30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2008 Wave 1 - Revenge of the Sith
« on: January 31, 2008, 10:51 PM »
The 2-1B model in ESB is, to me, a different model altogether: Different color, Different height, Different chest. Different arm. Different figure.

Different height?  Hmm...if you really want to get technical, sure, there's a timeframe difference between a ROTS-era 2-1B and an ESB 2-1B, and as you mentioned, the coloring, chest and arm are different.  But the height?  The droid model is still the same.  Using a different example, you could argue that R2-B1 isn't R2-D2, but it is still the same droid model, regardless of the timeframe difference.  Should R2-D2 be any shorter than R2-B1?  Hasbro scaled this newest version of 2-1B off.  Way off.  2-1B wasn't a munchkin of a droid.  And this newest version of 2-1B is small.

Man oh man, 2-1B is short.  Just opened all my wave 1 loot up and 2-1B just doesn't look right next to Bacta Luke.  I don't really have a problem with the Kasyykk Trooper, but 2-1B...

Lucked out and found wave 1 this morning at the Wal-Mart in Las Cruces, NM.  Picked up a Kashyyk Trooper, Commander Gree, 2-1B, & a Tri-Droid.  Also picked up a Hawkbat Clone.  Kinda disappointed with him, though.

Any way wave one does not scan in wally's computers yet with the exception of the Kashyyyk Troopers, which scan at 5.88.  all the other figures do not.  7.5 and the mctoopers ring up at 6.63

Same thing happened to me.  It took nearly fifteen minutes to check out since the cashier couldn't figure out what to do.

# Wolf Sazen & Darth Nihl - from Star Wars: Legacy

I much rather would have prefered a Wolf Blitzer & Darth Nihl set instead.

Still searching for a manly man purse.

Any suggestions*?

Dunno, but when you finally find the right man purse, make sure it has the Patriots logo/emblem embroidered on there somewhere.

It looks kinda like that old Patterson Bigfoot video!

Yep, it looks like Sasquatch with a limp wrist.  Uh oh...

The Wal-Marts around here are stuffed to the gills with Stormtroopers, SBD's, 3PO's & DST's.  But the figure I spot the MOST at stores (Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) is Jedi Luke (hands down).

Great...more "shadow" troopers...

You know, Hasbro should apply the "shadow" concept with other types of troopers, only in reverse.  For instance, instead of "shadow" Death Star Troopers (which wouldn't work 'cuz they're already black), Hasbro should make "sunshine" Death Star Troopers: DST's painted white.  This idea would work with Death Star Gunners, TIE-Pilots, etc.  And believe me, they would sell.....

unfortunately, it's about time to retire the poor thing before it melts away.

When you do, give it to me.  I'll give you a dollar.  Deal?

Amazing take on Anakin.

Agreed.  Looks great.

Even at that amount it is pretty damn thick

Yeah, but, what if I sent you a wallet sized pic of yours truly?  Would you have room to fit that in there too?   ???

Speaking of wallets, I would like to find a trendy 'man bag' to carry mine and everything else:

*Wallet
*Phone
*ipod
*Smokes
*Lighter
*Gloves
*Gum
*Keys

That's a lot of crap there, buddy.  But smokes?  Smoking is bad!  Just looking out for your health, that's all.  Plus, it would be two less things for you to carry (smokes + lighter).

I use one of these

It fits the bill nicely (no pun intended).

I'm still very fond of the OTC packaging.  I love how each figure had a movie scene backdrop on the card.  I know TSC figs featured the same thing, but I prefer the shape of the bubble with OTC over TSC.
