A local Target had GI Joe Comic Packs and Jet Vehicles at 75% off on their clearance end-caps.  Comic packs for 3 something and vehicles for 6 something - nice prices for those that collect the line.

I saw the same reduction here as well.

Also ... I broke down and bought Destro, Storm Shadow, and Snake Eyes from the ROC line.  Ugh.

Soundwave sounded more like the bad dude from Inspector Gadget - same guy?

Frank Welker voiced Soundwave in the G1 cartoon and he also voiced him in the film.  Welker also voiced Dr. Claw in the Inspector Gadget cartoon.

$60.6 million for its first day.  Not bad.

I saw it last night (in DLP) and I enjoyed it.  The effects and sound were amazing.
I can see where some of the criticisms come from, but they didn't bother me.  The movie is big, loud, overwhelming, and most of all ... fun.

Well ... seeing the movie last night did its job.  I went out and picked up Skids and Mudflap this morning at the Wal-Mart sale.

Reviewers seem to be having more fun coming up with descriptive bashing (frequently involving household appliances) than they did actually watching the film.

I especially liked this one from Roger Ebert:

"If you want to save yourself the ticket price, go into the kitchen, cue up a male choir singing the music of hell, and get a kid to start banging pots and pans together. Then close your eyes and use your imagination."

Don't forget that you have Al Jeffereson, who is one of the best young big men in the league.  I know that he has to recover from a torn ACL, but reports say that he's ahead of schedule.

Oddly enough, I noticed that about her thumbs awhile ago.  I believe it was the first time that I saw Transformers in the theater.  The scene where she's clutching the steering wheel of the tow truck and leaning her head against it.  Yeah ... it's pretty noticeable there.
Not that I care.

Just stopped by Target and everything GI Joe that is not Combat Heroes is on clearance at 30% off.  Finally caved and bought the Cobra 5pack and a few extra troopers.  That $5 price made it easy.

Yeah ... I saw the same thing here (except that it was 50% off).  But, another Target that I went to today didn't have anything on clearance, so ... results will vary.

I noticed today that Target is actually about $1 cheaper than WM on most of their TF stuff.  I thought that was interesting because normally it's the other way around.

   E...

Really?  Not around here.  The Deluxes, Voyagers, and Leaders are $11.99, $21.99, and $44.99 respectively at Target ... and $11.88, $21.88, and $44.88 at Wal-Mart.  So, they're pretty much the same, but Wal-Mart is a bit cheaper.

A local Target had all of their ROTF **** on the pegs this morning.  I guess they aren't concerned with the street date.

I picked up Red Hulk, Moon Knight, and Union Jack this morning at Target.  A fellow collector grabbed Hobgoblin and Blade.

I believe the cancer lady was what she appeared to be...someone linked to the science organization working on using human parts to help people with terminal diseases...her company either purchased or was bought out by Cyberdyne.  Her appearance as Skynet, was just a way for Marcus's human half to identify with Skynet...I don't think it was the intention for her to be Skynet or a T-1000.

I agree.  I believe that Skynet (as Helena Bonham Carter) even says something to this effect while speaking to Marcus.

By the way ... Richard's answer to the question about what resides in the shadow of the statue:

"He who will protect/save us all.”
