bump for the new year... let's get started on the "2006" version of the Collector's Challenge!!!

Finally got the stuff I was waiting for, and my package will be shipped early this week. Sorry for the delay 

if any of you are having trouble finding a nice case to put your kubs in, i was at IKEA in san francisco this last weekend and ran across a HUGE CHEAP selection. most of them are on line.

i picked up the one for $19.99 and it works and looks awsome!!  the glass cabinet on that page that is on the right was really sweet and only $60.00! if i had room i would have bought one of those. you'll have a hard time finding something better than this for the price.

These work great for regular 4" figures as well.... I've got about 15 of them mounted on my wall. The glass doors keep all the dust and crap away from the figures while still allowing them to be viewed. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are fairly deep (a little deeper than a CD) and the back row can get a little dark. I'm toying with the idea of routing out a small section around the back of the entire case and then installing some thin rope lighting to brighten things up a bit. From what I've measured out so far, it looks like it could work.

Man, you ruined it!! That piece is worth like a Bazillion dollars!!!!

Just kidding, just kidding... it came out great!! I'm sure if anyone from GG sees this they'll be sorry they didn't release a colorized version themselves.

I've been in several stores over the past few days (Targets, Wal*Marts, Toys'R'Us's, etc.) and one thing that has baffled me is that there is not a single carded figure to be found anywhere. And I don't mean the pegs were just empty - at most of the places I went, there weren't even any pegs. There were other SW items in the section - lightsabers, unleashed, galactic heroes - but no figures. Outside of 1 Target that had about a dozen Mon Mothma's on two pegs. That was it.
