I didn't go to any of the midnight madness sales, not sure if my city even did that except at the 24 hour walmart. But I might go this year.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS carded figures
« on: January 27, 2005, 03:50 PM »
And yes, this is the best PT line. I don't think I'll mind paying $6-7 each after all.  :)

no matter how good the line is, I'll mind paying that much considering figures for the past 2 years were only $4.99  :-\

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Ep3 Sneak Preview Vehicle
« on: January 27, 2005, 03:48 PM »
at least with the way the naboo starfighter was shown in ep1, the droid was pulled up and locked in the socket. I don't have the toy of it so I don't remember if the r2 was removable or not.  But it looked l ike it fit the entire droid vs obi's jedi starfighter in ep2 with just the head of the droid hard wired into the ship.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Title Crawl

it fits in well with the OT crawl, much better than the lame one for ep1.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS must have figures for you?
« on: January 27, 2005, 12:13 PM »
We have seen pictures for at least 32 figures now.   There are a few more from the Deluxe and/or other lines.  So far these are probably going to be must haves for me.

Chewbacca (I actually like the rage action feature)
Grievous Bodyguard
Grievous with 4 sabers
Emperor (Because of the lightsber)
Vader (I doubt I can pass him up)
Dooku (I am sure it will have the spoiler feature)
Bail Organa (I am looking forward to him)
Padme (Gotta get a pregnant Padme figure)
Agen Kolar (I don't have any Eeth Koth figures)
Taful (Looks great and it's a wookie!)
Aayla Secura (looks nicer than Saga one)
Yoda (Kind of debating but will probably get him)
Kenobi #27 (Looks great!)
Anakin #28 (again looks great!)
Luminara (again looks much better than Saga version)

I will most likely get some others but those I am looking forward to the most right now.  15 of 32.

I will be most interested in anakin/vader, obi-wan, clone troopers, various jedi, emperor, and maybe a ship or two.

Toy Reviews / WAlmart exclusive ANH figure pack
« on: November 17, 2004, 04:25 PM »
Picked up the wlamart ANH 4 figure dvd pack with Luke, obi-wan, R2 and C-3P0.
Now I'm not sure which waves these are from, so I'll just describe them as they are.
Luke is pretty good, not great but good enough for my kid. He has articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, waist, hips and knees.
The wasy his legs are posed, they are close together so it takes a little effort to get him to stand ok on his own.
His lightsaber as well as Obi-wans' had a clear rubber band holding them on. Luke can hold his lightsaber ineither hand. His paints are neat and no noticable mistakes are visible.  I give him 3 outta 5
Obi-Wan kenobi is an OK figure, not great. His pose is limited by his design. He has articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, and waist. He has a solid lower robe so his legs are not really posable. The paint job is fairly good, he has a slight dusty brown wash on his robes. He comes with both a lit lightsaber and unlit one that can attach to his belt.  Nothing special though, 2.5 outta five.
C-3P0 is pretty good though he has very minimal articulation. His finish is from the Tatooine encounter with the Sand People. He does have a removable left arm at the shoulder.  Only thing I don't like is his face: it's too narrow compared to the real version.  But overall I give him 3 outta 5.
Our favorite little droid R2-D2, is a good one. He has a nice clean finish, no paints 'Ooops' , has a nice shiney dome. The keeper is the retractable third leg so he can stand either on two or three legs. I give him 4.5 outta 5.

Toy Reviews / Dagobah R2-D2
« on: October 19, 2004, 04:53 PM »
Didn't see a review of this one, so hope it's not a duplicate.
This is one cool version of the droid. Got him for my kid so you know it's for playing with. The design is pretty good as far as the sculpting goes. The sound fx are fun, press and hold for the 'Scream' or press slightly for various R2 sounds. Very cool.
The mud wash is pretty extensive so he does look like he's been dumped in a swamp. Only minor critique is the soft rubber legs.
Over all I give him a 4 outta 5 stars.  :)

My ANH wish list includes:
Owen and Beru
Imperial officers Tagge, Motti and a new Tarkin
R5-D4
and not ONE but TWO Superarticulated C-3P0s;
I mean come on hasbro, 3P0 was actually a rather flexible droid.  He should have a ball socket head/neck, ball socket shoulders with removable left arm at the shoulder cuff; articulated right elbow or forearm and articulated wrists; then a ball socket stomach like deluxe Durge had. Then articulated hips and knees. Make one if the tatooine sand finish and one in the final ceremony polished finish.
Come on it can (and should) be done.  :)

Here's more info I found:
Hasbro Q& A At Comic-Con
Posted by Curto on July 23, 2004:

Like the title says, here are the highlights from the Q&A session at Comic-Con, in no particular order. Keep in mind the phrase "While we are always looking at possible releases, nothing is planned at this time."

RS Q & A coverage

Sorry Frank, but I think out of respect for RS, we should probably just link to their coverage of the Q & A, and not copy/paste the whole thing in here (so I added the link).

Hey, I've seen those pics and they do look cool, although I'm not totallly sold on the design. So I took it upon myself to create my own 'Fire' design and wondered how to post it. I can email it if that would be easier.  :)

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Jedi Council sets 3 & 4
« on: June 3, 2004, 12:16 PM »
I'll get these in a year when they go on sale, just like how I got the first two jedi council sets. kb had them for $8 each a couple months ago so I picked them up.  I like the council set and will eventually get them all ( I hope) eventhough some of the rehashed ep1 figs aren't in themselves intersting. But it'll be a nice display set.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Who's getting bored?
« on: June 3, 2004, 12:13 PM »
I'm not really bored with collecting and since i don't have anyof the figures being shown, it's just a matter of not having extra money. I do like the dvd package style mulitpacks, they look cool enough to display.
