Bay did redesign the robots.  That may mean he holds the rights to the designs, and as a result gets a portion of the toy money.  Otherwise they probably couldn't use his versions of the characters.  Plus, I'm sure Hasbro is appreciative of the money he's delivering by making these films.

How the hell is anybody supposed to get to know 46 different robot characters in a 2-hour film?  Seems like a blatant "Michael Bay wants his cut of the toy profits" move to me.  I read somewhere that his percentage of toy sales is the highest of any movie director besides George Lucas.

I can't say for certain, but what do you think the chances are they'd let you do that for free?

We've already gone over this... the cost of making Holm young for 6 hours across two movies would be ridiculous, not to mention it'd be unconvincing throughout.  It's not a smart solution no matter how much you liked Holm in the role.  The guy will be 80 before the movies come out.

I've heard that about Chronicles but don't even know what kind of game it is. For my money, the best game I've got is Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution. I dunno, that's just something I do when I chill out... Go Greek on people's asses.

It's a strategy RPG with FPS elements.  There's about 15 campaigns.  You deploy your squad, then you have a round of movement/attack, followed by the enemy's round of movement/attack.  Unlike most strategy RPGs you actually control the attacks... it switchs to FPS mode and you get to pick your shot.  The faster you beat each level, the more XP you earn, and the better weapons/armor/troops you get.  On top of that it has a very solid and engaging story.  The levels are challenging and beating them well is very satisfying.

Resistance was fantastic for a launch game.  Almost 3 years later is shows its age.  I just started playing Resistance 2 after having played Killzone 2 - BIG MISTAKE.  The graphics in R2 are a joke by comparison.  It's still fun and challenging, but it looks way worse.  KZ2 is probably the best graphics I've ever seen.

Valkyria Chronicles is a top-notch game that you should absolutely pick up.

G.I.Joe: Rise of Cobra Director Fired?!?

Quote
Endtimes posted the following over at the Don Murphy boards about director Stephen Sommers being fired from G.I.Joe. Though some sources have chimed in to there being truth to the following post, there has been no offical confirmation from Paramount on this so this should all be considered nothing more as rumor at this time.

So the story goes like this-

after a test screening wherein the film tested the lowest score ever from an audience in the history of Paramount, the executive who pushed for the movie Brad Weston had Stephen Sommers, the super hack director of the film fired. Removed. Locked out of the editing room.

The studio officially debunked this story, and claims it's tested great with audiences.  Not that they'd admit it if it was true and it tested poorly.

80-Gig PS3 for $350 in Amazon's Gold Box

It's looking like if Sony won't offer a price cut, then retailers are gonna take a stab at it.  First Dell, now Amazon.

I just finished up Season 2 on Blu-ray.  Amazing show!

How could you forget Jaime Murray, who was naked as often as she was clothed?
