Upon review of this fine site, Dressel Rebel officially condemns myspace.com.  This site seems like nothing more than a magnet for pillars of society such as pedophiles, rapists, and other assorted winners.  Even when used for it's intended purpose, this site basically serves as a narcissitical self-tribute where the user basically builds a shrine to pay homage to...well...themselves.  Silly stuff.

I'm not a big user of myspace, (I signed up for an account last year sometime I think and never did much with it).  Like AOL, it's a great way for people who don't know a lot to be able to interact with others on the internet, like most of us have been doing for years without it's help.

Still, it does have a cool community feature about it.  I'll definitely vouch for that:  In the last year, even though I never update the thing, 3 people who I'd lost touch with found me through that website and we've started talking again because of it.  One was a cousin who I haven't seen since I was a freshman in high school.

I guess it's not all bad.

Wouldn't that sort of defeat the whole purpose of the secret santa thing?

My gift was sent and received awhile back.  Does my recipient now have to know who sent them their wonderous present because a couple of people are still late?

Did I mention that a good portion of those prizes would invariably be passed on to the fine readers and forum members of JD via a pile of great give-aways!

Uh oh, you've just given the "what's in it for me?" people a candidate to vote for.   ;D

Dustin's thread didn't start off much better.

Hopefully they've both calmed down for good now.

Good luck in the campaign.  Looks like you have your work cut out for you with Dustin and whoever that USC guy is fighting it out for 1st and 2nd.

Oh, and remember...if you win, on stage at Comic Con be sure to denounce hyperspace as the suckhole of suck that it is.

JD is getting ready to endorse a candidate as well.

So who's it going to be?  Every day they don't pipe up is a day they lose the opportunity to win.  ;D

Indie films are things that have hardly any studio backing and small budgets.  Hardly any of these fit the bill to a tee

Clerks was an Indie movie, yes?
What about the rest of Kevin Smith's movies.  They're just about my favorite, so I guess I'd love to say I'm an indie movie guy.   ;D

Do they pass the criteria?

Canon was very good about it and I sent the camera in and had it back in a week cleaned (CMOS) as well.

DBK

How much was it to do the cleaning?

Josh, have you ever had any problems with your Tamron lens

Twice, it wasn't recognized by my XT and I have to reboot, but other than that...no, it works great.  I primarily used it on my Elan IIE film camera, and don't use it much with the XT anyway.

I saw he said yes, but want to see what would REALLY happen if it happened....
probably an excuse to not allow it...

Well....you may get your wish.  Apparently everyone's favorite intellectual powerhouse "Lady" Jaye and everyone's favorite forum toddler Dark Kanos are willing to give it a go.

I personally would love to see how that campaign goes. I even did a poster for them (I lack Rob's excellent skills).

I think Dustin has it in the bag....more power to him. I am curious though who that other guy with the 9 votes is.

After much research, I chose the Sigma 70-300

I've got a Tamron 70-300 that I don't use very often, but it is about as close as I get to telephoto.

Also, here is a slideshow of some of the shots that I took with the 350D.

Your monkey pictures are excellent.  ;D

I really want to see a promotion thread to support someone else over at RS to see if they will really allow it...

I asked if I could run and promote my campaign in the forums over there.

They said yes.  ;D

Ahhhh.  You know, I think I read about that and how I got over my fear was by going down to the local Kits cameras.  I don't purchase equipment there, but they do know a lot about cameras, so I try to buy my accessories, film and prints from them.

They said that if the CCD gets dusty (which could happen if you change lenses in a dirty enviornment, or don't keep your lenses protected)...they do have ways to clean it, and it is expensive.

I pretty much leave my lens on there all the time now anyway.  I bought the Canon 17-85 Image Stabilzer lens, which does pretty much all the types of shots I want to do.  I barely use my long lens anymore, and I'm going to sell the short one I had.

So...we're now past Valentines and on to Easter.

Is that a record?

Josh, did you ever resolve the dust issues you were concerned about and if so, how?

Can you remind me which issues they were?
