The Vintage Collection / Re: 2010 "Vintage" Collection Wave 3 - ROTJ
« on: November 24, 2010, 03:46 PM »
I think a new tvc Yoda (from esb or rotj) must depict an utility belt over his cloak.
Other requirement would be a neutral facial expression (aotc Yoda figure shows a fighting expression), plus a better paintjob to match his skin tone.

His head in modern line is medium size, perhaps the most accurate.

Head dimension improved in tvc gamorrean version, cause potf2 figure was kinda "papaya head"; then it diminished and sculptors sharpened his profile.

Collect All 92! / Re: Cloud Car Pilot

I agree the interest in this figure is army building. Nevertheless tvc version has nice updates like the microphone attached to helmet, the different utility belt and pants with yellow applications. The lack of the walkie talkie should be solved in a future repack.

At first glance, the figure shows a predominant white on it. Remember that otc red applications on Cloud car pilot dressed more the jacket and seemed more movie accurate. (The photo of the source shows actors whose jackets are apparently red on their shoulders.)

Collect All 92! / Re: Zuckuss
« on: November 18, 2010, 11:33 PM »
When I was a kid and opened my vintage 4-Lom (Zuckuss) I remembered after putting off his coat and backpack, that his clothes looked someway Tusken for me. Even very similar color to the beige / creme of sand people outfit.
His shirt and pants resembled beduin style, kinda for the desert. Now the tlc version shows a complex armor over his pants, like the shinguards.

As the figure was naive, the paintjob added detail with the nose / mouth piece of the mask in brown, then tlc matched it silver for movie accuracy.

I took a  peek at my vintage ESB novelization, by Donald F. Glut. He narrates in the scene of the bounty hunters before Vader at the Avengerīs bridge that beside Bossk, there were two humans covered by scars, Dengar and Zuckuss.

This is the first evidence we had about the nature of Zuckuss; that he wasnīt  4-Lom droid

I donīt follow this extract as canon, neither early draft, perhaps was part of the freedom of the writer to depict the scene.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Questions for Hasbro?
« on: November 14, 2010, 03:20 PM »
This year we have seen 45 released / scheduled action figures; Will Hasbro release less than 60 action figures for 2011?

How much OT figures will we get for 2011?

Hunt for Ziro: This chapter presented the most variations of hutt heads we can see. There was a Hutt gangster whose head resembled Wat Tamborsī; he spotted more profile, a nose and a head, Rapa Nui style.

The mother of Ziro was monstrous, an anti female character due to her voice and likeness.

Ziro was depicted kinda hermaphrodite, and his voice sounded between female and male, ambiguous.
About his head, it always was a Truman Capote derivation

Perhaps Ziro has represented the most update job on tattoos for a Hutt. If Lucasfilm wants to customize these aliens, it would be convinient to depict them with curious robes, like vests, hats.

Hi guys, just to look at the evolution of this wave! Great job Hasbro
Jedi Luke has got slim and taller than tlc version, he looks elegant.

This is teh way we want Hasbro to evolve Hoth Luke, Dagobah training Luke and Dagobah Landing Luke.

Ackbar is the guy we want to see seat with his console, near his Mon Calamari officers. Good caught from rotj scenes.

the Gamorrean guy would be an expert in kung fu, cause this buddy comes with three weapons ( 2 axes and the staff)
 Superb!!
I have been looking the reviews on galactic hunter and jedi-business, and expect to buy these figures.

TV-9D9 / Re: The death or disappearance of Ahsoka?
« on: November 12, 2010, 05:06 PM »
In narrative there is  away to simplify the story, when it reaches the end, by eliminating secondary characters.
This is useful for detective tales, mistery, horror.

But we can hardly consider Ahsoka a secondary character. Her death wouldnīt disturb kids as the death of the toyadrian king (sorry, I donīt remember the name of this guy from the race of Watto)

Moreover, Ahsoka timeline hasnīt reached its top. She colud survive and perhaps encounter Shaak Ti on Felucia OF TFU, maybe know about Kota, or be trained by her.

If Lucasfilm killed this lady inside the animated style; they will miss the chance to expand her adventures in a realistic style (like video games as TFU2)

Savage Opress as Dookuīs apprentice should show an agressive fencing style, and as a refresh of Maul, skills in martial arts. He could be highly potentiated if in some scenes appears to be trained by Darth Sidious.

He looks like Darth Maul in armor, perhaps with sith devices to confront the Jedi (gas bombs, darts, knives, etc)

Something in the spot, made me think he will not reach the full potential of a sith (not over the top as Starkiller from TFU)
due to the tension between him and his mentor. Dooku shows disgust with his training and punishes him with force lighting ( a power Opress like Maul coudnīt have mastered).

Collect All 92! / Re: 4-LOM
« on: November 5, 2010, 01:26 AM »
Vintage 4-lom, carded as Zuckuss shows nice detail for a variation of C3poīs body. Also his head was the most accurate for the period, his grey eyes were an effort of applying different tones of one colour.

another unusual feature was his red nose, wich made vivid the character.

When I was a kid, as I didnīt get any Bantha tracks or similar magazine, I ignored that 4lom was a droid, I thought he  was an insectoid, cause the depiction of his head looked a bit kinda organic. (I thought he was an insectoid alien in a C3po armor)

The tlc version, depicted his eyes more metallic like, more droid, in the modern versions we got the rust paintjob, kept also for the tvc release.

The Wookiee Arcade / Re: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II !
« on: October 31, 2010, 12:28 PM »
Here is a question:

Does anybody know if there is a downloadable demo for pc? Whatīs the link?

Well, as there is not a thread about the story (photo novel, comic version, etc)
The game posts an interrogant
-Maybe Starkiller from tfu2, is Galen Malek himself resurrected; like Palpatine in Dark Empire (as the clone Emperor)
-If Starkiller from tfu2, is not the resurrected Galen, Darth Vader keeps the former Starkiller alive or sleep with cryogenetics, and heīs preparing a clash between this former Galen and tfu2 Starkiller.

For these hypothesis, we should assume that Starkiller from tfu2 is the perfect clone from the character, as Boba is respect Jango, while Vader got lots of substandard Galens (force sensitives), which Starkiller from tfu2 killed in the final levels of the game.

With all respect to Hasbro performance during the last years, collectors could regret the lack of completely new molds and sculpts. >:(
In some cases they must sacrifice articulation for a better / more realistic sculpt

"Itīs a trap! or itīs a repack?"

Other errors on Han depėction are the narrow shoulders, and very thin arms. People are wondering if these figures are kitbashes or repacks.

A humble opinion: instead of kitbashes or repacks, Hasbro must correct sculpts and molds, like they did with the vtsc Bespin Luke, which evolved into the tvc Bespin Luke we have already bought.

As a Ot collector I would like to get Luke and Han from this wave
minor tweaks on Han: his shirt is not closed (as needed for the Yavin Ceremony), however his legs have improved, cause they are not merely tubular and thin, now the thighs have better shape.

Luke: I find his head enough decent, with a young looking, but I would have prefer his legs were a bit longer and as see from this prototype, not so tubular.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: New Darth Vader and Snowtrooper!
« on: October 27, 2010, 12:35 PM »
These 2 figures improved the line enough
cool for their time
Vader head got updated on the evolution way, but still needs to be regularised in the flat rear side at the tvc line.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: ESB 25th Anniversary Sets?
« on: October 27, 2010, 12:32 PM »
As the collection expands, Hasbro seems less interested in bringing conmemorative sets
For the 30th anniversary of esb, we only saw the 3 packs that perform same vintage combos in the tvc line.
