I guess that's an interesting point that you make, Darby. These figures are designed for us, the collector, where as the 4" line is being aimed at kids. So, I guess the collector is expected to support a new line with a price point that a majority feel is out of their range. It makes me wonder if Hasbro is really listening to the collector as most have been asking for lower prices and the obscure 15th alien cantina patron.

Like most of you, I would love to take my daughter to the theater and enjoy the movies with her...3-D or not. She just turned 4 and has seen all 6 movies and loves A New Hope. It's the one she always requests (the one where they jump in the garbage) behind Empire (she wants to see the turtles (AT-ATs) and "I'm your father"). After watching these with her after a long time of not seeing them all together, the Prequels have a lot of violence and scary parts than the OT, where the violence is quick or death is essentially a TIE fighter or X/Y-Wing blowing up. And I always feel a sense of adventure in the OT where the heroes don't look for action, it comes to them and they respond to adversity.

So, I guess we can ask DD about his comments about collectors being Dads and the 3.75" line being for kids who don't want another Cantina patron.

Now that I think about the choices, they makes sense.
-X-Wing Luke: reuse the body, resculpt the head and helmet (or add the neck-warmer and new boots for snowspeeder version) and you have Wedge or Biggs (can't see them getting too involved with other pilots right away and Biggs is kind of pushing it, but I'd put him at #3 pilot being released.
-R2: An easy repaint to make most any astromech. A R5-D4 can't be too far behind.
-Sandtrooper: well, clean him up and take away the accessories for the Stormtrooper.
So 3 of the 4 choices already have repaint and some minor changes to make a new figure.

I agree. I wish the price point were a bit lower. We're expected to pay about twice as much for 2" (that's what she said)? Wow!
Also, I like how they say the new line will focus on the Original Trilogy... but then Darth Maul is in the first wave.
R2 could possible have his PT booster rocket glory.

Yeah, I think it's a bizarre 1st wave offering. 3x ANH figures (R2 could be a PT version, I suppose with booster rockets) and 1x Maul. I would have gone with Tatooine Luke before X-Wing Luke and Vader before Maul, Stormtrooper before Sandtrooper... but we'll see. I'm anxious to see how these turn out.

I think I bought him for $4 second-hand market.
As to present day... if it's the same PotJ Ellors Madak repack, then I can see $5-6, but I won't buy it since I already have it. Now, if it's Vintage styled with more PoA (he doesn't need to be SA, but give him some knee articulation) then I'd pay $8-9 for him.
