And now I have new wheels and better quality tires.  I'd love to build it into a rock climber, but the cost is a bit prohibitive.  Instead I'll stick with my hunting trips and light mud duty.  I'm probably going to put some spacers up front to level it out and possibly take off the step up bars.

Down the road I'm looking at a new bumper and fender flares.

I know some of you aren't religious and some of you are, but just take it for what it's worth, there are those of us who are here in the south that are untouched by this particular storm praying for you and your situation.  If you don't believe in prayer, then know that our thoughts are with you.

I've never done floods or hurricanes (other than relief work after Katrina), but tornadoes are a sport where I grew up in Texas so I can understand the frustration of having little infrastructure in place when you would really like to have it.

Well, I finally decided to take on a new car payment and sold my beloved F150 and bought a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.  As soon as I get my cash for selling my pickup, I'll be adding some black rims and All Terrain tires to the Jeep.  I'd like to go with some hard core mud terrain tires, but I won't be off road every day, so ATs will do.  I'm planning to add a cargo rack, cold air induction, front bumper with grill guard and possibly a winch. Anyway, here's what I'm rolling in for now.

2008 model with only 29000 on it.

My wife and I are finally getting to renovations inside the house.

I must say that we have been in our house for five years now and have done almost nothing, except for repaint the dining room and kitchen and fix up my daughter's room.  We have slapped some paint through our living room but it still honestly looks like crap.  We've been spending all our extra money paying off stuff so we are just about to the point we can renovate without having to go into debt.  Woohoo!!!  Yea us!!!

We finally got our bedroom colors together and bought paint, bedding, and lamps.  Next week we will paint the bedroom white with a blue accent wall.  With all of the new furniture we have, that should make the room look really good until we take out a sliding glass door that used to be the door to the porch from the master bedroom.  The previous owner enclosed the porch to make a sunroom, that I've since repainted, put down padded flooring and made it into my daughter's playroom (of course it was my weight room before she was born).

After we finish the bedroom, we are repainting the living room, taking out a half french door that opens into the playroom and possibly building an arch there.  Then we will install some recessed lighting, rebuild that window valance at the front of the room, repaint the walls (including brick), new mantle, and that should just about finish out that room.  Once that is finished, we get to install new carpet throughout the house.  But, that looks to be a little into the future as we don't want to charge this crap up on the credit cards.

Good read on explaining the personalities and thought process between the two main contributors to the Constitutional Convention, why it happened, and the end result.

I thought it was great and had a much better plot than the second.  Very true about the explosions, but all in all I loved the movie and was glad I went to see it.

I'm finished with my current masters class and don't start another for about 5 weeks so I'm going to get some leisure reading done.  I'm almost finished with what's below but don't know what I'm going to start next.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A thread about concerts.

Might as well bump this up.

I went to see Motley Crue about a week ago when they were here in Dallas.  All I can say is the concert was bad ass.  It was funny seeing the people there who are still lost in the 80's.  I'm not talking about the music, but the way they dressed.  It wasn't just mock dressing, but truly what they wear.

Anyhow, the Crue was awesome!!  I was a bit disappointed Mars didn't do a guitar solo, but the crowd was rocking, the fireworks were great and it was good to hear my all time favorite band tearing up the stage.

I agree.  However, he did have a couple of funny moments this week.

"Wow, he's running at an all out sprint."

"Can you tell me how long this is going to take?  I've got some decisions to make."

The Army and Vietnam.  It's for my masters and I've already read it once for another course, but it's still a good read to understanding some of the Army's blunders at the direction of the "whiz kids" of the Johnson administration.  It goes into fantastic detail from the French defeat at Dien Bien Phu to the US withdrawal in 1973 and covers a lot of the strategic plans for Special Forces that were later replaced by regular army forces and ultimately destroying what the SF guys had done.

Paul, what's the acceleration like?  I know its got a small motor, but can you jam the peddle and get some kick to it?  Part of me wants to wait for the 2012 model with the pentastar 280hp motor.  But I don't like buying new cars.  Like you, I only have a five mile roundtrip ride to work.
