I finally saw this set in person last night.  And to be honest, I was more impressed with the Hoth Recon battle pack that was in the same case.  I'll eventually pick this pack up, but it isn't a priority for me.

On the Padme set, what are the head wrap and white gown that come as extra gear from?  Are they from some scene I don't remember?  The only head of the three that the head wrap fits on is the Geonosis one.  The gown looks like it is from Sentorial Leia.

The headwrap is definitely for Geonosis Padme.  And if you've seen some footage from Clone Wars there are some shots of Padme where she's wearing some kind of a headwrap.

As for the white gown?  My guess is that it's supposed to be the birthing gown for Padme in ROTS.

I saw the new NFL legends at retail a couple of days ago.  Notably Jack Lambert.  And on cardboard cardbacks.  What gives?

MarvelousNews has pics from the Hasbro booth of the 3 3/4" figures that are on display.  They don't look too bad to me.

Are you kidding?  The Hulk looks ridiculous.

I don't understand why they were "forced" to either move the price to $25 or exclude a fig to make it $20.  Some all-powerful being has decided that a 10% increase to $22 wouldn't be a strong enough margin play?   :-\

It could very well have to do with a couple of things:

-Hitting certain profit numbers.  Executives like to show growth in their numbers.  And sometimes they achieve that goal by cutting costs.

-Oil prices impacting production.  Higher oil prices will affect the cost of running a factory, the cost of the plastic itself, and transportation costs.

The potential interest from the casual buyer on this set might be downright tepid.  And I can see longterm collectors being turned off both by the price and the figures.  But Hasbro appears to be taking a chance here.  I'm curious to see how it will play out.

The clearance scam won't work with this, btw.  TRU takes their sweet time to clearance anything.  They've got more shelfspace to spare than the other retailers.  And even when they do clearance items, if they knock $10 off of this set I'd be surprised.  And I wouldn't expect a clearance anytime before Q4 of 2009.

The Legacy Collection / Re: The Big Vehicles - Did You Buy Them?

I bought an AT-TE that leaked out a bit early.  As for the BMF?  I'm holding off on the BMF.  I'm just working on a self-imposed budget, and the BMF tipped the scales that would put me over budget.  I'll probably pick one up in a few weeks.  The price seems to be deterring people from buying them.  I've seen more BMF's than AT-TE's at retail, btw.

This looks very well executed overall.  Great choice for the pilot, first of all.  And the accompanying astromech shows that some thought went into this.  The hanger tech looks solid, and even with this photo it looks pretty well articulated.  The hangar transport is easily one of the best battle pack accessories we've gotten.  I think it might even be a bit better than the Senate pod.

I like this set so much that I'd love to see a second version.  Maybe with a lineup like this:

-Y-Wing pilot with blue helmet markings
-astromech
-Commander Willard
-Hangar tech with directional wands
-Y-Wing ladder & X-Wing ladder

Hit three stores this morning.  As much as I wanted the big ticket items, I'm going to spread those purchases out.  Maybe try to score some coupons for those.

FIGURES
-Legacy wave 1 (all)
-Legacy wave 2 (Quarren, Mon Cal, IG Lancer, Saesee Tiin, Scuba Clone)
-Clone Wars - Captain Rex
-Exclusives - 2 Thires, 2 holo Grievous

EVOLUTIONS - Padme & Rebel Pilots 1
