Even Piell continuity explained.

Hmm, thanks... I guess it lessens my anger a bit because they at least try to fix/clean up the situation, but I'm still upset that they tried to do away with the original EU material so easily. Hopefully Filoni (or even George Lucas, for that matter, it seems like he's the one with the "great ideas" for this show sometimes) and his gang doesn't try to get too ahead of themselves, because there's already so much conflicting material as it is.

Ok, so this episode really pissed me off in a sense - Even Piell doesn't die until after ROTS... he's killed a few months after Order 66 is issued. It's in an EU novel, I can't recall the name, but even the Episode Guide confirms this. The fact that the Guide says that Piell's death in this episode is "the character's true fate" just really upsets me, because this is Filoni and his gang saying, "You know what, we know this happens later on, we know this is canon, but screw it." They've done it with Asajj Ventress's backstory, Eeth Koth's original death, now it's being done again. I've really lost faith in this show because of its nefarious reputation to not care about ANY previously established material whatsoever. Who says that Piell's original death in the EU novel isn't just as valid? Sorry for the rant, but I'm a fan of all the original Clone Wars-related EU that precedes this show, and this show has just demolished it all.

I think it's getting old though that Dooku keeps saying (something like) "turning the tide of the war." He's said the very same thing in a couple of episodes already.

It was an interesting episode, but at this point they're just stretching it out as filler. We already know who lives in the end, so I don't think there's really need to keep this arc going on for so long, unless there's a surprise planned for the final episode of the arc.

I really like the look of the Nikto Jedi, who would have thought that it's the same guy that we got in 2002's Saga in really lame statue form?

I took a look at JTA's pictures of Luke, and wow... his arms really are long! It looks like he has gorilla arms! I thought his outfit is too neon/bright orange, but maybe that's just the color in the film. Of course, if it had been dirtied up a smidgen, it wouldn't stand out so much. It's a nice figure, though.

Those are some pretty spiffy cardbacks, I especially like the look of the ARC Trooper (Fordo) card -although I wish Hasbro would just acknowledge that this was Fordo on the card.

I wonder if Hasbro will continue the CP format at some point after 2012... they're releasing EU figures on Vintage cards, why not just return the CP line?

I would have appreciated Ahsoka somehow dying in this arc, being that this place is freakin' hell to get out of... maybe a dramatic stand-off where the warden captures her as a hostage and holds her at gunpoint in front of Anakin... but, obviously, she's in the Season 3 finale... ::)

I don't like Ahsoka's head sculpt... it's just off. The first figure release had an awesome head sculpt, it looked just like her.

Wolfe's very interesting... I'd say it's the scarred face that makes him more appealing over another regular clone trooper.

Wow, the shoulders look a lot better compared to what we've previously seen.

Someone on the Yakface forums got some loose pictures of the Weequay Sail Barge soldier. Uh, why is his head so long? I mean, if you look at one of the side pictures, you can see that his skull looks stretched out - someone on the forums compared it to the Crystal Skull aliens from Indiana Jones. Is it supposed to be like that?

They didn't specifically say that Ep1 figures coming out in 2012 would be on Vintage cards. They just indicated that the delayed Ep1 wave would be coming out in 2012.

Oh yeah, huh... and on top of that, Hasbro doesn't do the movie-themed waves anymore in TVC. I think you're right that the TPM wave will be released in it's entirety on the new Maul packaging, and then the transition will go back to TVC.

OR, and I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen, the TVC wave released before the delayed TPM wave could be the very last wave of TVC, and we'll start seeing realistic figures on this new packaging, being that TVC is set to end in 2012.

I personally think the look is colorful and fresh, and, come on, really, Maul may have had so little screen time, but it's very clear that he's the face of TPM, and maybe Hasbro will exit out of this artwork phase once the re-release is out of theaters.

I wouldn't mind at all seeing this look transfer over to the realistic figure line after TVC is done. I wonder if they'll use a character from AOTC once AOTC makes it in theaters again.

It's going to be really weird having Maul as the face of TCW toys - he's not even in the show (not yet, at least). I love his character though, and I would love to see this look carried over to realistic figures once TVC is done with.

Would it be possible to, in collaboration with other Star Wars-collector websites (Scum, JTA...etc.), make front page reports asking Hasbro to lower their prices for $1 or 2? If Hasbro takes notice of a bunch of different websites doing this (they've said before they sometimes read forums), they might consider doing so.

I haven't seen the episode, and I haven't seen the note we're referencing that Even Piell is played by a woman. However, I know the original character in Episode I was played by a female actor in make-up as a male character.

Whoops, you're right - here's the Episode Guide with the info from his TPM appearance. I was wondering how the heck the voice actor could be a woman! :o Sorry about that.

There's no episode this Friday? Well, that sucks. It wouldn't be as bad had this been a stand-alone episode, but, as part of an arc, having it two weeks later is crummy timing.
