I can see this as a very strong possibility.  Clone Wars continues to outsell the collector oriented movie realistic figures in a big way.  Making Clone Wars characters available in the movie realistic line may breathe some life into that line and generate some crossover sales with PT and OT characters.

A rumor is starting to circulate that the Bespin Guard in the 9-pack may not be Utris M'toc as shown in the packaged version at C5.  And it may in fact be an homage to the original vintage Bespin Guard with the mustache.

But, there are plenty of photos of the back of the package which show Utris M'toc there, too.  Is it possible the package was only a mockup?  Certainly.  But sticking one retooled figure in with another 8 reissues is sure to be unpopular with the core collecting audience.

The Rebel Commando bears a striking resemblance to one of the folks at Hasbro.  And it's also very reminiscent of a previously released Endor Rebel in one of the collectible tin sets.  Hmmm.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Where to spend the Zombie Apocalypse?

You gotta stay mobile.  Hence my plan to find the nearest Unimog and commandeer it.

Add in a portable geni, dehumidifier (for fresh water), several cases of MRE's and an assortment of shotguns, rifles, pistols and ammunition and things should be just DANDY.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Ventress' Fanblade Fighter?

The Fanblade Fighter is fairly prominent in the new Clone Wars season 3 trailer.  And Asajj appears to be playing a larger role in this upcoming season.  So it seems that the vehicle might have a fighting chance.

Ah, that's better... Finally found a Jabba actually on the shelf. Snapped it up for an extra, since I want to try my hand at a repaint. Too bad about the price increase though.

This has to be the most neat and orderly WalMart toy section I have EVER seen.

Luminara probably does stand out as one of the really few but very cool ultra-posed figures from that era.  And for the purposes of the arena battle she really works.  Thankfully the ROTS figure makes up for the sins of 2002 with tons of articulation.

Looks interesting.  I vaguely remember this from the CW series, but it does have some cool features.  The variable geometry stabilizers are cool for one.  I'm always happy to get a vehicle with an astromech slot, too.  I'll definitely be buying one.

At the risk of harping on this... it'd be even smarter if they changed the head sculpt on the tech.

I agree.  Some variety with this kind of Rebel would be most welcome.

I never really got why the Hangar Tech & Transport were so highly sought after.  I understand some of the troop building value, but I also think that having dozens of these rebels and the transports would be somewhat overkill.  Especially considering the extras of Gold Leader and the R5 unit.  But then I heard recently about the outrageous prices that the battle pack has been selling for on the secondary market, and I can understand this re-release.

The funny thing is, I was able to find the original battle pack a good number of times.  I got at least a couple for myself, but I passed on it numerous times as well.

Shadows of the Dark Side / Re: TRU "Battle of Endor" Pilot 4-packs

Love, 'em, love 'em, love 'em. I hope there's some distinguishing deco's between the two TIE pilots.

I thought that the Y-wing pilot's outfit was the same as the A-wing pilot's though?

The TIE Pilots have different deco on their helmets.  You can see those in the packaged pics from the C5 floor.

The Y-Wing Pilots are in the grey flightsuits with the closed helmet.  And I think he has the bat logo on it, too.  This looks like what they were originally going for in that POTF2 Rebel Pilots Cinema Scene version of Arvel Crynyd.  But in that case these got a lot wrong.

According to JTA, the Geonosis Arena packs are still in the red packaging at the request of Target! Now that's a wow. Apparently Target wanted a uniform look to their exclusive, so that the packaging could also form a full circle.

There's more to it than just that.  These were originally scheduled to be released in May of this year.  That would have put their release before the change in the line look which started to transition in July.  But Target changed things up and wanted to hold the Arena 2-packs for a sale/promo event later this year.  It seems that the sets had already been produced and packaged, so they've been held for that promotion.

To Hasbro's credit, I'm actually kind of grateful that there are no truly new figures in this set.  There was a really easy opportunity for them to cash in here and they seem to have let it go.

There were a few opportunities for Hasbro to make some upgrades/changes to a few figures here, but they seem to have passed.  The obvious candidates seem to be the Bespin Guard, Lando and the Hoth Rebel.

Another alternate portrait Bespin Guard would be cool, but I don't want something like that to be the incentive to buy this 9-pack.  And the same goes for the Hoth Rebel Trooper.  I like the running change and as it stands I'm not totally enthused with the prospect of buying multiples of that figure to round out my Hoth Rebels.  And the VOTC Lando that's in this pack could definitely use some upgrades in articulation plus a removable cloak.

The AT-AT Driver and TIE Pilot definitely have their troop building uses.  But Hoth Han?  How many incarnations of that figure have we seen?  FX-7 is an awesome figure, but still a reissue.  And the Luke Skywalker figure just came out.  And 4-LOM?  There is such a thing as overkill.

Looks really cool.  But a complete pass.  Especially since it's got to cost at least $60.

I went back and re-viewed that last segment.  Here's what I was able to make out of the three 3-packs:

Set 1 - Bespin Guard, Lando Calrissian & Luke Skywalker
Set 2 - Han Solo (Hoth), Hoth Rebel Trooper & FX-7
Set 3 - 4-LOM, AT-AT Driver & TIE Fighter Pilot

Pretty cool lineup.  2 x Imperial Pilots, 1 x B-Wing pilot (red fightsuit), Grizz Frix, 1 x A-Wing pilot (green flightsuit), 1 x Y-Wing pilot (grey flightsuit) and 2 x astromechs.  I like it a lot.
