Discover the Force / Movie Heroes / Re: 2012 Movie Heroes Line
« on: September 14, 2011, 07:02 PM »
Hmm, "movie heroes".  Interesting name...  Curious though, why the change in names ultimately?  Ruling out EU all together I guess?

Get those space troopers while you can!

Hopefully these will be the same figures we've come to know and love from LEGENDS but in attractive new packaging and at a higher price point.  :P

Saw the 30th Stalker and Cobra trooper at Wal-Mart. They scanned as "see associate..." there wasn't even a spot for GI JOE items in the store, either.

I want the dead Ewok, with built in sound feature...plays that sad music.

It's still strange they've never made the horn blowing Ewok. Or the victory drummer, since they made the drum set (half-assed set in the accessory pack).

Rebelscum reports that AT-RT with Boil, BARC with Jesse and Freeco speeder with Obi-Wan are appearing in the newer packaging (now without the backdrop  :( ) So much for getting rid of the older peg warmers! (Only Target made that effort, though.) Jesse and even Boil I can understand, but if they had to keep shipping Freecos, they should've done the Clone Trooper one.

Got General Calrissian from TRU, vintage sale $7. Cuz there wasn't much to choose from.

Have to say, if I had it to do over again...I'd leave him on the pegs. Just not an especially good figure. On paper it's great, in reality...Groucho Marx eyebrows, the cape scaled for a 5" Batman figure, the elbows designed so he cannot come close to reaching his holster with his right hand. The "big bonus" articulation, ball jointed calves that just make getting him in sitting pose awkward, unless he's mounted on a horse, which I think Hasbro thinks he rode one, based on the POTF2 version.

Since it's 9/11's tenth anniversary...I'd say "truthers" and apologists for murderous whackos piss me off.

If that's too political for this forum, well...I don't care. Delete it.

The only major thing the POTJ one had over the Kenner one is a more accurate headsculpt.  Kenner made those soft good well, made a bit player into an action figure. One of their best.

No new figs at my TRU. Saw the Assassin Spider droid battle pack, though. I think the droid could be more articulated. So I passed.

Got Rishi Outpack Attack battle pack for $17 at Wal-Mart. Those commando droids seem even smaller out of the package (never owned any before now).  :-\

Target's $18 sale on the Battle Packs shows that no one likes Obi-Wan again...8 sets at one store and 7 of them were Geonosis packs. (I'd be inclined to get that one but I just won the Geonosian on ebay by himself).

It's just his name...Shawn Valdez...so Earthling.  ;) Shouldn't it be Wansh Delvaz or something?

Rest his soul? Lee Greenwood is still alive, despite my efforts.  >:D

As long as they never make Shawn Valdez, I'm cool with unique rebels.

2012 can't come soon enough.

Based on Hasbro scheduling, we've already seen everything that will actually be released in 2012.

Looking good for Princess Kneesa in 2012 too...

We will finally know where woklings come from.  ;D

Actually, I had the plush Kneesa from 83-84, I knew where they came from.  ;)

What do you think the odds are that in 2012 they'll dig out Maul's Sith Attack Speeder for the deluxe line and give it to Savage Opress. Maybe the Gungan cannon will return, too...seems less likely, though, even with Gungan set to appear on TCW.
