I believe the Blackhawks can win, they just need to get some scoring from all their lines like they did during the regular season.  Hoping this one doesn't end in a sweep of the Blackhawks like the Bruins did to the Pens.

Scoring from Shaw, Bolland, Saad, Oduya.  Other lines contributing - check
Hawks up 1-0.  No sweep - check

Holy crap that was exciting to watch!  It's hard not to be biased in the review, but I thought the Hawks did a better job in regulation (almost 2-1 SOG) and the Bruins dominated the OT's.  That was definitely one that could have gone either way, and appeared as though it was going to go Boston's way twice on those two post shots in OT.  I was surprised that the Hawks came out hitting; that is definitely not their game. I think it showed too as they went down early and had to fight back just to tie it up.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series (although I'm still nervous about the Hawks chances).  I think that the teams were evenly matched in most of the stats yesterday, so this series is probably going to come down to the lucky deflections off posts, skates and legs...

Any of you Boston fans know what happened to Horton?  From the replays it looked like he hurt himself pushing one of the Hawks and not due to a hit.  Pierre was also speculating that he was playing with an upper body injury.

The Sequel Trilogy / Re: Star Wars Episode VII

UGH.  So let me get this straight, he has enough money to ride around in a 'luxury BMW' and live in a gated community, but he has to go picking through public ashtrays...

Why do I have a bad feeling that he's going to get cast in the movie and then half way through production, Disney is going to catch wind of some of these sorts of things and pull the plug on him.  Then the story will get rewritten for the n-th time, they'll have to reshoot the scenes he was in, and EP VII won't see the light of day for a year after they were planning on it...

That swagger is what has me worried.  The Wild seemed to have their way with the Blackhawks as far as hits were concerned, and Detroit is only going to be hitting harder.  Although Chicago swept them during the regular series, I could easily see this one going 6 or 7.

At this point in time, I'd be elated for the series to make it to a Game 6.  The Hawks top line needs to step it up if they are going to end up winning the series.  They got away with mediocre performance during the Wild series, but it is costing them right now.  Oh, and Howard has had two great back-to-back performances in net for the Wings.  You don't know how hard it is for me to type that compliment...

Well, not at all what I thought the series was going to look like but I'll definitely take it.  Coming back from 3-1 to win the series was huge.  The way Detroit came out in the 3rd tonight had me really nervous that they were goign to take it in regulation.  Can't believe the call near the end of the game against Saad though.  He got tossed into the Detroit bench, body slammed to the ice and because he puts a glove in the guy's face, HE gets a co-incidental roughing penalty that negates a goal?!  Thankfully they were able to come out and get it done in OT, even after Detroit put up some pretty good chances in the first few minutes.

Bring on the Kings!  Going to be a great goalie match-up with the #1 and #2 GAA leaders facing off.  Not happy that they play back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday to start things off though...

Hey Jim, from what I can remember when I was trying to build my collection, some of the NJO books that were only released in HC through the SFBC were pulling in some good money (Traitor was typically selling for around $100).  Also, anything that was a 3-in-1 like the Bounty Hunter Chronicles, etc.  Other than that, unless it was a first edition or rare HC (only through SFBC), I remember them being pretty average.  Good luck!

It's kind of funny that you started this thread because my wife has been getting on me to get rid of my HC and TPB collections.  I keep holding on, but eventually I think it's a losing battle.

Yeah, that Detroit swagger is in full effect.  I don't think Harding/Kuemper get that "Goalie Interference" call last night.  That no goal call was pretty bogus, seemed like a make-up for the boarding in the other end.  That no goal call was killer to you guys last night as it gave the Red Wings a total momentum swing.

Totally agree.  That was a crap call, especially since Shaw was knocked down prior to the shot and had two guys on top of him when the puck went into the net.

They really need to get their heads out of their pads if they are going to win another game.  If it's not the underperformance of their top line, then it's the turnovers that are leading to additional chances for Detroit.  I know that Crawford is taking some heat for his GAA going up in the last two games, but what I think gets lost is how many times he's been put into bad positions and ends up pulling saves out of nowhere.  They can't keep asking him to stand on his head game after game...

And to the Red Wings for taking care of business.  They may not be as powerful as past Wing teams, but they've still got a bit of that swagger, as well as the new Captain and Datsyuk after all.  Really looking forward to seeing the DET/CHI series.

No, she actually was let go for the things she did before she got to Chicago.  There was an article in the Tribune talking about her previous 'woman on the street' type broadcasts that are on YouTube.  It's pretty silly considering these were things that NBC Sportsnet should have investigated prior to hiring her...

Damn.  Really thought we'd steal that one...  :'(

You and me both!  All I can say is thank god the crossbar is as wide as it is, otherwise the Hawks would be looking at 2012 all over again, where Crawford can't get them out of overtime games...  I thought the Hawks came out pretty flat at the begining of the game and picked it up in the second and beyond.  Great job by Harding taking goal after several months of back-up duty.  Thought he had an impressive game considering he was pressed into duty at the last minute.

BTW, thought this was pretty funny too last night.  Not sure that any of you non-Chicagoans caught this in real time, but thankfully Yahoo! picked it up:

All aboard the North Stars Wild bandwagon.

Hopefully they'll bounce back from tonight's thrashing and still hold on the 8th slot, giving you something to cheer for.
