Watto's Junk Yard / Re: How's the weather?

Everytime I feel like complaining about the weather I just check the JD weather report and it brightens things up for me.  I believe the current temp is a balmy 20 (F).  It was about 0 (F) when I was up at 2:30 this morning, but that's not quite snoticle weather ;D

Matt, "Chicken Walker" was used by ILM crew for the AT-ST's...  Lucas used it too.  It doesn't appear in EU that I'm aware of, and honestly I've never cared for the term myself as I don't think they really look like chickens and stuff, but I guess the ILM guys called them that all the time.
A bit of a side note, but when my Wife and I were dating and we were watching all the movies, she used to ask what this ship was called, or what that guys name was, etc.  One of the models was the AT-ST, which I called a "Chicken Walker", due in part to how the legs are jointed, (I can't recall where I had read it, but I know other people have called it that, its not a Keonobism).  Well, when we were next at a Walmart (or Target or something) she made sure to point out the "Chicken Wing" LEGO kit.  I had to laugh, as she was clearly trying to impress me.

I think #1 needs to be focusing more on my two boys.  They are 7 months and 2.5, so they are at a very fun age.  Its just too easy to fall into a routine of watching TV, etc after work, and not getting on the floor and wrestling with them..

#2 Spend more quality time with my Wife.  With two kids under 3, and me working two jobs, we haven't had as much time as we like together.  It'd be good to go on a couple dates a month.

#3 Cut down on soda.  For a couple years I've been drinking entirely too much diet coke.

#4 Prioritze spending better.  Find those things that are going to make me happy and focusing on those items only.

Does that mean we should start referring to the "Chicken Walker" as an "Atst"?

My vote is A.T.A.T., but it sounds like the continuity dorks at LFL have decided its At-At if it was that way in a couple games...

Anyone get any of those Target 3-pack stocking stuffers?  I didn't get any until this week, once they were on clearance (I got the Luke/Yoda/R2 pack).  I think I want to look for the other ones, but I haven't seen them at the couple Targets I've been to.  Anyone seeing a lot of these in their neck of the woods.  I know they are all essentially repacks with little bits added, but still, I think they are kinda neat.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Figure Releases per Year
« on: December 30, 2008, 09:48 AM »
In line with the discussions about nearly $8 figures, as well as the huge volume of new releases that Hasbro is doing, I read in IIRC the last issue of SW Insider that Star Wars was the number one product line for all toys (boys, girls or preschool) this year.  So not only is Hasbro releasing a lot, and charging a lot for each unit (I know, the store gets a cut, as do the distributors, etc.), but they also have enormous demand for this product line.  I think the huge popularity of SW is what is driving the huge number of new releases.  But I'm no where near a completist, so I see that as a positive.  More time and energy on Hasbro's part to produce products I might want to buy.  Sure that means more things I can pass on, but also more things I might want.

No, I'm talking about the one with a black pauldron.  The only place I can recall posting a picture if the otheR Site.

If I recall correctly the only clean versions that made it to retail release in the US that were clean (no dirt) had either an Orange or White Pauldron.  This new Saga Legends release was expected last year, but due to miscommunication with the factory, the black version didn't make it into the 30AC line, and as a result was promised in the Legacy Collection Saga Legends.

First time I've seen him, and I haven't seen anyone else find him yet, though I'm sure some one can copy their post and insert it to make me look foolish (here's some space:)

But I found the Clean Sandtrooper w/ Black Pauldron at Target today.  That's the figure that Adam Pawlus (i think) got one of, but then was never released in the 30AC line.

TV-9D9 / Re: Star Wars: The Clone Wars Series Discussion Thread
« on: December 29, 2008, 12:08 PM »
So I'm about a month behind on the show, I'm catching up on the last three episodes this week.

Going back to the Duel of the Droids episode from November.  Anyone catch that Ahsoka cuts of Grevious' right hand, but that's the same (intact) right hand he uses to support himself when he jumps into his fighter?  I know its a little thing, just bugged me a bit.  Or maybe its a nod to all the little things like that in the OT :)  Though I was a bit confused, because the hand the falls to the ground only has 4 fingers, but I haven't gone back to check if his hands only have four fingers throughout (simplified animation perhaps, I know in ROTS he had 6 on each hand, which divided into three on each hand when his arms split...

Anyway, I've been trying to avoid spoilers, but I wanted to comment on that little thing.  Overall I love the series.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Vehicles: Do You Buy Them?
« on: December 29, 2008, 11:20 AM »
I've generally only collected the figures.  I think it was a price thing, I could either get a $20 ship, or a couple figures (time was you could get 4, and then three and now only two...).  So I never really spent much on the vehicles.

I was at a WM, that I don't usually frequent, yesterday and the shelves were pretty bare, with three exceptions.  They had about 6 each of Yarna, Breha (sp?) Organa and Juno Eclipse.  I thought it was kind of funny those were the only three they had.
