I said somewhere else that the amount of crap they are slapping Star Wars on right now is like a serious blast from the past.  Slip and Slides?  Sprinklers?  Nice job keeping that brand out of the mud ::)

Yeah, I'm having that 1983-ish, 1997-ish, and 1999-ish feeling all over again as far as Star Wars goes.

They seemed to be able to control themselves when E2 rolled around, and the DVD's I feel they wanted to blitz a little but still not go overboard...  Clone Wars was a nicely handled "event" too.

Now though, you can see them going ape**** with marketing on this...  The last great push I'd say.  Or it feels that way anyhow.

And that MPH just looks like a turd with a Vader helmet...  God they'll stick that Vader on anything this year, you know it.

I'm sticking to my guns on scale, but those pictures sure make that thing look big so maybe it is to-scale afterall...

Removable astromech seems intentional, but not "complete" so you could just stick R2 in there or something...  That's odd, unless it's underscaled I don't quite understand why they went that route with things rather than a full socket like the Saga/OTC X-Wing had.

It does look nice so far though.  Better than I was anticipating actually.

Endor Gen's are long gone here.  I wish I was havin' your problem Jared...  Now we're inundated with Vader's mostly, but the Bespin wave (sans CCP) is lingering too...

The Gam Guards, Imperials (any kind), CCP, and any other general army builder (jawas, etc.) are long gone it seems.  I gotta get out tonight or tomorrow to see if new stuff's arriving because I keep hearing of VOTC ROTJ wave resurfacing as well...  I'd take some $5, $7, or (dare I say) $10 stormies still...  At least one.  I would grab a Chewie or two if I saw them  as well since people seem to need him yet.

Hell I'd even take 3PO and R2 openers at this stage...  I'm lamenting opening the only two I was willing to nab at $10 each.

Hasbro's attempts...

They're not swift.

20751

Eh?  Sorta...  They're really close in an ambiguous way! :)

Oh, yeah, I dig that scout too...  I even like the bike, sorta, I guess...  I think the ROTJ design is more "military" looking though.

If the scout's nicely articulated, I'm ALL about htat figure seeing a ROTJ repaint.  He'll at least be good fodder to start off with.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Any ROTS figures you will pass on?

I'm actually taking my frustrations out on Hasbro somewhat I believe...  I'll somewhat support Collection 2 becuase they look pretty top-notch, but I'm getting some of my Clone $ back by waiting for sales and clearance on ROTS figures before picking them up.

I can't even say I've been disappointed.  They hid the action features, they improved articulation on Collection 1, the sculpts look good, and I think that C1's overall improved...  But they're cutting into the old fundage so I've learned to be patient on most of this stuff, especially if the things I truly look forward to are overpriced to me.

It's gonna force me to be picky unless I truly believe something will not linger on pegs.  With ROTS that's not applicable to much of any of it, so I'll get my $ back one way or another.

Nana Visitor and Terri Ferrel (sp?) are friggin' incredible.

Many a lonely DS9 marathon was spent with those two in a lurid embrace in my mind...  OOOOooooooo

And I'm a sucker for short hair...  I dig that.  She was rough though, and Ferrel was all soft and hot.  She dated this dude from HOward Stern though, who's a total maroon and ugly as the last thing I flushed down the toilet.  She has a sweet taste for **** apparantly.

And I'd compare this to the "kiddie" (Galactic Heroes and things) lines and the 3.75" line more than competition...  Both vying for the same dollars, but aimed at different people...

Not sure how SMART a move that is myself, but I think that's what they're aiming for.  The SWMB rules, while atually toned down in complexity from other MB games, are still pretty complex for novice gamers and kids.

This Attacktix won't be though...  I don't think it's gonna be a big hit myself, but I just think Hasbro's dipping their quill into too many inkwells at this point is all.

After tomorrow I'm gonna try to run around looking, so I'll keep my eyes open for a Chewie for you Spuffy, but ROTJ wave's been non-existant mostly, and Chewie I've seen less of than R2 and 3PO at this point. :(

Not a TON of great stuff left here...  Army builders are all gone it seems.

I see no CCP's anymore, etc...  :(  VOTC's down to pretty much just ANH wave leavins, and the Han's are moving now better than the others (Leia still goes though).

I'd love finding a bunch of the Han AT-ST.  I swapped parts around and while you wind up with 50% loss on figures, you can make some great Techs/Troopers if you've got the random generic heads to use with them, and you lose that lame-o left arm that the Han AT-St has.

You get more of a "Imperial Officer" pose then...  And a bunch of generic parts that'll be useable later on I'm sure. :)

I feel the idea's sound, execution is completely wrong though...

Like, oh, say, pretty much 90% of Hasbro's ideas lately.   ;D

OK, that's a bit harsh, but let's look:

-Clone Army Builders...  Overpriced and defeats the "point" behind army building.  Beyond that, great concept.

-4-packs...  Poor figure choices hampered an otherwise awesome idea.  You sneak in SLIGHTLY new toolings here and there (new pair of arms, or a new torso...  not a new figure, just a new part here and there like some figures seemed to get), and the idea's more sound right away.  Just make right decisions...

I mean, imagine a Jabba's Palace set...  Ephant's the "big" piece in the set, there's a Ree Yees figure in there, a repaint of Yak Face, maybe a new body for some reused arms/legs/head to make a Weequay Skiff Master, or whatever...

-Screen Scenes...  Great concept if you're packing in new figures within a mini diorama or "big" accessory piece...  Even army builders and semi-new figures or kitbashes would be better.

For instance, an Endor "briefing" set...  Include a kitbashed Endor soldier, a Rebel Pilot repaint (new head would be neat, or reuse a "generic" head), and maybe a new or semi-new figure (Dressellian COmmando WITHOUT eyepatch would rock).

The idea's sound, the price is about right, the execution sucked...  At least on these later ones.

He was wearing a knock off Revenge of the Sith shirt, I don't think that is a good sign.

Wow, the unprecedented move of wearing a SW shirt on a first date.  I don't know if I should be impressed at the size of his gargantuan pair to pull that maneuver on you Princess, or if I should be ashamed for every man who owns a SW T-Shirt out there...

I have SW T-Shirts (not many),a nd I do wear them on occassion, but dates are not that occassion unless it's to a cruddy bar and I've dated that person for long enough that she's pretty much immune to the embarassment I draw towards myself.

On a related note my GF got me the Stormtrooper with Crossbones shirt from Hot Topic for Christmas, but immediately let out a groan when I wore it while I drug her looking for toys one night.

She stays with me though because I'm the magic man baby!!!  Daw Yeah!

*sigh* :-\

And Pittsburgh continues on its Winter of utter stupidity with temps in the 60's the next couple days, then POSSIBLY a snow on Friday/Saturday.

Possibly...

We've had a dusting this year, that's about it really.  Tons of rain.  Every storm hitting Cali is coming here then, which means the leak in my car is just making me change out the towels more often and make sure the plastic's secured.  Had it all been snow, we'd have been screwed as far as traveling any distance goes...  Instead we just got more flooding.

I had flashbacks to the great flood of '04.   :o

Yeah I'd heard that too...  Forget where I saw that...  Probably the history channel or something.

He looks like he's fun though.  Kinda reminds me of a demented William Hung.  Like William Hung on meth or something.
