I guess they are in "played with" condition.
And if you read the report, they are loose and MISSING some accessories...and I bet there's no market for repros of those.
It was a small production run though, so I doubt the market will be flooded.

So as you all know KB is closing.  The one near me has everything 40%.  So Legacy figs are like $6 and the remaining 30AC are like $4 something.

When did they put in an outside in Las Vegas?  I didn't realize they had one of those.

We're supposed to get 7-14 inches of snow tomorrow (that's 18-36cm for the Canadians)

As some of you might have heard there were ice storms in the Northeast/New England late last week.  And as a result power got knocked out, including to traffic lights.  Now, I don't know if every state handles that situation the same way, but in NY if the signal isn't working you are supposed to treat the intersection like a four way stop sign.  Its really not that hard.  Instead we have all the idiots going 40 through intersections when they should be stopping, or if the person in front of them stops, and then goes, they go too.  Its really not that hard to not be an idiot...

Also people, when there is the slightest amount of snow/ice on the ground completely lose their limited ability to park within a single parking spot.  I'm not even talking about when there is 2 inches of packed ice, so the lines aren't visible, I'm talking about when the line is 90% visible....

Man I was sure that Dwight's toy would be recalled for lead paint, or he would have bought the wrong one or somethnig, so it would blow up in his face...  Dwight's been winning a lot lately, he's got Angela, he was right that Kelly conspired against him and his raise, he cornered the market on that toy...

I thought something was going to happen with Andy, he always seemed to be in the other room during this episode.  I was half expecting that he would be the one to end up in rehab for alcohol problems, he seemed to have a history...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Goodbye KB Toys
« on: December 11, 2008, 04:13 PM »
The mall just down the road from our house has a KB and a Kmart, not the best choices for toys really.  (There is a few Walmarts and Targets within about 20 miles so all is not lost.)

Still rather disappointing to see KB going away.  But the points mentioned above, old stock, high prices and a cramped shopping environment make for an unpleasant and often futile shopping experience.  I stopped into KB probably 2 dozen times over this fall, and I think the only time I bought anything was on black friday (I was there at about 2 am on my way to work), and that was to get 40% off a battlepack.  They just don't have newer items in stock, and when they have something, its easily 20% more than other stores.

Sad to see them go, but they did it to themselves, going for higher margin on each item, as opposed to accepting lower margin on higher sales.

Also, why was this practically the only store in the mall that every time you walked you were immediately asked if you needed help?  I get the employees were made to ask this, but come on, let me shop.  If I wander around for a minute, then ask for help, or if I was a 90 year old lady, maybe then, but as soon as I walk in, and when I'm clearly just chasing after my 2 year old?

Still, I'll have to keep an eye on the store down the road and see if I can get in on any liquidation sales (I got some good deals when Ames closed).

Other Collectibles / Re: Hasbro Mighty Muggs

Haven't seen that these would found by anyone on JD, but I saw that two faced Vader, Darth Revan, Hoth Han and Shirtless Maul this am at a Wal-Mart.  They were in a cart with some other various toys (it was during the time the section is stocked) so I'm thinking they were being restocked.  I really wanted to get them, but didn't have the money to do it, so I had to put them back.  :'(

In particular I wanted the Hoth Han and maybe the Revan.  I've got the first Maul and Vader, so those two are less exciting for me.  No sign of Tarkin or Plo Koon, and there were only those four, no where in the Star Wars section, or Marvel, or Indiana Jones section were there any other of the new MMs.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Comic Packs
« on: December 9, 2008, 03:24 PM »
A possible "Lt. 'Tank' Sunber" proto/test shot, and another Officer who I'm not familiar with just by looking at him.  I see some shared parts, not all being good ones, but at least they're actually articulated and will look cool in action poses.  Also, removable hats!  Can't beat that with a stick!

Head on our to our front page to check them out if you so desire.  I'm geeked to get a figure of "Tank", so it's nice to see he'll be a nice poseable army builder too, for the most part.
I can't recall his name, but is that other figure perhaps the General from To the Last Man (or whatever was the name of that comic where tank and an imperial column fight off Amanimen (sp?) ).  Anyway, that's my guess of who it is.

It appears to use some DS Trooper parts, look at the legs and the skirt, it screams TAC DST! They look pretty sweet. I jut wish LT. Sunbar was not dirty so he would blend in better to dioramas.

I have the perfect solution.  KMart.  They never have it in stock, you can't find it mixed in with all the other toys, its more than anywhere else and to top it off, its not like they have other stuff on the shelf, so you can still be happy you got something for your trip to the store.

The Legacy Collection / Re: The Return of Saga Legends
« on: December 5, 2008, 11:34 AM »
I also think some of their figure choices, year-in-and-year-out, are horrible...  I mean, Grievous shouldn't have been offered if you're offering the new one in Legacy...
This is pretty much true of all the figures in SL.  There is a C3PO, R2, Grevious, Clone Troopers, Anakin, ObiWan, Plo Koon, Windu, SBD and DD in the Clone Wars line.  And there are a couple of the other legends in the Legacy line.

I'd like it if SL was basically the most popular, hard to find figures from the previous year or so.  Right now I'm thinking Evo and Jump Troopers, Gree, Revan and Malak, the McQuarrie figs, etc.  But I guess that's the point of Greatest Hits, which is filling in a couple waves....

Wow.  That is amazing.  I've never seen anything like that.  That's an incredible design.  Is it typical for a Ketubah to be that intricate?

The Legacy Collection / Re: The Return of Saga Legends
« on: December 5, 2008, 09:58 AM »
Here was Hasbro thoughts when probed about the need for the SL subline:

Quote
Q2: I know a lot of collectors are becoming a more selective these days in their purchases considering the price hikes in most of the SW line coupled with the big ticket items like the Falcon and AT-TE. As a result, the repacks (Legends) were the first to go. Granted business is about making money, but would it be a cost savings from a packaging development/printing and figure production standpoint for Hasbro overall if this repack subline was dropped in favor of having the Legacy and Clone Wars line only? It might make the higher prices an easier pill to swallow for collectors.

A2: In fact, the impact of dropping Saga Legends would be the exact opposite! By being able to re-release our most popular figures for the kid audience, it allows us to maintain our focus on newness in the Legacy and Clone Wars lines. Our take on Saga Legends has always been that it is not for the core collector, since the figures in the lineup are unchanged from their previous release (with a very few exceptions such as the 501st upgrade figure). As such, collectors can "ignore" them if they choose and concentrate on the Legacy and Clone Wars lines. If MOC collectors feel "compelled" to get Saga Legends to keep their collections intact, then we are sorry for the burden, but then carded collectors are used to working against some fairly sizeable numbers as we continue to have success with the line.

Basically SL makes it so we can afford to keep basic figures under $9 and still have them be great like the new big Grevious.
