Revenge of the Sith / Re: Question on price for C3 Cader.
« on: February 20, 2005, 10:00 AM »
For the most part, I agree.  I don't think I could charge more than cost - like you said Dave, so many guys have helped me out at cost that it would feel wrong to charge more.

But on the other hand, I would understand if someone charged me an extra $5, but no more than that.  A little extra to cover costs is fine, but just a little.

Gentle Giant / Re: Bust Ups!
« on: February 20, 2005, 09:41 AM »
So, it looks like Toy Fair IS having another exclusive Bust-up this year - Boba Fett.  But before I get into a total panic, isn't that the same one that we've already seen that's coming out in the Bounty Hunter wave?  Or is there a difference to it (besides the packaging) that I'm not seeing?

Please tell me that it's the same...  Please.   :-\

Comparing the pics on the Scum, it appears to me that they are the exact same bust-up.  Boba is just repackaged for ToyFair, so I'd say it's safe to relax.   :)

Other Collectibles / Re: Sideshow 1/4 Statues?

Uh, I think I might have done something really stupid: I ordered the Darth Vader statue from Sideshow.

Heh, heh.  Yeah, I know.

It's such a gorgeous piece, I just couldn't resist.  And at 20" tall, this thing will certainly be the centrepiece of my collection.  Even electronics to light up!   :D

The only problem is how the hell do I justify this to my wife?   :-\  Oh well, it's not supposed to ship until the 3rd quarter of '05, so I've got time to come up with something.    ;D

(Sheesh, I pull this while I'm still trying to convince her that I/we should go to C3...)

I'm not sure, but i get the impression from the thickness of the press kit that both figures are there, one on each side.   ???

Feedback / i4imperial's feedback
« on: February 18, 2005, 12:26 PM »
I completed my first transaction with i4imperial today, and it was one of the best experiences I've had with a seller.

His communication was very thorough - his list was highly detailed for each figure so that I knew exactly what I was getting.  And his shipping was very secure - each loose figure was individually bagged with it's accessories.

Thanks Dan, we'll do business again!

I really enjoyed those pics!  You've got a knack with the camera, really zooming in to enjoy the details of your displays.   8)

Well, there it is. Meh.

Geez, it looks down right lame to me.  But it's tough to really judge it by this picture.  We'll see I guess, I hope I'm wrong.

My simple pleasure - a slurpee.  3/4 Coke, 1/4 Mountain Dew in a Gulp cup.  Simple as that.   :D

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Grilling and you-Charcoal, or Gas? What make?
« on: February 18, 2005, 02:23 AM »
Spring 2004 was very exciting for me and my wife because we finally got to buy a new BBQ.  We'd been using a hand-me-down grill that could barely stand anymore and the heat was completely unpredictable.  We both love to BBQ, so decided to go all out and bought a Weber like shown on their website (the 2004 model doesn't have doors below).  I don't know about you guys but I've got absolutely no use for the side burner that comes on a lot of BBQ's.

Like Scott said, charcoal really produces great flavouring, but I really don't have the patience to wait, so I've been really pleased with our choice of natural gas.  It still cooks beautifully and we never have to worry about running out of fuel like with propane tanks.  I usually cook my meat frozen, simply because I don't often plan things ahead of time.  A little marinating with Bullseye BBQ sauce, whether it be for beef or chicken or pork, they've got a nice flavour to compliment the meat.

We had a gorgeous day today, -5oC and sunny, grilled some pork chops on the patio.  Mmmm, mmm.  Me like meat.

At least it's on clearance.  Ours are loaded with em.  $79.99 plus 14% tax. ::)

What defines the US?  Patriotism.

What defines Canada?  Taxes.

Typical of FedEx, but I hate them less than UPS.

Oh no, don't say that.  My bust-ups are coming by UPS from AFX.  I can't imagine hating a courier more than FedEx, so we'll see.   :-\

See Dale, I told ya. :P

I saw that pharmacist comment the other day...  I did go to school for 4 years to find out how to mix drugs and alcohol you know.   ;D

I wish you folks would make your yakking stories a little more entertaining, and at least add some alcohol into the mix, or sumthin'...   ::)

Maybe a drink or two would help you Canucks feel a little better.  Give it a shot, eh.
