I kind of like the new IDW comics. I just do the TPB route and have volumes 1 and 2, but it's pretty cool and updated. It tries a little too hard to be gritty for the sake of grittiness sometimes, but overall, I really enjoy them. The old ones are corny as hell and nostalgic, but all in all, the new Gi Joe comics aren't bad at all (not worth $4 each, but like I said, TPBs make it a lot more economical if you have the patience).

They're out there. I just picked up a couple Stingers and an Arctic Hiss for $9 each. That's all they had, and all I wanted, but I'll check another Ross on my way home and pick up any Stingers or Hisses that I see and post here if I have any luck for those that are interested.

Wow, I had no idea Volume 7 was such a commodity. Is this because the first printing was notoriously filled with re-lettering typos? I wonder if IDW has quit printing Vol. 7 but will re-release it with corrections. Because I'm sure not dropping fifty bucks for it.

I guess this is old news, but I just heard about it. SK Omega is a 3 3/4 military line created in part by some of the original GI Joe designers. Anybody know if/when this stuff is going to be released. Some of it looks really cool.

« on: August 30, 2010, 09:30 PM »Those damn Secret Wars two packs are really tempting. Secret Wars was about the time of my second entry into the comic world. I'd started reading comics really young at the Lake in the summer at my aunt and uncle's cabin, then sort of stopped, then got back in again. Almost bought the Thor/Enchantress two pack but thankfully Canadian retail pricing snapped me back to reality.
You can have my Enchantress, if you want. Just let me know.

I saw Dusty, Zartan, and Destro from Wave 2 and passed on all of them. The figure designs are really cool, but they just don't "feel" G.I. Joe to me.
I guess I'm more of a purist than I thought.
