Other Collectibles / Re: Galactic Heroes Thread

found here in Minnesota as well- Nice set. Frankly I'm surprised TRU isn't charging more for it- $35 doesn't seem too bad for a vehcicle and 3 figures these days.

I think the fall CW line looks absolutely fantastic- I wish I had started the clone wars collection a little sooner, but I'm sure glad I didn't wait any longer

I'd love it if it fit in to the deluxe assortment at $18-20 or so. But if it is $30 something like the dewback, I probably won't get it until clearance/aftermarket.

The Walmart closest to me (St Anthony Minnesota) has the legends at $5, but CW and Vintage are  $8-9. As bad as distribution has been, the stores still seem to have a bunch of Nov-Jan figures. It is going to take at least a 30 day price drop to $6 to unclog the toilet. Stopping at the toy aisle hasn't been this boring for this long in quite a while.

picked up weequay (diplodocus version) and AT-RT. I just liked the AT-RT card too much to pass. This was at Target, and when I got my 65 cents back after handing over a $20, I found myself missing $5-6 figures very much.  :-[

LEGO / Re: LEGO Sale
« on: May 3, 2011, 12:43 PM »
I called customer service, and they confirmed it would not be elligible. However, I called the Lego store at Mall of America, and they have the Tantive in stock, same price, and they have the ARF as well! So, the first order is cancelled, and I am taking a lunch run to buy some bricks!

(Edit- successful run! They had several on the shelves, and with some points left on my VIP card, it was $110 after tax!)

I placed my order this morning, but may be hosed. After placing an order for the Tantive IV, (on sale for $119), I went back and read the fine print on the arf offer because it hadn't shown up in my cart. Turns out the Tantive may be backordered (it doesn't really say, it just says it may be backorderd), and backorders do not qualify for the ARF. So shop carefully-

Ooh look, the price for the AT-ST driver is dropping  ::)  It was at $130 last night.  I knew it wouldn't stay there but foolishly added it to my watch list anyway.  $456.61 end price.

I was watching that one too, hoping it stayed in ballpark of "reasonable" just so I could look for one in the future. No such luck  :(

Found my Jesse Barc at a Target as well-  ;D

When is the new mini-rig line supposed to replace the current deluxe sets?

The Vintage Collection / Re: What Would Be "The End" For You?
« on: March 29, 2011, 07:44 PM »
I've been around it for a few decades myself. While I like some of the vintage, the price stops me from buying more. For the most part, I have everything I need to set up a cantina display, a Jabba's palace display, and a pretty huge hoth display. But there really isn't space, so adding more items to buckets seems a tad crazy.

While I bailed on the carded collection some time ago, I found myself getting back in to it with the Clone Wars series starting at the beginning of 2010. My 10 year old daughter watches the shows on DVD with me, and there is far more new material to mine in CW. The fact that every now and then I could get a bunch on sale for $5-$6 helped. 15 years of movie figures is just about enough for me. Although I wish I had grabbed a couple more of the new gamorrean guards last year  ::).

So random pieces that fit my focused display ideas, or cool sub-lines like the McQuarrie figures, are about all I am looking for these days. And I am someone that would like to see Hasbro try harder at creating environments. Call them playsets, backdrops, whatever, but I like things that make the figures look  better on my shelf.

I'm not sure I'll ever completely stop. Just re-focus, rotate stock, etc.
