yeah they are both the same weapon which is nice, since its rare to find a yakface with the staff. i can't recall though whether the POTF yak came with the weapon or was that the tri-logo yak....

Well, this probably is the right place to ask, but since we are on the subject of R2 drinks on his drink tray, I have a customizing question.  I am VERY new to customizing.  I just tried a "simple" head swap for a custom to compete in the artoosnews.com's SH4 constest (won 8th place).  I had to trim & trim the knob under the neck to get the head back in the hole.  I didn't have that big of an issue pulling it out, but I could not get it back in.  

Well headswaps can be tricky when talking about putting a head whose neck peg is larger than the hole you're trying to insert it in. Sounds like the case here and your solution was the right way to go.  I don't know whether or not you used the time honored "boil and pop" method for removing the head, but you can actually use it again to put the head back on.

Anyway,  with painting, which I have never attempted and would be nervous on something with such small detail.   I think I would like to keep the current "cups" on since I think it would be a night mare to try to keep them balanced on the tray.  I don't know if a small drill bit could hallow out the top of a cup, but I'd like to try that.  But then what paint... grey/white? to paint the top of the cup with the appropriate drink color at the bottom of the cup.  Anyone ever customize something with this small of detail?  Would it be worth it?

I didn't notice if the cups were removable or not, but a simple dab of glue would obviously keep them on permanently. A very small drill bit probably would do the trick in hollowing out the cup. About painting in small details, it just takes time and practice, especially when it comes to R2 units, they're a tricky lot.

hey Henrik, nice to see another vintage veteran over here. a question for you and for matt about variation lists, are your lists sticking with just kenner variations or do they include "foreign to the US" variations as well? I noticed the JD variation list didn't include the green snake yoda which i believe is a tri-logo variant.

well, after i thought about it, and i kept looking at it, it was starting to really piss me off that his feet weren't touching. so i just got fed up and super glued 'em on. ha! that'll fix 'em.... of course, now he can't get off his bike... even if he wanted to.

hey joka, good idea with the stands, might I suggest though using hot glue from a hot glue gun (yeah that wasn't redundant...  ) for the stands as well as the clonetrooper's feet. The glue will stick, but can easily be peeled off without causing damage to the plastic.

the third level is looking awesome. great detailing all around. about the changing of images in the control room, is the knob connected to a wheel that has the images on it, how'd you go about doing that? I noticed on the 3rd floor that you aligned the elevator hub with the shaft on the 2nd floor, any plans to make a working lift? also how is the stability of the set holding up?  keep up the great job!

-New Anakin...  I hate the CW Anakin sculpt...  I'd take a new one, with soft goods, more articulation, and a more neutral pose.  One that can fit easily in his fighter and will look good outside it too.

Yeah what is up with that, I just got Anakin's starfighter and could barely fit the figure in, I'd hate to see what kids would actually do with it.

To go along with the thread I'd like to see an IG-series Lancer Droid w/ Speeder Bike. That would be nice to see. By the by, the Republic Starfighter in question (the 3 winged fighter) is called the V-19 Torrent from what I have heard.

For the containment of carbonite for processing and/or delivery.

no-wan, an awesome job on the display, nicely detailed. will you be expanding on this idea to make more of the death star? and did you think of perhaps including turbolift doors as part of this hallway? awesome stuff all around!
