Other Collectibles / Re: Unleashed Again
« on: June 27, 2004, 03:02 PM »
Most Unleashed cards take a little bit of a beating out on the pegs.  I think the only way you'll get a really good carded sample is to pull it out of the case yourself.

With most figures I would agree with this, but I have opened a lot of cases of Unleashed and 90% of them are less than C-8 fresh out of a case.  A lot of it has to do with the fact that they are so heavy and they are put on the side of their card's in the case.  Very dumb IMO.  However, most of the bubble's are always mint and scratch free out of the case.

Got an email from Founder at Kubrickworld...seems like he got a Berryesque cease and desist from Medicom over the Parco images :o

I can understand Medicom getting upset about the Parco images.  I just hope they don't make Founder take anything else away from kubrickworld.

Just ordered three acrylic cases for my carded Kubs from Oscar's cases.  Anyone else order from them yet?

I better add my name to the list.  Although Simon has already done more than enough good deeds for me already.   ;)

It looks like the Spirit Obi-Wan, Bespin Han, etc. are indeed going to be a box set.  C3PO and the others will be series 3.  I wonder what the price tag will be on the box set?  I would also assume it will be a collector's club only item just like the Early Bird and the Speederbike set.

I got one from Simon for myself and the other to trade for the carded Sandtrooper.  I never got the carded Fett or the Variant Fett's, but other than that I will be complete.  To be honest, even if I had the money I doubt I would get the Fett's.  The regular is enough to keep me happy.  The vinyl Fett and the Droids Fett on the other hand I am definitely keeping an eye out for.

Just got my Droids R2's today from Simon.  They are beautiful.  Thanks Simon.  Now I'm just waiting for Kozik to get back to me on when he wants to ship.   :)

My third transaction with Simon was just completed.  I bought 2 Droids R2-D2 Kubrick's from him through ebay and they arrived today.  Fast shipping, minty mint condition, and as usual a very nice guy to deal with.  Thanks so much Simon.  Looking forward to our next deal.   ;D

From JediMAC: Alright, since Scott always gets nervous whenever our threads get too long, he wants to start all over again with another new one - so here we are again, in Star Wars Kubrick thread #4 - The Power of the Kubricks!   ;)  Good time to start over, with Jon's excellent new pix of waves 3 and 4!   8)  Here's Part 3 of our Kubrick history, along with Part 2, and if you want to read back even further than that, here's our original thread on the Kubrick phenomenon.  Now carry on...
--------------------------------

I don't know if anyone has seen these yet.  Todoroki from kubrickworld.com was able to snap a few pics at Parco.

The Jawa is awesome.

Also, I bought the other one he had for sale and am trading Kozik the spare for a carded Sandtrooper.   ;D

Please tell me you're joking, right Jon...?  You did not just score yourself a Sandie for the price of a Droids R2 did you?!  If so, that'd be pretty mindboggling at this early juncture.

As for Kozik, Scott, just buy all of his Sandies and hook us ALL up here, and tell Kozik we'll give him a buttload of free pub at JD.   8)

Kozik will not sell the Sandtrooper's as far as I know, unless Scott got him to change his mind.  He said he doesn't like to sell promo stuff.  However, he has upped the ante to 3 of them for a carded Fett.  I know, who has an extra carded Fett?  You could always get another one, and I think the price has dropped a decent amount as well.  Trade your Fett, get yourself a Sandtrooper, and sell the other two to get your Fett back.  Obviously this might be taking a chance, but I'm pretty sure you would be safe.

Sorry everyone is having such a mess with Andy.  On a happy note I am finally the proud owner of a Droids R2 courtesy of Simon.  Also, I bought the other one he had for sale and am trading Kozik the spare for a carded Sandtrooper.   ;D

Frank Kozik is a brilliant "Pop" style artist. Actually, before I got back into Star Wars, I was collecting limited edition screen prints and Artist Proofs. I never did get any of Kozik's stuff because it was a bit expensive for me. He did album covers and posters for punk and rock bands like the Offspring, The Melvins, Jesus Lizard, etc. Here's a selection. Here's some of his stuff.

Frank Kozik Posters

His name gives huge credibility to Medicom's artistic style.

Matt. I can't remember about the Jawa, but I think it was the same height as the others. I could be wrong about that though. And the box set was just loose.

Simon I just sent you an email through ebay.   :)

I wish I had Kozik's cash.  Actually half that stuff or more was probably free.   :'(

I'm hoping that there is a sixth in the set.  I also think he means a Jawa.  That is really cool.  The best thing about a Jawa is they are about the size of Yoda, so that would give us an idea what Yoda would look like size-wise.
