As far as action figures go, the local Babies R Us was a bust.

I went to Target 2 doors down found 2 clearanced vintage 3-packs* marked $9.88. They scanned as $26.99, but I said. "I got the Taret 50% coupons. They are marked 9.88....I'll try it."

Without much hassle, the cashier didn't call a manager or anything, I got both sets for $10.47. Ha!

And I got another 50% coupon from the return counter.

*Stormtrooper/Vader/Death Star Trooper and 2-1B/Leia/Hoth Rebel

Thus the goofiness of mass rerelease of Sebulba's pod racer while his action figure is currently only available in a store exclusive battle pack.

Babies R Us carries action figures?

I'll glady send off for more...when the magic fairy gives me some offer forms. I only ever got one.

No figures..NONE in this area in the past 3 months with that form in the package.  But, hey, everyone wants a chance to win a big Darth Maul, right?  ::)

Target coupon says one coupon per item, so these people buying a lot at once with just one coupon are fortunate. I'm not sure if I'm willing try that.

If you can use one coupon many times, it makes me think the whole coupon idea is stupid. Just have a real 50% sale off dammit. Save that wasted paper on the extra part of the weekly flier.

2003
I got an AAT for $15 plus tax.

Anyone who knows a place where they dump leftover papers can have a field day with this coupon.

Alas, i have only 2 more coupons left thus far.

TRU has another buy one get one 50% off sale (figures only)...yee-haw...(applies to GI JOE, marvel, avengers...)

I understand that.

On the other hand, something like 80's Yak Face was never meant to be rare. It's not a Faberge Egg or something. It was a  toy that underproduced before the days when a collectors market was even acknowledged.

Suppose they were bootlegged and somehow indistinguishable from the originals. That would mean the old ones are worth more because they are old? Their decaying plastic more valuable?

Or what if a warehouse was found with 500,000  Kenner Yak-face figures...all originals mint on card...which would lower the market value. Would collectors be mad that what was once rare became common? A lot of them, yes, because of what they paid for the originals, but also because it is about pride to some people, having that rare thing. Folks want unique collections but collect mass produced items!  (One of the absurdities of being a collector.)

All the same I'd be cool if Hasbro made a retro Yak-Face (with proper foot hole size, dammit) and it was different enough from the 80's version to keep folks from getting too cranky. Then the true originals would remain such. And I could have an old style figure to add to my old collection. Hasbro probably won't do that, though. That's where the collector-aimed bootleg market comes from, when a company abandons the old style and there's still demand for retro product.

We once again discover most of the far out ideas, for better or worse, were from  Lucas.

I'd forgot Hondo Ohnaka  existed...so many characters on the show.

Not the dread Mark Poon!  :o

Never heard of him. Not up on modern vintage bootlegs. I think people get a bit too worked up over repro accessories, figures though I can understand...especially if they started making Yak Face...I can that would be problem for serious collectors...and I totally would get one.  :P

I rarely saw Logray and maybe Bariss twice.

Basically, screw most of that Revenge wave that was wasted case slots. Though again, most of that didn't linger around here due to the holidays. Only Han in coat was readily available. Saw the dark skinned Rebel Commando just once.

Why the need for a new Rex body and a less articulated one at that?

The only figure there I might get is Aayla because I missed her.

My interest in Clone Wars figures has been waning, it's almost gone now.

They could literally do a whole wave of different Padme costumes.

And they'd sit on store pegs for years.  ;)

They're busy rigging the full results, too. It will be loaded characters they were already going to make within the next year so they can say "see, we listen to the fans!"
