30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Coin Pack-Ins
« on: June 25, 2006, 10:12 PM »
I'd rather my figures move beyond 1983 and have knee, elbow, and wrist joints become a standard in the line...  Pack-ins like the mini holos cost more than people realize I think, and coins I can't imagine will be much better...  I have no interest in pack-in garbage anymore, I would prefer the quality of the toys themselves reach a higher standard considering the retail price they now cost...  Static legs and arms just ain't cuttin' the mustard anymore.

What scares me is the cost of zinc has gone up considerably. (Zinc is the main ingredient fo die cast) So with that said will the cost go up again for this crap.
As Jesse pointed out I think the vast majority of us want more acessories or articulation. At this point i would rather them stay with the holo figures to create a chess set. I cant beleive I said that...............
Its like freeze frames all over again, give up the gimmicks and give us content!

Holy cow! We're actually getting a brand new pilot sculpt!

Sir Steve's Guide Snowpeeder pictures

He looks to be partially kitbashed. The arms, skirt and ring around the color are new. I main body appears to be Dutch. Much better than the old Target rebel pilots with the Biggs or Luke bodies.
The snowspeeder is kinda unimpressive, it looks too close to the POTF2 version. The WalMart snowspeeder's paint job was much better. I am still buying it, count me in for one!

What I'd like to see for the 30th Anniversary collection...

Nice list!
With that Rebelscum list that surfaced it appears you may have got what you wished for in several areas.
The Bespin fatigue boys are what I have been waiting for, I am so happy its the VOTC treatment, worth the wait.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TSC White TIE Fighter

White? It really does not look white, its more of a greyish blue............

Would be very cool if they released that concept Luke vs. Vader as a set.

Hells yeah! ;D

I find I always tend to lean to the OT just because I grew up and started collecting with that. That 80's space feel seems other worldy at times and far far away like when it was made. It adds to the child hood fantasy of adventure.
I  now apppreciate the PT more and have really embraced army building because of it. Since ROTS the PT got the pick up in respect in desperatly needed, the CW connection is what really put it over the top and brought it back to the OT connection for fans.

I would have to pass. I rather expand my 3.75 that I have so much invested in. I started to pick up the 2in unleashed then came to my senses. Why start another scale? Space does become an issue at some point with most collectors.
I am uber focused in my collection 3.75 and 7in unleashed - thats it!

Having a 6inch line is redundant, they would be $10 plus to boot. I hope for more 7in unleahesed that almost in line with the 6 inch scale, thats appeases my appitite for larger scale Star wars.

Jesse
Right on the 12' Hasbro really sucked (except the R2 units and Yoda), they were so bad I am surprised they even bothered.
Remember the Chewbaccas - never forget! I also do not see why everyones is so excited about Sideshow's line. I think their stuff kinda sucks. The outfits and weapons look good but the bodies they use are so out of proportion and really "limp" they cannot stand on there own. The faces are mediocre at best the Obi and Anakin are ok. The 1/4 scale stuff looks nice.
Mediacom has the best stuff high end is the way to go.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 'Scum's 2007 report... Oh my!
« on: June 25, 2006, 11:40 AM »
The good, the bad and the UGH.

The good.
I am really excited about the list overall, looks much more exciting than this year. I am most looking forward to:

Han Bespin
Luke Bespin
HS Boba Fett & Johnsan Boba Fett, even if you are not crazy about them they make good Mandalores.
McQuarrie Chewie he is way ugly but really cool!

For me the Bad of the list:

Quote: " Arguably, the small-scale Unleashed figures are one of Hasbro's most popular new lines of 2006, and since it's foolish to fix what's not broken, we can expect the following new sets:"

1. Ahh...these little turds are clogging shelves at every store I go to. How can they waste more tooling on this?
2. EU Yuuzhan Vong - Cheese. C'mon they are immune to the force, that alone ruins the SW mythos and what Yoda taught us. plus they destroyed the ilithorian homeworld by Vogging. Lame.
3. Luke Skywalker another Tatooine version - wonderful
4. Darth Vader - Nuff said

The UGH:

With 2 Mace Windus will we at least get 1 new sculpt?
Coins will these be rereleases of the POTF? Better than Holos but the cost of dies cast has increased due to zinc prices. Will they raise the price again?
Will the Marvels be movie accurate? I bet they will be, could be really awesome!

With all this EU going on here are my picks for the next wave:

Wave 5: SWHE (Holiday edition wave)
1. Bea Arthur as Ackmena
2. Lumpy
3. Malla
4. Gormaanda
5. Art Carney as Saun Dann
6. Itchy
7. Coked-out Leai with sound
8. Chewie in red life day robe
8. Luke x wing with eye liner

C'mon admit it you want them too..........I will take Bea Aurther over a EU Yoovin DingDong anyday. (Whatever they are called)

The Vintage Collection / Re: Tonnika Sisters coming?
« on: June 25, 2006, 11:13 AM »
Is it me or what? How can those 2 minor characters who the regular Joe cannot see anyway, have there own carved out rights to hold out on action fgures of themselves?
Why would the almighty bearded flanneled grandmaster himself grant these broads exclusive passes? They can make whoever they want. I think it was a matter of how exciting are they or not. I think they are cool and would love to add them to my collection. They are better than many of the terds who graced past blister cards.

2835
Good idea, personally if I am going to add another Yoda a hooded one would be welcome!
If not I will chop him up and make another Plo Koon mutant out of him (See my customs link)
