Saga '02-'04 / Re: 3 Toughest SAGA Items to Find
« on: October 6, 2003, 10:03 AM »
Trash Compactor sets: saw only one Leia & Chewie set and bought it... Never seen the Han & Luke one.  guess I'll have to go to ebay or an e-tailer.

Holiday Droids - never seen them... hopefully one day I'll own them.

Ephant Mon - actually had a lady at KB hold it and called me when it came it.  The only other time I saw one, I passed on it since I had won it on another site, but the sponser never came through.  Only sent the other figs it the contest.

Officer and Rebel Trooper head varients until recently.

Anakin & Dooku speeders - still don't have them and haven't ever seen them, though I've heard of recent sitings in my general area.

Kamino Deluxe Jango Fett & Obi-Wan - same as above... never seen them.

Screen Scenes Set 1 for both Geonosian  War Room & Jedi Council - still never seen either.  I've seen the 2nd sets of both 3 times recently.

Ashla & Jempa (Jedi Padawans) - only found them once, but thanks to JediMac, I already had them.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Hold the phone--"Deluxe" Rieekan?

CHEWIE... you're not the same CHEWIE from CorePlanets in MO are you?  That's a good idea... hadn't though about getting multiples and doing head swaps.

How about an Obi with a catwalk and tractor beam console thingy?  That would look pretty sweet if done right, I think.  Or for a Tatooine Ultra set like the Jabba's Palace Ultra set, how about a 3-pack of droids from the "Purchase of the droids" scene?  A mining droid, R5-D4 (finally done right), and the treadwell droid.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Cantina Wave 2 Sets a No Go (For now)
« on: September 3, 2003, 12:05 PM »
Okay, I'm probably showing my ignorance here (and I haven't watched ANH closely in forever), but in the cantina, does the bar have barstools?  I don't ever remember seeing barstools.   Just curious, since as much as I like the Cantina Wave sets, it just doesn't seem movie accurate to me.... not that Hasbro really worries about that.

Okay, guess I'm gonna revisit all Wish Lists.   I never voted on this the first time, so I'll start with the list of winners:

Quote
1. Swokes Swokes (Gragra)
2. Queen's Handmaiden
3. Yaddle (Jedi Master)
4. Tey How (Neimoidian Controller)
5. Yarael Poof (Jedi Master)
6. Queen Amidala Celebration Gown
7. Daultay Dofine (Neimoidian)
8. Kister/Wald (Anakin's Buddies)
9. Oppo Ranciscis (Jedi Master)
10. Ratts Tyrell (Pod Racer)

So, since they made #3 Yaddle, #5 Yarael Poof and #9 Oppo Ranciscis in the Screen Scenes, here are my replacements:

1. Swokes Swokes (Gragra)
2. Queen's Handmaiden (Orange/Yellow)
3. Queen's Handmaiden (Maroon)
4. Tey How (Neimoidian Controller)
5. Amidala Pre-Senate
6. Queen Amidala Celebration Gown
7. Daultay Dofine (Neimoidian)
8. Kister/Wald (Anakin's Buddies)
9. Naboo Pilot (knee & elbow articulation) with softgoods trenchcoat
10. Ratts Tyrell (Pod Racer)

What was I thinking???  I just re-read my list and released I took Hem Dazon off the list!  I guess I'll have to remove #8  Wioslea, since I like the boring human Dannik Jerriko.

232
Well,  It looks like I should be VERY happy, as my top 3 choices are confirmed figures for 2004.  So, it looks like I need to update my ANH wishlist as well.  I believe we are supposed to get a CZ droid with the inevitable Sandcrawler & Hem Dazon is rumored, so I won't add either.

[Edited to take into consideration JediMAC's observation that some of us have been a tad overzealous using cinema scene and deluxe figures].

1. General Jan Dodonna
2. Captain Antilles
3. R1-G4 [to replace Scene Pack Sandcrawler droids 3 packs (especially R1-G4, R5-D4 & the mining droid).]
4. General Tagge [to take the place of my original #4, which was Deluxe Death Star Tractorbeam console/catwalk w/ Obi-Wan Kenobi w/ hood down]
5. Dannik Jerriko
6. Bom Vimdin
7. Myo
8. Colonel Wulf Yularen
9. R5-D4
10. Hem Dazon

So, my new improved list:

#1   General Tagge
#2   Colonel Wulf Yularen
#3   R5-D4 (resulpt) - I don't count the Star Tours one.
#4   Treadwell Droid (Purchase of the droids)
#5   Mining droid (Purchase of the droids)
#6   Dannik Jerriko
#7   Bom Vimdin
#8   Wioslea
#9   Tonnika Sisters
#10 Yavin Rebel Technician

Looks like I was either too busy or just too good for this poll.  Regardless, I never replied, so I'll take my starting list from the winning list:

#1 Chief Chirpa/Lumat
#2 General Madine
#3 Hermi Odle
#4 Yarna d'al Gargan
#5 Endor Leia (resculpt)
#6 Endor Luke (resculpt)
#7 Warok/ Romba
#8 J'Quille
#9 R2-D2 (Bartender)
#10 Moff Jerjerrod

Since we are getting #9 R2 (bartender), Jabba (without his dais ...d@mn!!!), and Rappertunie & there are  rumors of General Madine, and I really don't care to see Hasbro attempt yet another Endor Leia rescuplt, then here is my list:

#1  Moff Jerjerrod
#2  Yarna d'al Gargan
#3  Weequay drummer for the band
#4  Hermi Odle
#5  Warok/ Romba
#6  Chief Chirpa/Lumat
#7  Hermi Odle
#8  Bib Fortuna (resculpt)
#9  General Madine [okay... I really want him and he's only a rumor, so far]
#10 Vintage Imperial Dignatary (resculpt) [he was the coolest looking]

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: The Slaughter of the Padawans
« on: August 29, 2003, 02:34 PM »
Lucas has not shown any graphic deaths at all.  Even the SE changed some of the blaster deaths to be less graphic and  Solo shot 2nd to make him more "family friendly".   They may show the padawans fighting bravely before the temple was blown up (but seen from a distance on the outside), but they will not show a padawan dying, nor do I believe they will show one of their dead bodies afterwards (like a pile of Jawas in ANH).

235
1.  Major Bren Derlin
2.  General Veers
3.  Lobot resculpt
4.  R-3PO
5.  Admiral Ozzel
6.  Captain Needa
7.  General Rieekan
8.  Bespin gown Leia
9.  Deluxe Ugnaught
10. Black Bespin Guard

Okay, so we have General Carlist Rieekan and R-3PO (according to the Japanese catalog shots ) coming now, I guess I will replace them with Dagobah Luke and now I can finally jump on the icecream maker guy bandwagon as my last choice..

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Your Best of 2003 (So Far)
« on: August 26, 2003, 05:30 PM »
Well, it took me until mid-July to start finding any "new" 2003 figures, but here is my list (in no particular order):

Aayla Secura (points for articulation, points off for the look of the joints and the magnet sticking out of her hand)
Barriss Offee (even with the extreme pose, the sculpt is awesome)
Han Solo in Hoth Gear (I agree, points off for extreme stance, but then again, now he can sit on the new TaunTaun and Hasbro did listen enough to make 2 coat colors)
Yoda & Chian 2 pack - (Great sculpts)
Ashla & Jempa 2 pack - (Great sculpts)
Coleman Trebor (again, a great sculpt)

I haven't seen these, but I can't wait to on the following:

Screen Scenes:
Poggle the Lesser
Shu Mai
San Hill
Yarael Poof
Yaddle
Oppo Rancisis

I actually liked the "play-ability" of the Mace Windu (Arena Confrontation) figure.  I won't be sticking it in any diorama or even a little scene, but when I get the Genosian Arena out with my son, we play with that Mace figure.

Worst of 2003:

"Flying" R2
re-release of Jango Fett - Kamino Escape (okay, I can buy that some newer collectors don't have the some of the POTF2 figures that they re-released, but these were pegwarmers when they were released last year)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: What 2003 SAGA product are you still missing?
« on: June 19, 2003, 05:19 PM »
I really don't even want to reply to this topic.   >:( >:( >:( >:(I had lived in Long Island and made toy runs to every store in the area and in in NYC when I went.    :(  I have yet to find my first 2003 figure and no one I talked to in New York  (on Long Island) had any luck either.    :o  Now that I've moved back to St. Louis, I found the Imperial 4-pack at TRU, so I finally have my FIRST 2003 figures.   However, according to people here, the 2003 figures, though hard to find, have been shipping, so I might not find the figures shipped earlier in the year.   I had hoped that they would hit LI before I left, thinking that all cases would hit, starting with the first from 2003....NO SUCH LUCK!    So, hopefully things will start shipping again and I can get caught up.  My fear is that these figures will turn out to be like the final waves of Ep I (like holo sidieous, Sio Bibble, etc).

Hope all of you are doing much better... it seems like it according to the posts!  :( :( :(

Saga '02-'04 / Re: The Official Ewok Village Thread
« on: June 13, 2003, 05:33 PM »
I like the vintage one and like I said before, if they did a simple resculpt, I'd buy it.  I also wouldn't mind an enlarged single tree/hut where the top either pops open or it has no front, just the back with either windows or the door leading to out to the wooden bridges.   Maybe with a pre-built place to attach the ewok helmet drums that came in the Target exclusive set.

I never saw the compiled list on this... did I miss something?

Saga '02-'04 / Re: What figure will they never make?
« on: May 28, 2003, 01:00 PM »
Aside from the Holiday Special, which I think should be off limits for this thread (or you could name just about every character in the thing other than Zutton), I'm going for just about any gungan on the high council sitting by Boss Nass or other minor Ep 1 characters like Republic Cruiser Captain.
