You guys keep saying "Rapture".  Do you mean Raptor?  The dude that was an accountant or something like that and dressed up as a hawk with a winged-cape and bird hood, right?  Not one of GI Joes finer bad guys.  :D

That looks sweet!  Just like the Star Wars Evolution packs.  So are they going to do this for more characters?  I showed my son this pic and he definately wants the animated BB now.  He has the movie one and the black one that we just bought, but he doesn't recognize the vintage one, so we would probably wait until the single animated characters come out this fall.

The deluxe figures have been $6.99 at Target for some time now.

Nothing new to report, I just noticed that my local Target has the deluxe figs marked back up to $9.99 again.  The $6.99 seemed to be a one week deal at my stores.  Glad that we picked up two of them when we did.  So maybe they were marked down "for some time" at areas around the US, but not in my neck of the woods.  Back up in price again.  Bummer.  :-[

I don't quite understand your question, but here is the current pricing for TF movie figs:

Sorry if I was making that confusing.  I had no idea that the movie figures were broken down into groups; scouts, deluxe, voyager and leader.  Try to understand from a "layman" p.o.v. who doesn't collect this line of toys and never have until my 5 year old started wanting them just this past year.  So, I guess what I meant by "movie figures" where what you guys would call the "deluxe" figures.  Again, I apologize for being somewhat of a novice at this.  :-\  Thanks for the info.

Are the deluxe the same as the movie figures?  I guess I don't know the technical terms for them.
I don't frequent the toy sections in department stores regularly.  The last time I checked on them a few weeks back, they were still $9.99 in my neck of the woods, so I was a little excited about a $3 markdown.  I apologize if this is old news for most of you.

Looks like you were right, the movie TFs seem to be going on clearance at Target.  They are marked down to $6.99 from $9.99.  I don't know if it is just this week or they are going to keep going down until they get rid of them.  They sure aren't stocking them, but since they are outty in June, that would make sense.  My son got a black Bumblebee and a Stockade for around $15.

Hope that helps

Yes, thanks for the link.  I was checking it out.  Some neat stuff there.

BTW, what is the "MP Grimlock"?  Sorry, I'm not familiar with the initial/terminology on the Transformer line.
Also, what is the Premium Bumblebee?  I was looking it up, is it the one with his battlehelmet-thing on?

Finally, I picked up that free animated Transformers comic for my son this week that came out last week on Free Comic Book Day.  Also bought the sequel to the movie this week; "The Reign of Starscream".  It looks like it will be multi-parts.  Going to start reading them both to my son at bed time.  He can't wait.

So, I checked on that Grimlock that I was talking about.  It is $24.99, production date 2006 (not 1996 like I posted), in a box-type package, and it has one of those flaps on the front that show the two "modes" of Grimlock.  Is this a good toy to buy and if so, is this a good price to purchase him at?  If the newer version coming out this year is $5 less, I might wait until then, but since it is an animated version, I might consider this version instead.  I don't know if my son will like the animated version.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jeff

The movie figures will all be gone by June when Hasbro starts up the Animated line.  hint - clearance     Most Targets already have the deluxes "on sale" for $6.99 so that's not a bad deal.

June?  Yikes!  No wonder I've noticed that Target hasn't been restocking these, or so it seems.  Makes sense now.

You're in luck!  There is an animated version of Grimlock coming out and he will be priced at $20...If the $25 version you were reffering to was a G1 toy - then that was an excellent deal...

As for the G1 toy, I don't believe so.  I thought that I saw a production date on the box for 1996.  Could that be correct?  My wife and I bought our son a construction Transformer (forgot the name) about 2 years ago from TRU with a similar look in the packaging.  Was there a more recent released Grimlock?  As for the animated version, we may just wait until they release the new version.  If they release the whole group of Dinobots, that would be way cool.

Thanks iFett!   :)

Two questions for you guys.  I might have mentioned before, but my 5 1/2 year old son is really into the movie Transformers.   He doesn't know any of the old school characters from the 80's besides the ones from the movie, obviously (Prime, Bumblebee, etc.)  Anyways, my first question is, are they going to stop producing the movie toys now that it (the movie) has come and gone?  Or have you heard if they will continue with this line?

Second question, the thing that my son likes even more than Transformers is dinosaurs.  So obviously he is in love with the Dinobots since he saw them on the cartoon.  Do you guys know or have you heard if they will be coming out with any new Dinobot figures this year, specifically Grimlock?  If so, will they be the cartoon version, not like it matters.  I don't keep up with all of the news coming out at the cons or toy fairs, usually just Star Wars or GI Joe news, so I haven't heard either way.   I have a chance to buy him a Grimlock for his birthday from a few years back for $25, this seems kind of steep and if they are coming out with a new version, I can just wait.

You guys seem to know your stuff here, so I figured that I would ask you if you know off-hand.

Thanks,
Jeff

Who (or what) is Wraith?

Wraith was a character who (forgot his name) had a hi-tech super suit that made him invisible and extra powerful.  He was hired by Cobra for an assignment (again, I forgot).  Later, Cobra Commander had him try to kill the Baroness (her plane exploded and was assumed dead about a year ago).  Anyways, that didn't sit too well with her and she hunted him down and off'ed him.  I think he threatened her (and Destro's) new born baby or something.  That p***ed her off more and she whacked him.  Man, I completely forgot the storyline, but I think you get the idea.

Note to self: Go back and re-read past issues before trying to explain them to someone.  :P

Hey Paul,

I got the "silent" issue that you sent me.  Thank you very much!  :)  Boy, they kind of butchered a classic comic.  It's the exact same story, but done in different art.  Kind of a waste of time if you ask me.  I would've thought that Hama or whoever would've denied something like that.  Guess I was wrong.  Oh well.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thank you DoctorPadawan for those links.  I will check them out.  We basically just want them so my son can make a check list of the ones that he wants to save up for in the future.

Secondly, the animated TF show is really kind of lame.  Even though I am a child of the 80's (born in 70'), I was more of a GI Joe fan than a TF fan.  So it's hard for me to compare.  My son and I recently watched the remastered TF movie from the 80's.  Kind of hard to enjoy since I wasn't into them back then.  Anyways, even though Daniel (my son) loves the movie figures, the show tends to bore him as well.
Dinosaur King on the other hand...... :D

The comic was terrible, you are not missing anything - period.

Did it have anything remotely to do with the Marvel comics storyline at all, or was it that terrible that I'm really not missining anything?

Transformer question.

My 5 year old son is BIG TIME into the movie Transformers and we want to keep up to date with what new "guys" are coming out.  We were recently at a WalMart and saw a bunch of the new WalMart Exclusive figures (Jolt, Big Daddy, etc.).  He bought himself (yes, he gets an allowence at 5 yrs old  ::) ) the yellow jet (forgot the name).  Anyways, without doing any kind of archival romping through this thread, can you tell me off-hand any good sites, forums, etc. that we might see what new stuff is coming out?  He likes pictures of the TFs so we can see what they look like.

I know that the Toy Fair was recently and JD had some great pics of stuff coming out.  He is looking forward to the animated Transformers now.  Is there a list of TFs for these coming out this year as well?

Thanks for any help.

Jeff
