More kudos for John.  Super fast payment on some loose figs & great communicator.  Thanks for helping me clear out a few extra figures!

Thor and Cap a month apart?  That's interesting.  I'm sure Summer blockbusters are probably the best way to go, but seems like they could build more hype by releasing one of these near the Winter holidays to keep the hype going all year around.  Didn't they do something similar with LOTR?

Thanks for the feedback!  We had figures mysteriously marked down to $2.50 at retail at a local retailer for months while TAC DS Troopers and Stormtroopers were shipping, so that was a pretty nice solution to stocking up.  You can find pretty good army builder details in the classifieds on here or on Ebay.  I just paid $20 for 5 VTSC Stormtroopers shipped from someone, so that was just $4 each.

I do have "doll" stands for some of my 12", but not many.  They are so tightly packed that I rarely have trouble with them falling down.  I think Fett was napping that day because I was reworking part of my 12" display at the same time.   ;)

Not touching this topic with a 10 foot pole. ;D

Amen, brother.   ;)

Cutler and Broncos relationship goes from "bad to worse" after conference call.

The Vikings are waiting for the phone to ring Denver. Call!!!!!!!!

Um, I think the Vikes are supposed to call Cutler.  Maybe that's what went wrong with Houshmandzadeh.  Oh wait, you don't need an ace receiver with Berrian and his $16million contract out there.   ::)

Anyone get these yet or even notice that they are shipping?  It's been "in-stock" for a week now, and my order is still marked as "processing."  Card was charged a week ago, so this is pretty dissapointing.   >:(

HA!  Nicely done sir.

It is a little touchy in the "oh" dept when you step on it sometimes and the fact that it asks you if you've seen so and so and if it looks like they've lost weight is a little intruding.

If you're referring to the Death Star layout, every figure in there has a peg support.  You can shove the display pretty hard without losing any figures.  The black base I made has hundreds of holes drilled in it.  I then used the Ulterama pegs in various holes as one giant "stand" for all the figs.   ;)

I added a few more pictures of the custom base right here.
You can see all the holes I drilled - that process took hours.  You wouldn't think your hand and wrist could get sore from just repeated drilling, but I was ready to quit about a quarter of the way through.  Definitely works well now though!

I'll try to get a wider shot with the next round.  This display is surrounded by other displays on all 4 walls, so I don't have a lot of space to take a shot from.   :-\

Here's a few earlier shots for those asking about the base:

Mid-construction.  I drilled holes into a board to fit Ulteramma pegs, added a few coats of glossy spray paint, then cut the boarders from a few old poster frames to give the edges a finished look.

This is an earlier layout with wider view before I decided to add the shuttle.  I figured just placing figs in a "hanger" with various activities would look messy.

This is the shuttle layout with old Falcon and attempt to include the POTF2 DS playset.  You can't see it very well here, but that playset (around the corner to the right) is a lot of space without much use.  You can also catch my 12" Fett taking a nap in the background for some reason.   ???

Ooooh No...This is just like the Movie!  ;D  Awesome!

How long took you to collect that massive Collection!?  :o ... I meant just the imperials that you posted.

Congrats

Thanks guys!  Its mostly made up of TAC figures which I managed to pick up at $2.50 a piece, so didn't take too long to acquire.  The vintage playsets took a lot longer - I had the idea for this years ago.  Once I got those, I made the custom base with hundreds of peg holes for figures.  THAT took a solid weekend to complete.  I'm really liking how it turned out though - hopefully I'll have it finished off soon!

While the costume was amazing, I don't think the Thing ever looked big enough.  He was like Dwarf Thing.  Next time I hope he's CG.  Chiklis would be great as the voice, and Chris Evans was just about perfect as Johnny, but I don't think Mr. Fantastic of the Invisible Woman were all that well cast.  Neither had the gravitas to pull it off.  Not that I'll ever complain about watching Alba...

What are the chances they'll get Doom right?

Wow, I thought FF Casting was about as good as it can get.  Everyone seems to agree that Evans worked as Johnny.  I thought Chikles as The Thing was excellent as well. I’ve always thought of him as big and stocky, not tall.  He’s not very tall in the comics as I recall (i.e. he doesn’t seem to tower over the other characters), so I thought his size was appropriate.  Gruffodd isn’t my favorite actor, but Mr. Fantastic isn’t supposed to have a lot of personality and I think he looks spot on for the character.  Alba is probably the worst match of the four.  Sue never came across as a very strong character, though I’m not sure if that’s Alba’s fault or the script/directing.  She’s definitely easy on the eyes, but someone like Naomi watts seems like a better representation to me.

I’m really just happy to hear renewed interest in the franchise, but am a little worried that recasting would turn up worse results than what we’ve had so far.

Newsarama has posted that rumors are going around that Fox is looking to reboot both the Fantastic Four and Daredevil movie franchises with "darker" takes and all new casts/etc.

Like the idea of more FF, but I like the existing cast just fine.   :-\
