Other Toy Lines / Re: Star Trek
« on: November 21, 2008, 05:54 PM »
I have a bunch of rarer, 90's Star Trek figures.  Anyone interested in these?  I've been meaning to get a list together, but not sure what the market is like for ST these days...

ROTF Superion  Not sure why he's in that packaging, but it gives you a taste of what you'll be seeing in the toy aisles for the next few years.

Better size comparison of MP Grimmy He obviously dwarfs the G1 toy, but still doesn't look to be too tall compared to Classics Prime.  Oh well, he's still on my list.

I wish I could read the text around the pictures to know what the captions are.  Still not willing to pay this price, even for a Masterpiece.

The Legacy Collection / Re: TRU Exclusive Battlefront 2 Multipacks
« on: November 20, 2008, 11:02 PM »
I stopped at a TRU on my lunch and they didn't have these sets.  I had a coupon for 15% off any 1 item, but when I did the math all the prices came out to be WalMart's prices and since nothing screamed "buy me", I gave the coupon to someone looking at a big lego kit.

I think if these sets were $30 they would sell, at $40 they'll keep the Lars Homestead sets company.

I think even at $35 they would be tempting.  TRU's had lots of sales and the 15% off coupon, but $40 for an exclusive that cost less back when it was exclusive kind of makes me sick.

Looks like a clone trooper  :P

Great minds think alike.  And so do you!

I can't figure out how to link it, but there is a pic from the LA Auto show of a Honda concept called the FC Sport, MSN has a slide show of concept cars, its the 6th image.  Can anyone link it.
Anyway, it looks like the Helmet to a phase two clone trooper, head on.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Terminator the Series
« on: November 20, 2008, 01:55 PM »
I love this show which I initially thought would fail.  My only problem is that with with the future having been seen and created on one level, that there is now no way to change the past since the future can always go back and change the events that could destroy humanity.  We are beginning to see this take effect.  Plus the idea of multiple futures is going to create multiple pasts thus multiple timelines making the future very confusing on both the humans and machines.  Not sure what show (maybe History Channel or Discovery) that discussed this and the actual chance that this is possible. Really quite confusing if you are not an physic or astrophysic.

The entire show is an alternate timeline, at least from the T2 to T3 standpoint.  T4 is going to take place based on the events in T3.  SCC started between T2 and T3, and thus wiped out the T3 timeline when they jumped to the future.

Actually, it's my understanding that T3 may have zero impact on T4, since it's essentially a prequel to T1 (despite being in the future).  T4 takes place before anyone is ever sent back in time, so it would fit with chronology of T1 or the series, assuming the series does not avert Skynet from taking over.

I like the idea that the future is constantly changing as present events are changing...

You missed the best game from Sunday: Packers 37 - 3 over the Bears after Chicago had won 5 of the last 6.  Pretty nice day for the Green and Gold faithful.  ;D

Maybe you should try out for a job refereeing in the NFL.   ;D

Did you just refer to yourself in the second person while suggesting you could be an NFL ref?

I believe I was replying to Ruiner if you follow the thread before it.

You weren't kiddiing when you said you do the weird stuff!

Picked up the chase Captain Atom today. I had no intentions to but saw it on the pegs at TRU after getting angry at my Walmart for not searching the back for the Walmart wave even though the computer showed them in stock.  >:(

You have a Walmart that shows when product is in stock?   ???

after Chicago had won 5 of the last 6.

Four of their last six before the GB game.  They lost to Atlanta and Tennessee.

No dude, 5 of the last 6 against the Pack.   ;)

These 2 set were place on shelf at my local Targets this morning. Might be worth a trip to your store if you're wanting them.

Jay - did you find the actual sets or just the shelf tags for them?

Some great games again yesterday:

Giants: 9-1...team to beat in the NFC?  I'm a huge Giants fan so I may be a bit biased, but historically they don't even make the playoffs after winning the Superbowl so I'm stoked they are doing so well!

Denver vs Atlanta -- good game for the Broncos...not perfect but the San Diego loss puts them well up in the AFC West.  I'll be a bit surprised if they do not make the playoffs.

Steelers vs Chargers -- WTF?  Definitely an exciting game.

Cowboys vs Redskins -- good game and Romo did well after being gone the past few weeks.  It will be interesting on how much his broken pinky is a factor.  I'm glad they won because it widens the Giants' lead in the NFC East.

Also, is it me or is no one making that big a deal that the Titans are 10-0?  I'm glad because I've always liked Kerry Collins and to see a team he's on succeed is pretty cool.  I just remember last year when the Pats were what everyone's talking about.

You missed the best game from Sunday: Packers 37 - 3 over the Bears after Chicago had won 5 of the last 6.  Pretty nice day for the Green and Gold faithful.  ;D

What do people think about the No Touchdown - Touchdown! - Wait, not a Touchdown call at the end of the Steelers game?  I heard ont he radio today that the NFL now admits it should have been a TD, but they won't score it that way.  Apparently that call decided over $100 million in legal sports bets, since that was the difference between the Steelers making or not making the spread.  I lost a fantasy game because of it, but oh well.
