Looks okay so far.  The one question that I think is significant about the Avengers toy line is what scale will be the focus for the figure line:  3.75" like the current Captain America and Thor lines, or in the larger Marvel Legends scale?

And why would Anakin be packaged in that particular battle pack?  Hasbro hasn't been quite that arbitrary about the figure lineups that they completely disregard the story/episodes that they draw upon for battle pack lineups.

You had to figure that this might happen.

Hasbro has had some affinity for this squad dating back to the "Rookies" episode, and we've been getting some of these troops in dribs and drabs.  Echo, Fives and Hevy have all gotten to us a little bit at a time.  And there's also been the Sgt. Bric mailaway, El-Les and Shaak Ti from the Season 3 premiere.

I get the feeling that this figure might be part of a multipack and not necessarily packaged as a basic figure.  The first look we got at some of the "Brain Invaders" clones was through a similar Tunghori listing, but those are part of those WalMart exclusive 2-packs.  Plus, given the fact that we've already gotten Hevy as a single carded figure, I can't see Hasbro offering an almost identical Clone Trooper on a similar cardback with only a name change.  Maybe he'll get packed with 99?  Even though 99 was only featured in a couple of episodes, the character resonated with fans.

I had a Hot Dog from a Street Vendor the first year, Pizza at a Pizza place last time.... this year I don't have mapped out, but certainly some "toursity" "cliche" thing... Carnegie Deli?

If you want a good deli, I'd recommend Katz's, which is downtown on Houston Street (at Ludlow).  The place has been there since 1888, and it's a New York institution.  But it's not any kind of walking distance from the Javits center.

Finally found some new CW basic figures today at a Target store today:  shirtless Savage Opress, Commander Jet, cold weather Plo Koon, ARF Trooper (CW56) and the reissue of Hondo Ohnaka.

Those pallet displays are a cruel joke.  You see it from a distance and start hoping for some new figures.  But then you see the display and it's full of TVC wave 5 & 6, and NONE of TVC wave 7.  Granted, I've gotten a few AT-RT Rider clones in the past couple of days.  But some Rebel Fleet Troopers would be a lot better received.

The key offenders do seem to be these five:

-Cloud Car Pilot
-Dengar
-4-LOM
-Sandtrooper
-Episode III Clone Trooper

If these get out of general circulation it will definitely open things up for some new inventory to make it to the pegs.  And it also seems clear that Hasbro's ideas about troop building have to change in order to meet the new collector paradigm.  There have been a number of occassions when I've gone into stores and seen NOTHING but Sandtroopers, Episode II Clones and Episode III Clones.

I've heard Derryl DePriest say that it was too labor/cost intensive to unpackage an old figure in order to repurpose it for some other pack.  More likely I think these figures will turn up in places like TJ Maxx, in overseas markets or they'll be destroyed.

Congrats Greg!   Glad to see that one of the forum regulars won, and not one of the fly-by-nighters who popped in just for the Fan's Choice or the contest itself.

I watched through "The lost Rebels" cut scene on Youtube.  Hooboy.  Some of those Rebel pilots were just ABYSMALLY BAD.  The old lady had no sense of urgency about her at all.  The Sullustan and the Mon Calamari were the best of the bunch, and they were PUPPETS!

The Madine scene was cool, but I understand why it got cut.  It was too much like some of Ackbar's scenes on Home One.  Although I was disappointed that we didn't get to see him go batsh!t crazy like in the one still.

So on this topic of new Thor figures showing up....has anyone found the Loki with helmet, or King Laufey?

So I saw this in the store yesterday.  Honestly?

-The paint and deco on R2-D2 looks pretty good.  He's got some of the manipulator arms and the figure looks pretty awesome.  I'm not certain if this is an all new R2-D2 based on the cursory look at the figure in the package.

-The paint and deco on the X-Wing looks bland.  Some of the previous X-Wings have a much better weathered look about them.  This one looked pretty vanilla.  The new cockpit details look nice, but it doesn't put this version over the top for me.

I am still leaning much more towards NOT picking this set up.  The packaging is nice, but I get the sneaking suspicion that this X-Wing tool with the improved cockpit will be offered again in 2 years, and a newly tooled Vader TIE Fighter will probably happen within that time frame, too.

If ya find a Sif Nab one for me!   ;D

The first Sif I find is mine.  But if I can score an extra I'll offer it up here.  The fact that the wave with Sif is showing up is encouraging though.

I'm more concerned with whether or not Heimdall will ever show anywhere.

I've seen a couple of the new Thors that ship in the same case as Sif.  They're kind of silly, truth be told.  "Cosmic armor"?  I also found some of the other newer figures like Hogun, Fandral and the light up Destroyer.

The should have given the generic pilot a goatee to help further separate him from Ric "Widow's Peak" Olie.  :P

Does John Knoll really need a figure?

These shots look pretty good.  It's a tremendous move forward from the original Ric Olie sculpt.
