Brian,

I have only seen them at Walmart once (Hoth), and the Carkoon did the same thing, hit once at Walmart then nothing. When Hoth showed up, the ratio was 3 Carkoon to either 1 or 2 cases of Hoth depending on the volume of the store.

Targets here have put out the Hoth wave on Saturday, and then either yesterday or today they put out the second shipment. Same thing with Carkoon when the hit. Target seems currently to be putting out 3 cases of Carkoon to 2 cases of Hoth. So, yes, the have hit multiple times. Bad thing is they are hitting multiple tiimes at Target and that means paying more per figure.

Cool, thanks for the input. I'll give em a try and place a order next week. I did score 3 more AT AT drivers, 1 for me (gives me 4 for my AT AT), 3 for a friend and 1 for another friend. Hooked up another local collector with a gonk droid. Now I'm done hunting until the next wave if I don't order it online.

Well, I don't think Lucas has a good track record picking good child actors or in delivering good lines. I think of Jake Lloyd, Daniel Logan, the group of kids at Anakin's podracer.
A series has to have adults in it. If the series is based around Boba Fett, I think you have to imagine that it takes place between Ep. III and Ep. IV, with Boba being an adult.

Edmund Burke said it best I think: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

I guess we can modify it to say "All that is necessary for the triumph of scalpers is that good men do nothing."

Regardless of where the community is, I think the point here is that when good people do nothing, the community in general is hurt. At forums, when there is an issue that impacts or has the potential to hurt the community in a negative way, and members do not report or pass on it thinking others will act, Mods do not respond or do not take action, and people in general are not passionate about what occurs in their community, the result is apathy (wherever that community is). When apathy, for whatever reason sets in, reason is lost, and chaos/evil slowly begins to creep in. History shows that all over place, and I think we can see that reflected in our culture and society right now. That is why when a community comes together, it makes news and we as a society are fascinated by it; but that is JMO.
So in the end, how active the members of a community are, and remain, is what makes a community strong.  Communities change over time, and that is unavoidable. The key is for good people to stay involved in their community.

Now, if ReHasbro was smart, this fall or early in 2007 they would release an Evolutions of Clone Commanders. You could do Gree (correctly), Cody,  and not sure but one of the other commanders. Then we could get a SA and correct version of each figure. I'm sure this Cody will be ok to good, but I expect it to be just short of great!

I too am also really considering ordering cases for the waves I want. Just saves the time of running to get them. Guess I'm lazy  . . . . no, I have other things that I want to do with my time. For my extra's I'll either give them to my son if he wants em, or I have a 4 year old that my 11 year old son has corrupted (our neighbors son who is 4 saw my son's Darth Vader costume at Halloween, and he came over in November and played with my son for about 4 hours. All they played was Star Wars. It was actually cool because we had an older Vader costume from when my son was that age and we gave it to him, well, my son did as well as an old he won't fit Jedi costume; my son has newer ones). The 4 year old would love the figures!
Question I have. Those who have ordered from NewForce have you had any experiences of not receiving a preorder? I have never not received product when ordered from EE (though I pay slightly more). Any input on NewForce I would appreciate. Always willing to give someone a try.

I have to say that Hasbro has already scored a victory amoung collectors with the Chase figures. Look at JD or any SW site and how much discussion is going on about it! It is driving interest in the line, regarless of whether this is positive or negative interest. With me I have no interest in the chase figures nor do I care if I miss out on an exclusive figure by not finding the "Chase" figures. It is enough for me to hunt the figures I want so I won't be going out of my way on these.  There are other figures I am missing in my collection and I don't miss em at all (Jorg Secul).

In order of my preference:

Luke
Scout
Han
Tusken
Greedo

I guess with Greedo the POTJ one is ok with me unless the articulation AND other items make for a truly outstanding figure. Depends where I am with the collecting budget at the time.

Hmmmm, if they come out that fast, I will have to become not only picky about what I buy, but I will definetly pass on figures I would get if there was more of a wait in between waves. Guess I will have to keep my commitment to only get new figures that meet my standard.

In my area I have noticed a trend. The waves are hitting Walmart, then Target, then TRU. After that the Saga waves disappears and we did not see more figures until the next wave hit. Then it was a ratio of 3 Carkoon to 1 Hoth in many Walmarts, some getting a 3 to 2 ratio of Carkoon to Hoth.
My question is has anyone seen a Wally, Target or TRU restock a Saga wave after initially receiving their first shipment?

My Vader's cape is loose, very similiar to the 500th Vader. I agree on the grey/silver issue. I passed on the deluxe Reiken because of price for a figure that should have been a carded release to begin with (IMO), so I have him. I do agree, I like having the name on the base but I did pass on figures like the Snowtrooper because I have no need for this one. If I want an officer, I can paint an extra Saga Snowtrooper. Bad figure, might be the worse release so far in the line (IMO).

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader
« on: January 13, 2006, 03:41 AM »
I finished the book last week.  It's pretty good and a fairly quick read once you get past the set-up in the beginning.

I don't want to go too much into it since most of y'all haven't read it yet, but it deals with some Jedi that survived Order 66, some Early Trakin/Vader meetings, there's even some stuff that deals with some kids on Alderaan and Tatooine.   ;)

Sorry for the late reply. December was extremely busy and I became very sick.  I agree, once you get pas his setup in the beginning, the book flies. Fun read overall and it makes you think. I can agree with some of Luceno's thoughts, a few I have issues. But for a Star Wars book and for the author, I have to say the book made me think and that is usually rare for a SW book for me.  I usually read them for the escapism but Luceno makes me think which I LOVE since I teach English.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ok guys, Who Brought Balance To The Force?
« on: January 13, 2006, 03:35 AM »
Two definitions of balance I think bring an interesting insight into what it means to bring balance to the force:

1. The power or means to decide

2. Something that is left over; a remainder

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=balance

At the time of the destruction of the Jedi, I do not think that most Jedi had the power or means to decide how they acted with the force. The Jedi code vastly influenced the Jedi, and if you went with the code vs going with the force, you got labeled. We see this with Qui Gon.

Second, Anakin as the Chosen One, is allowed the power or means to decide which side, Sith or Jedi, ultimately wins.

Finally, in the end, it is the Jedi that are leftover and thus "balance" according to the definition is achieved. Anyway, just a few late night thougths that are not probably worth much.

I have to say on the Darth Vader (the 500th edition without the chamber), I really dislike how easy the helmet falls off and how he cannot really hold his lightsaber that well. Nice figure, but Evolutions is SO much better followed by the VOTC. I may have to play at modifying the figure so he can hold his saber tighter.

Clarification: How about a grunt Rebel Hoth Solider that is SA? I know I passed on the Saga Buzz Lightyear model.  I also passed on this Snowtrooper; nothing that I don't have with the Saga Snowtrooper.

I picked up the members of the wave I wanted this am. I have to say, that overall, I am very pleased with the entire wave (though I did not buy all of them). Nicely done, good paint jobs. My only beef, probably the same as most,  not enough articulation on the figures.
