Other Toy Lines / Re: Which is Your Favorite "Other Toy Line"?
« on: July 31, 2003, 07:00 PM »
Groovy Scott. I'm in no hurry.  Jim will vouch for that. :P

Yep, tis true. I've got stuff for him that's been sitting here for what, a couple months, that's just waiting for him to give me the word to send it up. But I'm in no hurry if he isn't. Right now, he has his own entire corner in my collection room. My room will seem so bare once it's gone.  ;)

And to answer what my favorite other toy line is, it would have to be the Simpsons also. I only collect Simpsons and Mcfarlane baseball sportspicks and as much as I like the baseball figs, I like Simpsons even more.

LEGO / Re: Mini Line-What do you think?

They've hit here at TRU but were all but gone by the time I was there. Found a lone Gunship yesterday and an MTT this morning at a different TRU. Passed on them both for now. I'll grab them when I can get them all at the same time.

Just got my box of all the newest Star Tours items from Matt, along with a few extra suprise goodies he added.  ;D  Packed great and arrived again sooner than expected. Thanks again Matt.

The Wookiee Arcade / Re: Knights of the Old Republic
« on: July 22, 2003, 02:20 PM »
I'm going thru it on the light side as well. But at some point, would like to play thru it on the dark side and see how all the different side quests play out differently and to see the different ending.

I won't spoil anything but there are some pretty cool things that will happen once you hit the second planet.  ;D

I too have it on the Xbox. Picked it up last Thursday and am enjoying it very much. One of the best games I've ever played, it's that good.

I'm about 17 hrs in and only on the second planet. It took me about 13hrs to finally get off the first planet. There was just so much to do and I was in no rush to plow thru the main story.

Jimmy, are you going for a dark side character or a light side character in your game?

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Jedi Points? Your Prediction
« on: July 18, 2003, 03:34 PM »
Well, the bad news is, as someone with only a couple hundred loose points, this pretty much leaves me with no chance to win any of these auctions.

The good news is (to me anyway) is that there doesn't seem to be any new exclusive items I'd be missing out on either.

All in all, this news does nothing for me really.

What if it turns out to be some kind of "rebate" of sorts. Like turn in 100 (or any amount) points and get sent a $5 coupon to be used towards any future Hasbro purchase. This way, you don't piss off the carded collectors because they don't miss out on a cool exclusive for lack of points to send in, and it will get people back in the store picking up more product to use these coupons on.

I know, probably very unlikely but as a carded collector who has at most a couple hundred points, I'd hate to see some awesome exclusive items that require 500 or even 1000 points to obtain.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: JediDefender Fantasy Football Anyone?
« on: July 16, 2003, 04:22 PM »
Put me down for the autopick too. I am in a fantasy baseball league thru yahoo and that is how we did our draft. Works very slick if you go thru ahead of time and make sure your preranked players are where you want them to be on your list.

It will also take no time at all to do it this way. It could have taken a while for all of us to be sitting there and deciding who we want to pick thru several rounds of this draft.

Plus, when it's done, it's cool to take a look at your team after the draft and see who all you ended up with.  8)

Unfortunately, I am aware of who they are.  ::)  I have a 5 yr old niece who used to watch them all the time and whenever I was over at my moms when my niece was there too, it was always on there.

There's something about them that gives me the creeps.

Announcements / Re: Other Toy Lines and You...New Forum Section?
« on: July 16, 2003, 04:08 PM »
I think it's a good idea. From someone who does collect a couple other lines, it would be easier if those threads were in their own section. Would keep them from being buried 2-3 pages back if no one posts in them for a couple days. It may also stop newer members, who aren't aware of them or who don't dig for them, from started up new threads over and over.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Cartoon Watchers?
« on: July 14, 2003, 07:02 PM »
I still watch the occassional cartoon. Hard not to now with the Cartoon Network and all. In addition to the norm like Simpsons, The Family Guy and SouthPark, I'll usually watch Futurama and GI Joe whenever they are on. And I'd still watch Beavis and Butthead if they were still on.  ;D

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Favorite Kind of music
« on: July 14, 2003, 06:55 PM »
I enjoy a pretty wide range of music but my main interest would be metal and most forms of it. I also enjoy a lot of alternative music as well. Country music would have to rank at the bottom of my list.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: Who's Your NFL Team?
« on: July 14, 2003, 06:39 PM »
Jim likes the Cowboys for some reason ::) ::) ??? ???

Yes, my reason being, growing up in a state with no pro teams to root for (Iowa) I had to look elsewhere for a team to follow. So I chose Dallas. Don't recall why I did but I've been a fan of there's ever since the early 80's. Loved the teams of old with Dorsett, Danny and Randy White, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, and of course, Coach Laundry. Ah, those were the days.

So I guess Jim just basically roots for whoever's coined "America's team" in each respective sport, huh?  Cowboy's, Braves...  That's one confused Minnesotan up there!   ::)

Again, growing up with no pro teams around, the Braves choice came from watching them back on TBS in the 80's where if you wanted to watch pro baseball, your choices were the Braves or the Cubs. I followed the Braves as that is what my grandparents liked watching and so I grew up watching them alot whenever I was over at their place and I was a huge Dale Murphy fan back in the early-mid 80's. Have loved them ever since. Very easy to stay a die hard fan when they win 11 straight division titles, going on 12.  8)  But I was due, they sucked in late 80's.  ;D

That's very cool!   :o  I wonder how many pieces are in that.

The person who built this is a member over at fbtb.net and he said it checks in at just over 10,000 pieces.  :o
