This is what I did this morning (thanks for the inspiration) and it worked. I also left the store as though I had just slept with the Managers daughter, made eye contact with no-one and waited till I got to the car before celebrating...
Glad to inspire!
Its funny as i walked to the check out i stayed away from anyone who worked there and stayed away from anyone who looked like a manager.

I think they set up the packaging so that the back side to chnage the battery can be opened.

Wow, this is really tough. I dont know. I think my favorite part has to be soemthing i hated as a kid and didnt want for some reason. It would have to be eithe rmy MOC set of Droids and Ewoks or my POTF coins set. These are things i went back and got becuase i really wanted them and it was not easy, especially the coin set.

Ok well I got one I called up Target again today. Yesterday's response was we will not be putting them out until May 19th. Today I called got a girl who was nice enough to check the computer for me and said they had 1 case in the back. So i ran over to target and found some guy who looked like he had no idea was going on and gave him the DCPI # 087-061-489. He said they had them went in the back and after about 15 min. cam back with on ein his hand. I said thank you, avoided any managers I saw, and bought the figure. It was 12.99. Very cool indeed!

From what I got from the Q & A, this is the only way to get these figures.

I love the idea but after reading all these posts everywhere about no one buying them and not sending away for figures, I think once the time frame ends people are going to regret not getting them and want the figures.
