Hey, I just got an idea here.  If I had that basement of yours I would do the following things to it.

1) Paint the floor and ceiling a very dark gray color (flat paint)... yes, I even said the floor because it's just tile.

2) Paint the walls a lighter shad of gray (flat paint).

3) Then possibly paint some accents on the wall to make it more Imperial looking (like on the death star).

You've done a great job with your setup, and you've definitely given me some ideas for when it comes time to moving into a new home next year.

Episode 1 / Re: R2-B1 & TC-14
« on: March 23, 2003, 10:52 AM »
Found these two at a toy show in Winnipeg, cost me $40 each.  Very expensive but completed my Episode 1 collection

Wow, pretty pricey there but I think R2-B1 is worth every penny I paid for him.

Nice-looking auctions there... I too wish I could win the lottery.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Ephant Mon..Reshipping?!
« on: March 23, 2003, 12:41 AM »
I haven't seen any Ephant Mon figures since Thanksgiving time.  I picked up 5 Ephant Mon figures at TRU the day after Thanksgiving last year, and have traded 3 of them away.  I was only going to keep one for myself, but I have two that are just 100% MOMC and am going to keep both for myself.  I bought acrylic cases (from Oscar) for both of these, and perhaps one of these days I will trade one away.

LEGO / What would you like to see made?
« on: March 23, 2003, 12:35 AM »
If you could have LEGO offer any type of Star Wars kit that hasn't been made yet, what would it be?  I mean it could be anything out there from the Star Wars universe (vehicle, character, etc.).

Well, I would love to see them do a whole bunch of environments like...

-- Mos Eisley Cantina
-- Death Star
-- Endor Moon
-- Hoth Base
-- Dagobah
-- Cloud City

LEGO has done a great job with the vehicles and characters, but they haven't done much as far as environments go.  Yes, they've recently done Jabba's Palace which I think is great and all, but they need to expand into more areas.

That's an awesome deal!  Too bad I already have both of them though.  Still, a great find Zam!

Vintage Kenner / Re: Beware Fake Auctions!
« on: March 23, 2003, 12:21 AM »
People who place auctions like those are the people who give eBay a bad name.  Thankfully I've only dealt with one crappy seller.  It took me almost 5 weeks to get my stuff from the guy.  I posted him negative feedback and he wrote me an email cussing me out and threatening me (not with death but just smart-aleky remarks).  I was going to report him to eBay, but I've tried that once before for something else and that didn't get me anywhere.

You just have to be very careful about eBay, and try not to bid on things when there's less than 10 minutes (which I've done before).  You need to really do your homework first about the seller and what they're selling.

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Jango Fett: Open Seasons
« on: March 22, 2003, 04:23 PM »
One of my friends just got this about a week ago and I read it in about a half hour.  What an awesome comic book!  The pictures were well illustrated, and it had a great story line.  I'm going to be ordering one from Dark Horse Comics sometime next month I think.

I've never been into comics all that much, but after reading that I'm definitely hooked!

...and I have to comment on how lovely the wallpaper is in your room there.   ;D      ::)
But I'm like you Chris, I'm in a holding pattern to unload the collection 'til we get our new house in the next couple of months!  Argh!  Growing impatient...

I'm growing impatient too, but I have about a year before we decide to move out of our townhouse.  We live in a very nice 3 bedrom townhouse, but I only have a very small office where my Star Wars items are out on display.  When we buy a house my wife has already given me the green light to have the entire basement (of the new house).  :)

Episode 1 / Re: How many episode 1 figs do you have?
« on: March 22, 2003, 02:24 PM »
I had them all MOMC, then slimmed down to about 10 over the past few weeks.

I just got this "I am sure someone else would appretiate these more than me" mentality, and I wanted to kind of streamline my collection down to what I really wanted. Of course, I kept TC-14, Sio Bibble, Swimming Jar Jar and the like.

Of course you decide to keep the ones we're all TRULY in need of.   :P

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Distribution
« on: March 22, 2003, 01:47 PM »
I agree with the two previous posts.  I live in the Chicagoland area, and there's nothing available out here.  There might be one or two stores that have stuff, but I'm not driving an hour to get something.  It's ridiculous!

These are so cool!  I have never heard of these items before, but I think I might have to get one of them.  That Boba Fett and Luke X-Wing Pilot are great-looking figures!

« on: March 22, 2003, 01:02 PM »
Well I just added my first ever Prototype First Shot Stormtrooper from the Playskool Millenium Falcon set.

I always wanted a Prototype figure & this was the cheapest I could find.  :)

That's a very cool figure indeed, and I love how it's all black in color.
