Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Tattoos -- Love 'Em or Hate 'Em?
« on: August 31, 2009, 06:21 PM »
Damn cool story Chris.  To me, tats are supposed to have that sort of meaning behind them, not just some random pic from a display in a shop.  I guess that's why I still don't have one, I just haven't figured out what I want yet that would have the kind of "value" to me.

That's how I feel too Jesse - and why I still haven't settled on one yet.  I want one that is personal and includes my family.  I also want one that incorporates the design of the emblem from the necklace that Shannon gave me just before she died.  Both of those will be just for me.

My husband is considering getting tats on his upper back/shoulder blade of the children's footprint impressions that were taken in the hospital just after they were born.

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince - in IMAX/3-D.  The IMAX/3-D experience was too loud and overwhelming for my son - we barely made it through the opening credits before we had to leave.  Saw some great previews in 3-D though.........

They are adorable!  I love boxers - have always heard great things about them - namely that they are nothing but big babies.  What are their names?

Rob - glad to hear that the pups are okay - those little rascals can get into a lot of trouble and cause a world of worry.

Jesse - sorry to hear about Tarkin.  I remember how hard it was when Hannah, my pug started getting older and things started going wrong with her little by little.  You worry over them and feel so bad for them.

When Hannah and her litter-mate Dudley were still quite small, my mom came to visit with Dudley.  I also had a black lab at the time who are gravy train.  We go to missing Dudley and found him buried deep inside the bag of Brownie's food.  We laughed and thought nothing of it and took the pups to a pet supply store.  My mom held the puppies in her lap on the short ride there.  Needless to say, Dudley started getting sick all over my mom and Hannah.  The thing is, when a dog eats Gravy Train dry, and then throws it back up, it makes gravy. :o

Thanks for the link Nathan!  Since my hubby is working all night, I put the kids to bed early and have been watching for the last 4 hours.  It's addictive.

Sorry for the old bump - but I finally got around to watching this.  All I can say is -- Wow! - I see what everyone was talking about.  I loved it.  I can't wait to rent the Firefly series (though I don't know when I'll get to watch it) and buy the DVD of Serenity.  I also have a renewed crush on Nathan Fillion.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Is Yoda a coward?

Me too.  I would much rather think that Yoda had faith in the force.  I always though of him as a wise old sage who was content to let the force lead him to whatever it held for him.  Or led Luke to him as the case may be.  I never thought of him as a failure or cowering in fear or self-pity.

On top of adding variables to the racing, driving at the scheduled time would have a positive impact on NASCAR's licensing agreements, as they would be able to guarrantee a TV audience for their race.  If you

Plus it would help to guarantee that my husband would get home from the track late Sunday eve., as opposed to late Monday. ;)

Tracy, wow...haven't seen you around lately. Everything good?
Yeah - just busy - my dad has had multiple operations and we've been on vacation and busy with the kids - life, basically  :).

Han probably didn't have a change in the Falcon either as they had to evacuate the base as soon as they could. Maybe he didn't like leaving clothes in there for that funky Falcon smell.  ;)

Well........Han was planning on leaving........so maybe he was already loaded up.......

I don't think Leia kept alot of different outfits on the Falcon. Chewie doesn't wear clothes. As for Han, I think alot of us look pretty much the same from day to day as far as what we wear.

Not sure about you, but I have more than one shirt and pair of pants, so I will likely look a little different from day to day.  I can guarantee that if I was trapped on a ship for a month - a ship I used as my home, I would have a change of outfit and look different than I had a month prior.  The fact that the characters all look pretty identical to when they were in the asteroid suggests that they weren't habbling along in space for quite that long.

I would assume that Leia didn't have a change of clothes at all - she wasn't planning on leaving Hoth on the Falcon.  That was a last-minute change when she was unable to get to her transport.

That sucks. :'(  His films were a huge part of my post-adolesence.  One of my faves was "She's Having A Baby".  Great sound track too.........

We're heading for a vacation on one of NC's barrier islands next week.  We almost always have a siting of one while we're there -- but they are always the kind with big white teeth.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Anyone ever contacted an old classmate?
« on: July 15, 2009, 10:29 PM »
I'm going to have to agree with efranks.  I can't remember the names of anybody I was in 6th grade with, let alone 3rd grade - unless they went to high school with me.  For that matter, I don't remember most of the people I went to high school with either.  I don't recognize half of the classmates that send me friend requests on facebook - so I simply ignore them -- especially the guys.  Considering the fact that you were friends for such a short amount of time when you were quite young, a friend request on Facebook or other social networking site would seem appropriate.  Anything more could skeeve her out.
