Saga '02-'04 / Re: Santa Yoda!
« on: December 3, 2003, 06:48 PM »
update: 12/3 and guess what? no santa yoda. guess the six weeks on my calender ran out faster than the fan club calender...  ::) bunch of b.s.

and now they want me to spend more money to renew my subscription and fan club membership? why? so i can get to order things first but have other - non fan club members - receive their items before i get mine?

and what about hyperspace? i won one of the crappy jedimasterpoints auctions for a hyperspace membership and sent my points on 11/18... haven't heard from that yet either. am i surprised? no, just pissed off now...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Vintage gaming nerds, check this out:
« on: December 2, 2003, 07:37 PM »
when you typed "vintage gaming nerds", you really meant old people, right?? ;) ;D

man, if you guys want some classic arcade stuff, you gotta get mame (multi arcade machine emulator, or something)... i have over 300 classic roms for that thing, and i can sit here and play all day. it's kinda "bootleg" so there's no worries about liscensing, and who doesn't want to sell the rights to their games or any of that other bs that goes on. and the roms are the exact roms that were used back in the day in the big arcade boxes. graphics are 100% exact - just like they were back in the day.

i also noticed today that x-box is going to have an intellivision classics disc coming out - or it might be out already. that might be something i need to pick up...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Favorite James Bond Misc.
« on: November 30, 2003, 07:22 PM »
outside of star wars, bond might just be my favorite franchise of movies. i have all of them on dvd except "on her majesty's secret service" and "live and let die" - only because i couldn't find those two back when they were available. now they are only available in a box set, with 4 or 5 other bond movies that i already have... so it looks like i won't be adding them to my collection any time soon...  >:(

favorite bond movie?
tie between dr. no and goldfinger

favorite bond?
sean connery all the way

favorite bond girl?
i love the old school bond stuff the best, but who can resist denise richards as dr. christmas jones in the world is not enough?

favorite bond villain?
goldfinger

favorite bond car?
aston marin db5 from goldfinger:
it had the following features.
- hydraulic rams, front and back (sequence not shown in film)
- bulletproof glass in all windows
- armoured rear shield which can raise to give extra protection to the back of the car
- revolving english, french and swiss licence plates - one of my favorite all time bond gadgets!!
- high powered oil-jet in rear light clusters
- device at the rear to drop nails (this device was not shown, to avoid encouraging children)
- pipe to shoot smoke from the rear of the car
- ben-hur style wheel-cruncher in front nearside wheel
- mobile phone in driver’s door panel (not shown in goldfinger)
- weapons tray beneath the drivers seat (also not shown in goldfinger)
- onboard radar screen for tracking homing device across the world
- weapons control panel in the center arm rest
- passenger ejector seat, operated by a hidden button in the gearstick

favorite theme song?
just the classic old school theme... dun dadada dun, dun dun dadada dun... lol.

favorite bond gadget?
the briefcase in "from russia with love" - equipped with a small knife concealed in the side, 20 rounds of ammo, 50 gold sovereigns, an ar7 sniper's rifle and a canister of tear gas which would explode if the case is opened the wrong way. either that or the car that had the anti-theft device of exploding when someone attempted to steal it, but i don't remember which movie (or car) that was.

Here are some of the CURRENT pegwarmers as of 11/30...
- Unleashed Dooku

wow, can't believe that unleashed dooku is a peg warmer anywhere. i couldn't find him or mace (or any of the other unleashed for that matter) anywhere near my house, had to get them from some online friends  ;)

dooku is actually one of the harder ones to come by, and fetches some nice money on ebay from time to time

1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: Your 12" Figure Collection .
« on: November 30, 2003, 02:27 AM »
so i've been buying 12" figures for a while now, pretty much since '95, and storing them waiting for a good time to open them and a good place to display them. well, i finally got tired of waiting and just opened as many of them as i could fit on these two shelves a few weeks ago:

i've still got a few more to open, but now i really have no where to put them. and for some reason, i couldn't bring myself to open the speederbikes, i don't know why. i think they just look so cool in those boxes and i'm afraid they won't stand up once i take them out  :D

and after i took those pics, i added a plo koon and a few others to the shelf... have to get some updated pics taken.... soon, hopefully soon. enjoy!!!

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / Re: AE's Jabba's Dias Custom
« on: November 30, 2003, 01:59 AM »
looks good, real nice... like you said, just add some head pieces - even if you just got some molds from the vintage one, they would work nicely with the right paint job. great stuff... this is one of the things that i've been meaning to do, one of the dioramas that i want to start working on. maybe now that i'm kinda getting back into customizing i'll actually start on it...  ;)

so, today i decided that since i haven't made any custom figures in a few years, that i would sit down and make one... so i picked roron corobb, ithorian jedi from the clone wars.

i finally figured out a good use for the lower torso/pants that came from that awful potf lando :)

head/forearms-hands/upper torst/feet: momaw nadon
lower torso-legs: potf lando
upper arms: saga nikto jedi
skirt: ep1 obi-wan

did you ever have like 12 things you have/want to do, all at the same time, and just didn't know what to do first? that's pretty much where i am right now. chances are good that none of the things i have/want to do will get done, i'll probably just veg out and watch tv all night instead...  ::)
