Some sort of Dexter Jettster type Jedi

I think this guy could deal with Grievous 4 arms lightsaber style, and will be a redemption to reptilian guys (more important for fans who wanted a good trandoshian) The Filoni team began using a non very agresive like species
the tortoise Dexter like Jedi.

I agree with the posts according to the redefinition of the Gungans: as Grievous is bullying them, they show spirit, and become less naif and useful for the fight.

Anakin / Grievous

Grievous: I didnīt expect you were so young.

Anakin: I expected you were taller, General.

With all respect to the PT, they should fight, at least once, cause Ashoka was dealing with the cyborg in the first 2 seasons.

This cliché could be mended making both characters fight in a dark scenario.

Ackbar comes for season 4 as an anphibious guy
more duels: Dooku, jedi, Grievous; as they are changing timeline I hope they modify the boring cliché of Anakin never see Grievous, that would be challeging. Make them fight Filoniīs team

This last episode showed the return to order (to the Jedi status quo)
also a wide range of variations for Trandoshans in color, patterns of stripes and complexion.
The boss guy had unike spikes on head, curious.

Other well oriented feature was the "animalization" of this hunters, their alarm cry, hisses... I think is a blink to esb scene when Bossk faced Piett and growled for his bount hunters related commentary.

vinty Skiff Lando has a very nice silver paintjob for shoulder plates, in saga version these parts seem to fade out.
But I recognize the improvement in helmet design, more coloured.

Potf2 was more muscular than saga version, but depicted a better paintjob on armor and belts.

About Padawan Lost, was a episode that gave inside to Jedi younlings skills, and the trandoshans habits: rude, cruel, they also need cremonies of initiation, like the son of the trandoshan chief who wanted to kill a padawan alone.

Some Trandoshans looked like the saurin guy HRCHEK KAL FAS, mmm, saurins have five fingers, trandoshan less.

I think they could give more screen to the snivian guy, he was dressed like Zutton, his appearance is like an interpretation of the OT character.

I think, the producers want to introduce other aspects of the war not contemplated in the PT, for example
-with Even Piellīs death they show a very narrow escape; the Jedi and rank officers like Tarkin are outnumbered
-The dog, hyena or caninus beast that killed Piell, in some way pinpoints the weakness of this character, not of his function on story, but in military terms.
Piell died because the beast bit him in the troath, the Jedi took a mortal wound, impossible to mend the situation.
What happens in that process: the beast uses his weight to immobilize Piells tiny arms, Asoka was occupied with several attackers, she force grab the dog beast too late. (again, itīs a narrow escape with a narrow defense)
In some ways is disgusting Piell only appeared in two episodes, they could have expanded his adventures.
It seems too much in that situation, but Why a Jedi canīt use a force lift without the aid of his hands?
Piell could geminate or mimic Yoda in some aspects, but his power is less significative.
I am not at currant with Pt EU novels, but in this series of Clone Wars, where "only the strong" are surviving, Yaddle is the next candidate to die in that way, too.

tvc General Lando depiction is very cool
they made an effort to show details such as wrist watch, bandolier, buttons in the collar of the shirt, wich were already on saga version, but is the chance to test a superarticulated version

I think the solid sculpt of previous saga is not diminished with this version, it could serve for dioramas were Lando is stand up, like the briefing room.

This tvc version is ideal to fit in the BMF cabin... well playable figure, decent, fine.

Perhaps Filoni could have save Piel for another episodes to geminate a Jedi like Yoda, another smaller master fighting droids etc.

The dead of Piel is kinda veritable, surprised by a beast, without oportunity to kill it.

Perhaps this would upset collectors who expected a clone wars animated version of him

Asoka is evolving in skills, she saved Tarkin, killing the annoying guy.

the producers intended to show a rough escape, losts of clones died in the way, and Tarkin risked to die by the hands of the reptile Osi.

an aditional thought about vc 44 Luke

It seems according to the pics on 2 websites, that there are 2 different paintjob finishes

on bantahskull, the version with the less accomplished paintjob: part of the interior of the holster is orange instead of brown, and the bands of the boots are very faded pinted.

On yakface we see the average version: holster brown in the interior and bands of the boots light gray.

For the advance of interpretation of the character, we will find more discerning versions when the Attakus metal Dagobah Landing Luke will be released. At current time we donīt have the finished work of Attakus to compare both figures of the same scale.

About white clone trooper: tvc version is taller and slimmer than the original 2003 release.
The risk of slimmer versions is that they lose the appearance of a normal configuration
the slimmer the figure, the most it looks like animated style.

I want to talk about VC44 Luke Dagobah Landing

advance in depiction: the helmet has the most complete paintjob ever, only missing the part for the phone
it is also the first time a Lukeīs blaster comes with brown handle

Head sculpt is very accurate.

retreat in depiction
all silver buttons of the front of the figure are missing in the paintjob, specially on his utility belt.
the figure is a bit smaller than tlc snowspeeder version, which is based upon.

« on: March 8, 2011, 01:11 PM »
I agree, the vinty Weequay rules. His expression seems very accurate, he is depicted younger in the original release.
potf2 faded the color of his shirt, from turquoise to light grey.
I only have the vintage version, but wish to collect the other release too
potf2 shows a different interpretation of the character, he is in a ready position, more tensed, while vintage Weequay stands on a more natural and relaxed position (less separated feet)

I think the tvc update will be appreciated in a next wave or design of 60 more figures. It will be a challenge for Hasbro sculptors. They will discuss posseability and likeness (maybe other disposition of his braids, different from the skiff master).

Lots of accesories for the RFT, missing the holster, but perhaps is due to show a better sight of the legs sculpt, which depict the wear of loose pants.

I like this version of Han, taller and slimmer than previous. Then it could be say that the thin legs are reflex of the tight pants.

Logray is represented as a cool evolution of this figure. Like the paintjob.

about episode 19 of season 3: they bring back the concept of anti air craft turrets from the video games, so it was the way the commando droid hit Anakin and Pielīs stap, plus this turret hit the stationed shuttle.

Collect All 92! / Re: Weequay
« on: March 4, 2011, 08:43 PM »
Vintage Weequay: The head was the necessary accurate for the time, so was its colour. The braid counted with all the necessary reliefs.

potf2 weequay: showed a more compressed style of head, very clever job. It anticipated the flat ears of weequay species. braids the same way, close to each other, but showed the appearance of layers with extra paint job.

tvc: the most accurate head, cause the ears are very flat and it is the first time the braids are depicted separately.

Perhaps even at this time, thiner braids would risk to break with head movement or manipulation. (The top of braids seems to be 4, but with 2 is ok)
