Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Last Time You Threw Up
« on: December 6, 2005, 11:39 AM »
I puked ... after mixing beer and hard liquor for a while.

Ouch.  That sounds like the first time I "overdid" it.  Of course, I didn't know any better, but I had many different brands of beer with vodka, rum and Jack Daniels interspersed in there.

Needless to say, I worshipped at the ceramic throne a few times that night and was not a happy camper in the morning.

Here are some good words to live by. I've heard many variations, but I like this one the best:

"Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquour before beer, never fear."

For those aware of the cretin..
it would seem greenday has reared his ugly mug again.

SHEESH.. what a train wreck at times.
Yea.... I can't believe they let him back.  :P

Its not so much they let him back as much as they can't effectively ban him and stop him from making new usernames.

Hell no!

Come to think of it all started when my wife game me a orange card POTF Dagobah Luke on our 5th date.

Thats when you know the relationship is starting to get serious. Where I'm from, you usually don't even get a major character until at least the 10th date...but I guess we were raised differently.

Welcome! I think you will find that this is one of the best collector sites out there, and there are a lot of great people here, as well as great discussions!

I think most of us made this decision a long time ago  ;)

If it was Star Wars figures in general, I would say for the perfect woman yes. If it was for action figures in general, I'd say no. I can live without Leia, but take away all my Teelas, Baronesses, and Elektras, and I'd be a sad existance.

I decided to check out this forum after being banned. Little did I know that I would be the topic of discussion. I think this whole situation is insane. It was clearly a joke and I was banned not for the comment, but because of the reaction to it.

Anyone who was offended really needs to lighten up. I think it's a pretty damn well known fact that chocolate can kill a dog. I know the poster is a kid and I am also quite sure that he made the post just for ***** and the events discussed did not really occur. Even if they did, posting about it on a toy forum is completly inappropriate.

As for his banning, DD has been warned before about saying this and other negative stuff. It was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I normally wouldn't want another member to be banned, but DD was always nasty,

What the hell are you talking about? I was never warned about doing anything. I'm a unique guy, and I like to display that on the forums. I say what's on my mind instead of conforming to the general generic opinion. It's so dry there and I just wanted to add some... pizzazz. I never meant to be nasty, if I came across that wat.

Post count? What the ****? You've got to be ******** me.

Anyway, just wanted to state my case...

Maybe you didn't seem to come across this way, but the majority of your posts are/were negative. There is a difference between conforming to the general opinion and being a jerk. Maybe you didn't mean them to sound like that, and if thats so I think its a misunderstanding.

I thought that you were warned before for saying stuff like this, and I know you've had some of your responses edited down in the past. If I'm mistaken I'm sorry.

As for the post count thing, I retract my statement. It just seemed at the time most of your posts were just to say something negative and not to add to the discussion.

Now that I mull over the topic more, I don't think you needed to be banned; maybe suspended. I agree with you that you were banned due to the public reaction to your comment, but they wouldn't have banned you just over the comment unless you had problems in the past.

Either way, whats done is done. Hopefully you will enjoy it here, and I hope we can get along here.  8)

About the dog thing:

Really, who's worse...the guy that joked about giving a dog chocolate or the yutz who went to a SW forum for his pet's needs rather than a vet or even an animal-related website?  Honestly, that's just flat out stupid.  Maybe Dark Destiny's comment was off-color, but in my opinion the original poster deserved a lot more flak than that sarcastic remark.  And for those saying "what if the owner didn't know and actually gave him chocoloate"...are you kidding?  Anyone that doesn't know that dogs can't eat chocolate shouldn't own a ******* dog.

As far as his banning, I think that was a big harsh as well.  I like Dave, but I think he acted a bit hastily, assuming the comment was the sole reasoning behind the banning.  He should have at least been warned first.

As far as Dustin:

Quote
"You're Phillip Wise's Rick McCallum"

Solid...*******...gold.  :D

John

I agree that people should know that chocolate is bad for dogs, but that doesn't mean people should be instructing others to feed them chocolate assuming they know. The forums are filled with many young kids, and since it would be their family dog and not their own, they may not know. It's just not worth the risk making a joke like that IMO.

As for his banning, DD has been warned before about saying this and other negative stuff. It was just the straw that broke the camel's back. I normally wouldn't want another member to be banned, but DD was always nasty, usually just for the sake of being mean and watching his post count go up in the process, rarely adding anything to a real conversation.

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: November 29, 2005, 11:52 AM »
According to a news blurb at TheGD.com, it is rumored that there will be a BAF of Onslaught for Marvel Legends 13.  Grain of salt and all that, but that's the latest on the rumored pack in for that wave (since the "henchmen" have apparently been dropped).

While this is nothing more than a rumor, I believe it might be true. Given the obscure characters we are getting from Toy Biz in the next year, I really would not be suprised at all if we did get Onslaught. I know I'd love it.

Other Toy Lines / Re: What other 70s & 80s toy lines do you collect?

I thought about getting into collecting GI Joe, but my wife says I need to pick one hobby and stay with it.  So I'm staying with Star Wars.  I may try to pick up a Flint or Dusty figure at some point.

Collecting both Star Wars and G.I. Joe will leave you poor  :-\ My goal used to be to get one of every Joe 3 3/4 figure, but there are just too many Joes for a poor college student like me to get at this time.

Someday I will do it though....someday....

I'm glad they banned him for that one.  Infact I suggested it in that thread.  There's no excuse for making an offhanded "tongue in cheek" comment that could kill someone's dog - especially without any use of smilies or ANY indication that it was a joke until he got called out on it.

I agree. There are kids who read the forums there, and think how they would feel if they knew they accidentally killed their family pet because some a-hole thought it was funny? Dark Destiny had it coming...look at any of his posts: they are almost always negative. He did nothing positive for the forum there and I'm glad to see his trolling ass booted.  >:(

Hey, this sucker worked when I was at work earlier today.  8)  So far I'm the only Canucklehead reporting in.  :'(

Not any more, pops.  I'm in.

And I don't think GNT is in Perth, is he?  I thought he was on the East side of the country.

Either way he's back on the list as living in Perth, sans message/comment this time.
