little bar here in town. She played a few songs and talked with the audience. We won tickets to it. Sarah is cool, I like some of her songs, but my wife is nuts for her music. I'm glad we got to go because it was awesome to her.

Yeah, for $400 you should be able to get those plug-ins. My version didn't come with the Noise reduction or or karaoke plug-ins. I had to get them separately. So, go to like a pro music shop and tell them Musician's Friend (online music store) will bundle it for the same price. Usually, like at Guitar Center (which owns Musician's Friend but the saleskids seem clueless about what they charge) or some major chain, they'll do it if the difference isn't that much. You should be able to save another $100. If they already come bundled, then forget everything I just said.

I'm sort of halfway in and out on EU. Some of the EU releases were great. I liked SOTE. I thought the Outrider was a cool ship (wish I would have picked one up). Xizor was OK, I guess. It was interesting seeing a legitimate rival to Vader for the Emperor's favor.  I liked the Luke disquise and Chewie as Snoova. Why didn't they make a Guri figure? she was cool.

Heir to the Empire was decent. Thrawn is a great character and one of my favorite Imperial figures. Of course Mara Jade is awesome ( I had to buy two of them so I could make Guri from SOTE).

Dark Empire I was sort of out on. I liked the Devastators, but I got sick of the Emperor always coming back as a clone, though the clone Emperor is a cool figure. I didn't really care for the art in Dark Empire, either.

I loved The Clone Wars. Though the releases for the cartoon are more statue than figure. They don't do much, so they're kind of disappointing. I bought them all anyway, but...

I have always been into the STAR WARS comics going all the way back to issue #7 of the Marvel Comics line when Han Solo and Chewbacca bail on the rebellion to go pay Jabba back and wind up in a band of mercenaries to save a village from swoop bandits. Anyone else remember this story line? One of Han's buddies was a big green rabbit named Jaxx. It was a direct ripoff of some old western where the two outlaws go around hiring mercenaries to protect a town from bandits.

I tried to get into the SITH and Tales of the Jedi series, but I admit, STAR WARS is character driven for me, so I don't necessarily want to see some random character I've never encountered as a main character unless they develop the character fully. I'm sure they did develop characters, but I wasn't in to that ancient version of STAR WARS. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime. I never like it when they bring in another random Hutt into the EU comics, I'm over the Hutts. I don't like for new stories to rehash too much from the old ones.I hate it when characters die and oops, wait, they're back.

I would like for someone to do an EU series that is a bit more adult oriented. I don't mean nudity or gratuitous violence, but more sophisticated themes, less cornball one-liners, despicable villains and obviously flawed heroes. Maybe delving intomore complicated plots without so much convenient resolution. I don't know. Maybe like STAR WARS if done by Ridley Scott or the Wachowski brothers. I didn't like the Matrix that much as far as the whole Neo/messiah storyline went, but I loved the look and the background. I would love it if there were a STAR WARS equivalent to the Animatrix.

Other Collectibles / STAR WARS Film Trailers
« on: July 23, 2004, 05:46 PM »
I've posted this topic on the different SW collecting forums I've joined, but few out there seem to know much about STAR WARS preview trailers.

Last summer, an acquaintence gave me the "Black Eyes B" version of the AOTC trailer because he knew I was really into STAR WARS.

I think it's cool just having it for what it is: a unique piece of memorabilia. But , I was wondering if anyone else collected them or if a market existed for trailers. I'm beginning to think I'm the only one, which is fine, but I would think there would be some sort of interest in trailers. Since they are rather uncommon.

Here are its markings:

Your wife should try Pink Lemonades (citrus vodka, triple sec, lime juice, sour mix, cranberry juice) or a Purple Passion (vodka, grape fruit juice, grape juice, sugar).

You might dig a black russian (or white russian, depending on your preference), or a Long Island Iced Tea.

The switch from Gin to vodka is a smoother transition than say, switching to malt cordials like scotch or bourbon. You're going from clear to clear. Does that matter, really? Well, some people get stomache irritations if they've been drinking the same thing for a long time and then switch to something drastically different.

As with anything, enjoy your libations in moderation...

My first marriage was a colossal failure. I'm the kind of guy who is usually friends with my exes when we break up, but my ex-wife is the exception to that rule. She is a miserable soul, who spread her unhappiness around like manure. We argued DAILY.

That being said, I have since remarried and I have never been happier (though you don't need to be married to be happy). You have to believe that you won't repeat the same mistakes you might have made the last time. Otheriwise, what's the point if you haven't taken the steps to change the things that didn't work for you last time (the proverbial YOU, not you specifically).

My current wife and I have only ever had two arguments, and the second one was a silly misunderstanding. Not that an occasional disagreement is harmful, but my second marriage and my first are night and day different. I wasn't nervous, really. We were in Vegas, so I actually think we were kind of buzzed (well, yeah, we were).

This is her second marriage, too, so I guess it took us both once to figure out what we wanted from a partner ( or more accurately, what we DON'T want) and things have gone very smoothly, even during the hard times.

A bittersweet day for Cowboys fans:

URL TextReady For Eddie; Cowboys Sign RB

URL TextBack Surgery To Sideline Woodson

I wasn't thrilled about the George signing early on--I don't think we have any use for a 3.3 ypc back. But, it sounds like he'll split time with Jones and I want to see why Parcells took Jones over Jackson. We could have taken Jackson and we passed on him, so that must mean Coach thinks Jones has something.

Losing Woodson sucks! At least it's not for the season, but DAMN! It's ironic, but maybe it will help him keep healthy this season by missing camp. He IS after all, an old man, so if he's ready to play by the 3rd or fourth game, then we'll get by. But that means we move Williams over to the strong side and promote Dixon, who is a rather unknown commodity.

Maybe we can find a cap casualty after the first or second cut...

For just mixing tracks, I would recommend Acid Pro. It's very easy to use, and you can get pretty much all on top of your mix.

But, it sounds like you want something that edits wave files, too, and in that case, I would say Sony Sound Forge 7 is what you need. Mixing tracks isn't as automatic as in Acid but I use Sound Forge to mix tracks all the time. Acid can't edit the wave file (unless they changed that in the most recent version). It is strictly a loop sequencer, whereas Sound Forge is a fully decked out professional audio tool.

You can mix, record, manipulate, edit, effect, master, compress. Soundforge has filters for just about everything you would find in a hardware studio.

BUT, the plug-in to remove vocals and the noise reduction plug-in for hiss are purchased separately unless you can get them to bundle the plug-ins with your purchase. It couldn't hurt to ask.
