Discover the Force / Movie Heroes / Re: TPM Mid-Size Vehicles

I don't know what true cause is for all of Hasbro's issues with distribution lately, but it's beyond frustrating.  I think it's a combination of bad decisions on their part and an inability to figure out case rations/demand in the "new" economy.

I thought Hasbro's best work out of the last few years was the ROC stuff - I didn't have any trouble finding anything except the "cancelled" mini vehicles at the tail end of the line.  There was a lot of variety in the line too (which is something they just can't seem to want to do with the Super Hero lines).

But given the actual movie reference material, they had around 50 or so basic figures, which is outstanding... the only issues I had was there were so many versions of Storm Shadown... and not a figure of the president, and hell, why not make a Secret Service agent?  Wouldn't that have rocked?  And maybe Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow as kids?  Wow, that would have been outstanding.  I'd have been all for Scarlett with her motorcycle too.

But overall, the ROC line had some really cool stuff in it.  Just a lot of the first wave or so was overproduced.  I don't think demand was there either as so much hit clearance, but the line was far, far better than anything from Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, etc.

The Crimson Guard and Night Viper are great, I'm sure they'll find a way to squeeze those in.

That playset though is horrid, in my opinion.  Stuff like that fails.  Hasbro has completely forgotten how to make cool environments across all their lines.

It would be a fun display item, I would think... and a lot of people would probably want multiples.

The command console could have some sort electronic built in, to where you press a button, and it replays Han's conversation with the Imperial officer or something, and also a laser blast and an explosion sound.  That way Hasbro can get the "kid" factor in it.

I like Jesse's idea for if they did that, to keep the black outfits in basic cards and the gray one with the deluxe.

I think you guys are probably right.  I wanted that to be Destro.

He could end up being the next Wedge... but on this figure, it's an all new sculpt and a cool army builder.  Wedge was pretty much just a different head on an outdated Luke body.

I wish they'd release the Navy Trooper as part of a deluxe with a circular command console.

Maybe it is Firefly, I just was hoping for Destro because I don't see the zippers on the right shoulder of Firefly's jacket that we see in other preview shots and the head to me looks like it could go either way as whoever it is, is out of focus.  On any note, I hope it's Destro but I'm certainly not sure if it is or not.

I believe that is Destro walking toward Cobra Commander...?

After seeing the new trailer, I really hope we get a Zartan with an alternate head of the president.  They should have done that for the first film.

It also looked like it showed Destro in the preview... guessing they'll make him.

I'm hoping at some point they branch out to 3.75" scale.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: CHEWIE's customs updated 03.30.2012

Thanks for the nice words guys.  As for the paints, I use mostly Testors acrylics these days but still some Delta Ceramcoat from time to time (on those cheaper paints, with a broader spectrum of colors, you can mix Testors clear with them to make them more durable).

I'll have a lot more customs posted here pretty soon.

That's how I see it too.  I enjoy collecting/customizing and all that goes into it too much to just throw in the towel.
