Yeah, that design would make for a much better animated figure than a realistic one. And since there is only an animated mold for the Tactical Droids, let's hope Hasbro stays true to their own words and does this on the cheap by tweaking an existing sculpt, rather than wasting all that money to do one in a realistic style that will inevitably look atrocious.

I don't understand the comment on the front page about getting a price adjustment from Target if you bought a Clone Wars Dropship recently...wouldn't that only apply if you had bought two?

So, blah blah blah whatever, NEW DROID GENERAL!!!!

NEW DROID GENERAL!

No, I didn't catch the name either, tried replaying it 2 or 3 times too. Something like "Calamity" or somesuch thing. I'm sure it will be something silly, but who cares? NEW DROID GENERAL!

I realize it's pointless to even get excited about new characters on the show anymore, even new characters who would make totally amazing action figures, like a NEW DROID GENERAL! But still...

NEW DROID GENERAL!

 ;D ;D ;D

Picked up my second Republic Dropship at a far flung Target today over lunch. That officially wraps up 2012 for me until the WolfPack Gift Set comes out. Seeing as how that is an online only exclusive though, I foresee a precipitous drop-off in my travels to Target, Kmart, TRU and Walmart the next few months.

Perfect timing with the coming holiday craziness. And yet sort of bizarre with the show just recently coming back, etc. Would have been nice if there would have been something they could have sprung on us for the last few months of the year.

what pack was this guy from?  http://www.ebay.com/itm/5x-Star-Wars-The-Clone-Wars-Clone-Trooper-loose-/390480565894?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item5aea749686

plus the seller has it listed wrong.  In the listing above he says you get "5x" but clearly he meant "1" because he has other auctions of the same figure for "5x" and has the correct picture and I am guessing the correct price.

Yeah, it looks to be an unpainted Echo. Interesting that they included the red eye deco on this version though. As opposed to the similar lot listed here, which actually is a five-pack:

I need to go back and check that BP, but I may pick one of those guys up, thanks for posting.

The Vintage Collection / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting?

You've been giving collectors almost everything they ever ask for short of Tonnika Sisters and Vlix...  What more can you do before you realize it's not the product.

Introducing Hasbro's Star Wars Action Figure Direct-to-Consumer Premium Subscription Service! For the discriminating collector!

Would not surprise me.

New TRU?  Didn't realize they were considering expansion beyond temp stores.  ???

Yeah, they closed both the standalone TRU that had been around since I was a kid along with the Babies R Us store and then consolidated both under the same space in a more shopping-robust part of town.

It's very impressive, totally clean, well organized, etc. We'll see how long that lasts. The overall square footage dwarfs the older store. Forgot to mention they also had two cases of the Malgus wave. Was really hoping for the Nom/Aayla or Shae/Starkiller waves...never seen any of those figures outside of Kithaba and Evazan. (Not the rare ones either)

We had a brand new TRU open up here today, and man, I have not been more excited walking into a toy store in a long time. I had all these high hopes of shelves bursting with all sorts of new SW swag.

It turned out to be a mixed bag. They had a nice complement of Speeder Bikes, Ewok & Pilot sets, and a couple cases of the TVC Lost Wave, which I had never seen before around here.

But nothing beyond Wave 2 for Clone Wars and no new Class I vehicles, which is what I really wanted.

No signage about the BOGOF sale either, and I didnt feel like loading up and getting to the cash register only to find out they weren't honoring that deal. Maybe I'll ask next time I go back.

Ah yes, you are 100% right, apologies.

I was thinking of the custom one that sold on eBay earlier this year for like $80.

Wonder if this is something that re-uses previous tooling or all-new. (In terms of upper torso)

Ugh, I finally saw these today in person. You guys are right, these are VERY hard to resist. They all looked very well done and we just had a new TRU open today with a huge selection. I managed to walk out without picking any up but I kept going back to look at them and it was not easy to pass.

Seems like a potentially long wait between waves if they have to wait for each movie to get released. If they could have just released Smaug now, or soon, that probably would have been too much for me to resist.

Other Toy Lines / Re: The Walking Dead

If anyone sees/hears anything out of NYCC in regards to this line, can you please post here?

Things have been really dead (pun intended) for quite awhile now. They've had a long time to get that Shane wave ready too.

Seems like they would want these on shelves now with the show premier this weekend.

To say the least. What is their aversion to showing new single carded figures?

GH reports today that the Naboo Starfighter will NOT be coming to a toy shelf near you in 2013, as per Hasbro.

Surprised? Outraged? Completely non-plussed?

I don't care about the ship personally, but this would really irk me if I had been waiting and waiting for this. It's absolutely the Mando Shuttle all over again.

Don't see why they couldn't just shunt these to Kojl's/TJ Maxx/ROSS/Marshall's for the holiday season.

I still don't get where the ones they actually made are sitting. I don't think etailers ever got this did they? Just a few Mom and Pop reports were all I've heard.

Bummer.
