The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

I know I'm terribly late to the party, but I scored Zam Wesell today at an art store for... wait for it... $14. :( This has probably been my most-wanted figure for years, so even though it hurt to drop so much money for a single figure, I didn't really hesitate to do so. Besides, I haven't bought a single figure at retail in over a month! :o

JTA has a front-page report that this wave is actually showing up at FYE (For Your Entertainment) stores for around $10. Now THAT is interesting, I guess it wouldn't hurt to check there. Kinda makes sense, being they sell movies and music there.

Dang, I wasn't even planning to pick up Walrus Face, but after seeing the whole deal I just might skimp on this figure... I couldn't help but notice, though, that the 2-piece right arm looks slightly long... no doubt a result from the removable arm feature.

I'll probably get two - one for display and one for openers. I wonder if Hasbro will make a large enough batch for one straight run like the firing-rocket Boba, as it seems this is a pretty anticipated figure.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Boba Fett Mail-Away Offer?
« on: June 25, 2011, 07:42 PM »
Got my Boba Fett today - the one I mailed for the day of the deadline, just a few hours before the postoffice closed. I was shocked! The card isn't exactly mint, but it's pretty darn close - there's a slight crease on the back of the card.

Being that these are coming out on TVC cards, I wonder if Hasbro will use art from the cartoon or (and most likely, too) use realistic sketches of the characters.

Well, I know all those ones showing up on eBay aren't just from online sellers. Dude is out there somewhere.

JTA has a front-page report of one eBay auction that sold him for $460... I wonder if Hasbro thought over putting Wedge in just one case before they actually did it.

Unfortunately it seems that Zam and Padme are going to be limited to the Wave 4 case.

It makes sense being they're the only female characters in this wave. It's a shame they're being limited to one case, as they appear to be doing more or less very well at retail.

It could easily have been a return from another store, or a return on a receipt using a figure someone didn't want in place of what they did want...  It's hard to say.

Yeah, probably; I remember hearing something similar to this before. It had never really crossed my mind before that they could be returned. I'm still hoping to see these in bulk sometime soon, though.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: CW Deluxe Figure & Vehicle Line

Took a look at the Grievous set (which I really dig), and how is he supposed to hold the electrostaff if the figure can't even hold a lightsaber properly?

And what happened to the Boba set?

Alright so this is a question for anyone who can answer -

Visited my local Target recently and was floored by what I discovered. Keep in mind that this store has had the exact same 20+ figures on the pegs since January, an assortment of Wooof, Bespin Cloud Car Pilot, Ep.III Clone, and Endor Rebel Soldier.

What floored me was that when I visited this time, there was a lone AOTC Obi-Wan on the pegs, with the card in mint shape (I was enraged that it wasn't Zam Wesell). My question is, how is it that this one AOTC figure ended up here? Is it possible that for the first time in months this Target restocked the pegs (is this happening elsewhere?) and I just missed the rest of the figures? Or could it be that it was returned from a different store? The reason I'm asking is because I find it odd that there was only one figure from this wave and not a handful of others.

Anyone found Wedge in a store?  ???

Surely in these Dark Times that'd be an impossible thing to do. :(

Does anyone know what the fencing-sword thing is that Savage is holding? I don't recall seeing it in the episode.

Confirmed by Hasbro in Action Figure Insider's Q/A session:

Quote
Q2)  And any chance/thought of Hasbro doing figures of Pre-Visla, Cad Bane, Asoka, Hondo, Embo, or any of the other "Clone Wars" characters in the more realistic saga or vintage styles?

A2)  Yep, you asked for it, you got it.  A handful of core Clone Wars figures are planned for the Vintage Collection line in 2012.  Stay tuned for more information!

Rex, Ahsoka, and probably Cad Bane are a given, but asides from those three I'd like to see Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress.

Apparently we're in for some realistic-styled TCW figures! ;D
