Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A thread about concerts.

Just got back from the A Perfect Circle show. Maynard spent the entire show on a platform set back further from the rest of the band. His face was difficult if not impossible to see due to his hair and position. The only way you could tell it was him was the voice or the tattoo on his back.

The show was about an hour and fifteen minutes, not counting the opening act, Den of Fools or something. They sucked. APC rocked.

last time i saw them in nyc a year or so ago he did the same thing... kinda weird, but then again, this is maynard we're talking about... did they play diary of a madman??

Kubricks / Series 2

Look, here's my certificate showing this is a rare Indiana Jones Kubrick figure.

It looks like a Han Solo box.

Well yes, but it has the Indiana Jones figure inside.

It looks like a Han Solo box.

I said, it has an Indiana Jones figure inside.

Yes, but...

It looks like a Han Solo box....

lol... now that's funny.

Hmm!  Thats a good idea Scott. I will take that into account when they arrive. If infact I do get an Indy, I will take the scale test.  ;)  I'll do the feel test & the scale test on the Han boxes. I still have my reloading scale from weighing gun powder when I was making my own ammo.

you should weigh them before you open them tho, just in case you rip any of the paper off or chip off some glue  ;) - 'cause then you'd get some false readings... :)

Watto's Junk Yard / a christmas fable

A CHRISTMAS FABLE

Not long ago and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip, but
there were problems everywhere...four of his elves got sick and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.  Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her mom was coming to visit, this stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out Heaven knows where... more stress!  Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the boards cracked and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys.  Totally frustrated, Santa went to the house for a cup of coffee with a shot of whiskey.  When he opened the cupboard, he discovered the elves had hit the liquor and there was nothing left to drink!  In his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw it was made from.  Just then, the doorbell rang.  Santa opened the door and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.  The angel asked, "Where would you like to put this tree fat man"?

...and that my friends is how the little angel came to be on top of the Christmas tree!

now, my question here is, obviously... how can you sell a chase figure in a sealed box, yet gaurantee it's a chase figure? are they just hoping that you never open the box to check? or is there a way to tell without opening the box. now, i'll admit up front that i don't really know much about these kubricks (yet, although it appears that i have a set on the way  ;) ), and the only one i have in my possession is a loose boba fett that i got in a trade, but i was under the assumption that the chase figures came in the same box as the regular figure, and you have to open the box to find out which version you got, correct? if that is the case, how can you sell a sealed box and gaurantee that it contains a chase figure?

well, let them try. it's one of the "lighter" artists i listen to, and usually only when i'm in a certain mood. most of the time my audio entertainment comes from the likes of napalm death, dying fetus, blood duster, morbid angel, and the aforementioned hatebreed. so a bunch of 12 year olds with baseball caps on backwards don't really scare me, if you know what i mean...

This is just conjecture on my part, but I'm guessing that we'll see the next generation of consoles from Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo in Fall 2005, two years from now.
have you heard the rumors of the new  version of the ps2 that is supposed to be released in japan early in 2004 and a few months later stateside? supposed to be a suped-up version of the ps2 with a dvd recorder and built in hard drive. the name escapes me at the moment, and all the real details are very hush hush.

All blah-bity-blah aside, I think that a GameCube plus four full Zelda games for $100 is a hell of a deal.  The low price kind of betrays the strength of the system, in my opinion.  It really is a good one, and a lot of the great games can be had on the cheap nowadays.

i'll agree with you there, since i just bit the bullet and picked up a gc a few days back simply because of the zelda disc. which i can't stop playing, btw. while all the other exclusive games (mario, resident evil and star wars plus tons of others) couldn't get me to bite, the free zelda did the trick. sucker, ain't i??

definitely nice work there brad... great banners, every one... not sure if you are doing anymore/want to do anymore, but i'd like to see one similar to the one you made with the 12back logo, but using the classic potf logo. that was always my favorite vintage card... just an idea.
