LEGO / Re: LEGO Sale

I thought it was 2 Pilot BDs and like 8 regular BDs...

Also I think they made a Battle Droid carrier way back in the early 2000s but it's obviously long out of production

Sweet. Guess I only looked at the picture and decided reading was way too hard.

I think it's just two BDs and two Gungans.

Has there been any version of the Battle Droid Carrier Vehicle that is in the "Battle of Naboo" set on sale at Target this week ever before. Hasbro/Titanium or whatever? I'm trying to decide if the $20 makes it a must buy.

Vintage Kenner / Re: Latest vintage acquisition

Been a long while since I've been able to post something in here directly related to the thread title. Nothing super special, but picked up a complete Dagobah Action Playset in a resealed ESB box. The box is in "good' shape. Fun to add some actual vintage to the collection again.

Picked this up at TRU yesterday. Can't believe how long it took. I had almost forgotten about it. Hopefully it means it is hitting again if others are still looking.

If I ever wander into a toy shop/show and any character of these things is there I think I'm going to cave. So cool.

Question...Would you guys still be buying these if they were still $25 a pop?  I bailed awhile ago, but was just wondering.

Even at $20 I've told myself "Blitz" and "Kix" printed on the back of the box isn't enough anymore (it would have been in the past) to buy repainted/retooled Clones.

I do LOVE the condensed, slimmer BP packaging though, this is a great enhancement IMO. For me, space is at a premium, so anything that is done to help minimize the raw square footage I have to store is a huge win.

I am on board with that aspect of it. As I was sliding my "Cad Bane's Escape" into a tiny little spot on a shelf I did think to myself this sure is easy to find a spot to stash this in the mound of boxes that is my collection. It's like playing Tetris.

I thought it was quite funny. Yoda's "3CPO" was great. Looking forward to the mini fig (won't spoil it) that is coming with the DVD next month.

This obviously means nothing to those who open these, but I hate that they are just 3 figs next to each other. As someone who keeps everything in the package my favorite thing about BPs was it was like I opened some figs and set up a scene w/o actually opening them up. Makes it harder for me to bite on these.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

I picked one up the other day, only one they had. 1 per case was ridiculous, until I started playin with it. It's a neat item, but I don't know any kid in their right mind that would be interested in one, so I kind kind of see the logic.

You may be right, but my gut (and I admit my gut is very "collector" biased) says more collectors will want to army build the sled than kids will want the bug and speeder.

I most likely won't die if I don't get a sled, but really Hasbro? Come on.

Sorry Jeff, Jesse, Scott, etc. I promise this is it.

Ok that's fine. I am a big ass. Thank you.

Agreed - and if my post came across that I think you, Nick, are a "big ass", I apologize, that was not my intent.

I was taking that out of the "ASSume" comment. And what you are saying is fair. I know I got jaded when I saw the same guys asking me to pull stuff at Target then at a toy show selling stuff the next month or the guys who would have their kid come in who you knew was a dealer and say oh my kid wants it.

And the communication at Target is horrible. The LODs/Team leads share nothing with the 16 year old team members. So there is no consistency.

Anyway I can't say that the way Target handles this isn't unfair and a pain in the butt, but I can put myself in some of their shoes enough to at least throw my two cents in.

Oh and I love the "if you tell me you can't sell it until the 31st I'll come back that day and say I'm here to buy it since it's the 31st idea." That's good stuff.

Those are all good points and I have no idea why I feel the need to revert back and bring my old Target employee wounds to the surface.

I will say that when I was a toy team lead for Target I "hated" the hot wheel guys and the toy scalpers so sometimes you just assume anyone and everyone, especially when they know a DPCI for an item not on the floor is one of  those.

Ok all done. Time to forget my Target years again............................. done.
