Gentle Giant / Re: Gentle Giant Jumbo Vintage Chewbacca

In the vintage line 3 3/4 inches and 12 inches Chewbacca used the same sculpt for the body (in different sizes), only the larger wookie got a removable bandolier.

Han Solo looks a bit brighter than the original 3 3/4 inches figure, matbe for the polish of the sculpt.

Looks like the vynil cape is more flexible than the original from 3 3/4 inches version.

vintage 12 inches Vader was a different mold. It announced the new era lightsaber (cilindric weapon)

The Vintage Collection / Re: TVC will fail...

For the OT collectors it would be nice if Hasbro check the various rumors list from past years
A long waited Ot figure would be the emperor royal guard in SA.

Perhaps Hasbro will use more waves for Pt action figures while clone wars show is building background for some secondary characters like some senators, officers, aliens.

Itīs amazing how the radar laser cannon has evolved
of course the atst driver guy.

In a eu where troopers are showing variations, perhaps considering the cold weather, the atst driver from hoth could have been dressed more like a atat driver (as in vintage cardfronts), this is up to Hasbro to define this variation.

This packs suggest potj fx7 is the last evolution of the character up to these days.

Perhaps Hasbro could have release a battle pack of these 3 imperials: at at driver, tie fighter and snowtrooper.

The vintage version of Chewbacca has a well definition of his fur, without too much volume impression like the votc one.
I remember some marvel star wars comic issues spotted Chewie like the vintage action figure, it happened until rotj, when they chose to depict him in a more furry way. (in the comic pannels)

When I was a kid I wondered why Dengar got yellow face, cause heīs white
Now I notice that the buttons on his mask are omitted on the tvc version.

The vintage face has a rude, more aggressive look than the tvc, which is a more neutral expression, but looks clever and in a way he is watching his foe or prey moves.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Realistic/Movie Style Clone Wars figures
« on: October 22, 2010, 11:44 PM »
This announced release should be considered the ultimate evolution of Clone Wars animated series
They should avoid very thin limbs, the lack of color on the soles of clone troopers, the wide faces of some figures.
Perhaps many of them would be retools from tlc or tvc releases with the updated paintjobs.

I would like to see Sote characters in the tvc: Dash Rendar, Guri, Leebo. Also Jaxxon the rabbit like guy

Wedge from snoswspeeder would be a great asset for the collection too.

Also waiting for a nice evolution of Hoth Luke; perhaps with face mask, removable hat, working holster.

Toryn Farr is a very long waited character, itīs time they make her.

Perhaps from the reference of the cardfront photo, Hasbro could build a variant. Mechanic Leia with googles, the tools and without gloves.

« on: October 22, 2010, 07:03 PM »
I agree, perhaps a tinner and longer stick for a better likeness of the sensorscope.

As votc r2 is his current evolution, he has got better definition, a more shaped body and his third leg
what we must be respected always will be to keep his blue and gray parts always painted on the white torso.

Vintage Dengar has a comic style scar, while the tvc version shows it softened
Similar cases  in the collection were the removable helmet Vaders, which spotted thick, well marked scars at first to soften them as single lines in the evolution versions.

No necessarily a scar must be painted, but when not it could give a impression of unfinished job.

Other cases: evo Boba Fett and his next releases (like legacy version)
Hoth Luke from saga, and then his commemorative tin version.

« on: October 22, 2010, 12:14 AM »
Perhaps on vintage time the packs with straps were weak and broke suddenly when putting on and off several times.

I agree, and I donīt consider the legacy guy the commander. We have another representation, the vintage rebel commander took part on the portrait of the atat, some mini rigs, tauntaun. He also appaeared on Marvel Star Wars comics.

Collect All 92! / Re: Imperial Stormtrooper (Hoth Battle Gear)
« on: October 22, 2010, 12:03 AM »
As a difference between rebel soldiers and snowtroopers, the former tend to wear boots with shinguards (not all, cause we see some in the Hoth corridor with plain boot) and the latter wear shorter boots to combine them with shin guards and knee caps.

Vintage molds prefer the long gloves, the case for snowtrooper included the presence of forearm pads attached to the gloves. So in the evolution of this toy, the character got his short glove and the pieces that protect his forearms.
