Just purchased a couple of weekends ago from my neighbor.  1979 Ford F150.  Perfect Saturday morning mulch/lumber/whatever project truck.  Seen here pulled up to the window where I'm offloading debris from a ceiling demolition in my back room.

$300.  Seriously.  Neighbor just wanted rid of it.

aaaaactually..

see these?

They're 7 inch resin statues of characters from a webcomic I read called Shortpacked....it's about a toystore, and has lots of toy collecting humor...you should check it out....

but aside from that....The author of the comic submited the 2d artwork and Patch Together did the sculpt and final production.  They do it on a small batch....he just set a minimum of orders and votes on the Patch Together site he had to get before pulling the trigger and ordering them.  They were all presold before the work ever began on production, and he offered them for...I think under 40 bucks.

So if you could just get the licensing from Lucasfilm....possibly even for free?, you could possibly have a winner here.

and my personal fave...

The Road Warrior

Jeezus, what a great year to be a geek!

I finally got around to watching the Road Warrior a few weeks ago.  I just plain old didn't get the appeal.  It was ok....but not great.

Link was broken, Bill...and it was a crime against humanity.

I always watch her when she's on, but I don't believe for a minute that she eats all that she cooks.  And I think her boobs have gotten bigger.  Maybe that's where it all goes?  "That alfredo sauce goes straight to my boobs."

Well....that's another thought entirely now...

I had no idea that this was so far along in production.  At most I expected a lame teaser with a hammer and a Thor logo.

it's actually a sunrise....but thanks.

i got up too damned early to let it be mistaken for a sunset.  :)

never mind....they fixed themselves.

....and then they flipped again.  dammit.

Finally found the right deal on the right camera and bought a Nikon D5000 a couple of weeks ago.  Took on the beach vacation to put it through the paces, and I'm pleased.  Here's a few samples from the trip.

In a universe where Reed Richards (a genius scientist with unlimited technology at his disposal) and Tony Stark (a multi-millionaire with unlimited technology at his disposal) can create all sorts of unreal equipment, I think it's entirely plausible that science genius Peter Parker  (a teenager living with his elderly aunt and uncle and scheming for ways to make a few bucks to buy a used car) can create some web spinners.

not saying I didn't accept it....just in the scheme of things, spinners make a little more sense.  Although I used to love it in Web of Spiderman books when Peter would conceal his shooters in his camera gear when traveling.  That was brilliant.

Heck, it's been a while since I saw the first Spider-Man, but even that was pretty close to his origin wasn't it?

Except for the organic web spinners (which sucked, IMO), a life-long crush on Mary Jane, tiny hooks on his fingers... probably some other things, too.

Organic spinners were ok with me.  Accepting a radioactive spider mutation is one thing, but even as a kid i had a hard time accepting that parker could enginer and build highly complex machinery and invent a precise chemical textile process in his bedroom.
