JD Sports Forum! / Re: Steroids in Sports
« on: March 25, 2009, 11:43 AM »
I didn't read through the thread but I sometmes feel like i am the only one who doesnt care if they take steroids. I find baseball boring and if it takes steroids to hit massive homeruns...so be it. I dont think its that big of a deal .

I tend to agree.  If these guys want to destroy their bodies to make more money, I say "go for it".  I know that some people complain about the sanctity of the game and the hallowed records that are being broken.  If that's the main concern, then just put an asterisk on the entire Steroid Era.  Let there be two sets of records.

Didn't they do something similar with LOTR?

Yes ... all three of the LOTR movies were released in December.

Would have picked up South Park Season 12 but I'll wait on that one since I spent enough as it is.

I wasn't as strong as you.  I grabbed it on Blu-ray today.

Plan on getting Wolverine, Daredevil, Spidey too.  Maybe a few others.

In case you didn't know, that Wolverine is from the X-Men Origins: Wolverine line ... not the Marvel Universe line.  I actually like the Wolverines from that line better than the one in the MU line.
I'd also recommend picking up the Hulk figure, if you have any interest in the character.  The figure is huge.

I sure didn't expect that much porking and full frontal blue dong at 10:45am but I didn't mind it. But I'm sure the husband and wife with their 2 small (under 12) kids were taken aback by it.

Too bad for them.  That's why you don't take kids into R-rated movies.

The fans, more than anything Lucas (or, since this is a collecting site, Hasbro or any other license holder) has done, ruin these films and this hobby for me.  I love the SW films and many of the toys and collectibles out there, but spend 20 minutes on, specifically, the otheR Site's forums and not only does it inspire homicidal rage, but also sours my opinion of this entire universe.

Great shootout between Wade and LeBron last night.  I'm still pissed about the outcome because the Heat had that game won, but what can you do?  LeBron has teammates that respond when he needs them, and for the most part, Wade doesn't.  Ah, the joys of a young team.  Regardless, it was still fun to watch them play against each other.

In the last couple of days, I've picked up the yellow and blue Wolverine from the X-Men:  Origins line and Wolverine, Spider-Man, and the Hulk from the MU line.

Check TRU as well.  I picked up the Prime and Megatron Muggs at a local TRU on Friday.

Speaking of Marvel-related figures, I picked up the X-Men Origins:  Wolverine Deadpool figure last night at TRU.  He's not quite as good as the ML Deadpool (which was a masterpiece), but it's a great figure that will fit in quite well with the MU line.  The one issue I have with mine is that the swivel right below his hip on his right leg is ridiculously loose.  It pretty much spins around if you look at it, and it makes it difficult to stand the figure up.  I have a feeling we may run into this a lot in the 3 3/4" lines.

Friday's are Halo night. I might have to drop this from my viewing.  :P

You do know that there is technology now that allows you to record programs and watch them later, right?

Anyone watching the Lakers at Celtics today?  I'm curious as to how the Lake Show will perform in Boston.  Lakers then play in Cleveland on Sunday.  Can they hang with the beasts in the East?

I'm definitely intersted to see Kobe vs. LeBron on Sunday ... especially after what they both did to MSG this week.
