The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

Got a sandtrooper at Wal-Mart for $6. And another Snowtrooper for $6 (less actually, since I returned some cans/bottles).

Got Legends AOTC CLone and ROTS white Clone at K-Mart's buy one get one free sale. $4.25 a figure...nice. I couldn't find much else, clone wars repacks and vintage leftovers, ...wave ones I had or didn't want. Not sure what I'd do with another At-At Commander, but I thought about it.

I think it's funny the difference between the two clones' basic card stats are that the ROTS trooper has one more point of "luck".

Speaking of that I found the Iron Man Air Assualt and Weapon Drones at K-mart buy one get one. $3.50 each.

On a related note, that WIRED article about this topic that RS has linked on their front page is utterly asinine.

The article didn't mention it's not just a costume change, she's aged, her lekku are longer. Maybe she's grown taller (?) too.

In 2 weeks on The Padme Show, her life is in danger and another vote fails. Seriously, this is getting absurd. They aren't gonna make senate Padme, Bail Organa or Lott Dodd (the main villain for this season! HA!) action figures.

I liked the power generator room massacre. What a battle pack that would be. It would never happen.

The Seperatists have a parliment?

I still say he's 4-LOM, he was a like a rap star....Andre 3000.  ;)

I like vintage best of all version still. Yeah, the removable gear. POTF2 is auto fail since he can't sit (unless you find a way to get the coat off.)

And the current version, I think they over corrected and made him a tad short.  Or is that the droid 4-LOM I'm thinking of? Damn Kenner, Dengar was too short, the names were reversed on two, IG-88 was too short, Fett was the wrongs colors....way to screw up characters that appeared for like under 2 minutes and barely moved.

Are you going back to 2002 with that, or no?

Yes and no. No they wouldn't have been super articulated in 2002 of course. But back then they made some figures like the previously unnamed Nikto Jedi, that were little more than statues, even compared to Episode 1 releases. That stuff turned me off Star Wars for a while.

In terms of ROTS, they could've gone further and we wouldn't have needed Agen Kolar and Plo Koon again. And IIRC, we don't have a fully SA Ki-Adi Mundi, just a SA concept one (and maybe that comic pack one, I'm not sure).

I admit, I'd probably get Aayla again if she had better arms. Mine has a loose knee anyway. And I missed the Clone Wars version (saw it once with bad paint ops and then never again).

Complaining about character repetition in Star Wars toys is pointless. I admit that.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Target Clone Wars Geonosis 2-Packs

The cannon was used by Battle Droids and geonosians in various episodes of the show. Still though, I think it's generic enough that it can be used by clones as well.

That's cool. More Seperatist gear is welcome. I guess I never noticed it per se.

So they are reissuing Attack on Rishi Moon Outpost in new boxes with a battle mat. Also, Holocron Heist and Clones vs. Droids will come with battle mats.

Upcoming Clone Wars Battle Packs

Variation completists are gonna hate Hasbro.

Non-zombie Geonosian! They seem shorter than the movie-based versions.

Which side does the cannon go to?

So will the Clone Troopers have pre-yellowed helmets like the current plain white one?

Ask that in the Q&A.

Skiff Master Weequay, Kithaba and Bom Vimdin are the highlight of all those. I have a feeling they'll screw up Rebel Fleet Trooper. 3rd Strike is a charm. Watch him be an inch taller than the tallest stormtrooper.

I find some Jedi redos irritating, since some they could've gotten right the first or second time (Aayla). Triple dipping...

Others noticed, as I did, the musical number was an homage to "Anything Goes" from Temple of Doom.

I noticed from that yahoo clip Obi-Wan will sport his less armored look in the Oppress episode (or sooner). Meaning his new action figure will hit about the right time.

I got mine a week ago. Then wondered why I even sent for it. I like Mon Calamari. But I dislike opening figures who have a high aftermarket value. All this carded stuff with the fold out diorama...is like Hasbro laughing at us "You gotta send off for two now!"

That's why I prefer my mail-ins in a small box their package being a clear baggie.

I'll enjoy it more when it snows.  :)

I can send you some. Unless you want to come to the Twin Cities yourself.

Z'all right. Michigan gets plenty of snow in due time.

Well, now Hasbro has a reason not to make Ziro.

Weird thing happened, too...there was a clone in the episode...only briefly. Maybe as the season progresses we'll learn more about the clones and how they tie into the war named after them.  ;)

I know, I was mocking Hasbro's absurdity.  ;) They always mention tooling costs. But then for an exclusive, they sculpt an all new figure when they could've reused parts, then make an entire  repaint wave of $8 to $10 carded releases.

Back on subject. I got the Defense set since it was $5 off. It's okay. But really for die-hards. The turret seems so hollow and static, because it is. It makes me realize why Hasbro doesn't do playsets.  I can see why the AT-ST (attack set) is harder to locate; it just seems more fun.  Also, K-3PO figure can't sit, not that he ever did, but I'd like the option to.

Piece of a greater picture (diorama), the battle of Hoth, the set is good. Just not sure that's a road I'll pursue (money and space)...I'll enjoy it more when it snows.  :)

The thing is though, the AT-AT driver's suit is unique, but not really a snow suit...  It's just a jumpsuit with a helmet and chest box like a pilot has.  So is it "cold weather", or is it specific to the vehicle they drive since it's perhaps complex?  The AT-ST driver's uniform is a lot more simplistic, possibly because the AT-ST doesn't require anything more than a standard army uniform to hop in and go.

My only gripe on the AT-ST driver is his height.  He's pretty tall.  I'm still perplexed why they'd sculpt a figure from the ground-up when the Scanner Tech gave them 80% of the parts they'd need.

1. Because tooling costs so much money, which is why the first vintage wave of 2011 is mostly repaint/rereleases.  :P

2. Because they really wanted another imperial to be in scale with the 30th Anniversary Collection Death Star Trooper.

Ah, I miss KENNER's "WE REALLY DO CARE!"

My bro broke the vintage Millenium Falcon's guns and they sent him a new one.

Of course, greedy scum would exploit that for all it was worth nowdays so they could resale parts on ebay.
