Death Star Droid - the vintage one was either named or colored incorrectly, take your pick. The silver one was never a "death star" droid in the movie.

Rebel commander - technically, the vintage one was based on Derlin.

These are the two that stick out for me.

The vintage Death Star Droid, IMO, was covered by the RA-7 droid that was packed in with the Sandcrawler.  I think things got confused by the fact that it looks like Hasbro was trying to make that RA-7 look dirty, and it lost that silver/vac-metal appearance.

And I stand by my Derlin comment.  And I think the repainted Derlin that was in the Ultimate battle pack is closer to the deco of the vintage Rebel Commander.  However, having looked at the cardback it seems to show an officer in the all-white uniform, so I can understand the cause for a debate on this.

The Rebel Commander is really the only one that is really debatable from your list, Pete.  I think Major Derlin is an acceptable Rebel Commander, as is General McQuarrie.

I think the reason why the Battle Droid has been lacking in knee articulation has to do more with the feet of the droid than anything else.  You cite IG-88 as a great example of a rather thin droid that has great articulation.  But IG-88 has a good deal of stability because the feet are rather large.  Whereas the Battle Droid has relatively small feet, and because of that it has much less inherent stability.  Add in the fact that the Battle Droid is pretty much top-heavy, and it seems to be structurally unstable when balanced on those thin legs and small feet.  It might be a cool design as a CGI model in the movies, but at the 3.75 inch scale it doesn't seem to work that well.

I'm buying the Clone Wars stuff that is movie-realistic.  I am still not totally sold on the animated figures, and I've resigned myself to seeing the final product in my hands before buying a single animated figure.  As for the new vehicles?  I'm a lock for those.

I think the Tonnika sisters are definitely something the collecting community can get behind.  The fact that they're in the cantina scene certainly adds to their cache'.  But it seems like we've gotten so many conflicting answers from Hasbro and one of the actors that I don't know what to regard as the real deal.  And that makes me think that's how Hasbro wants it to be.  I think a decision got made about the Tonnika's between Hasbro and Lucas Licensing and they've decided to let confusion rule instead of giving us a straight answer.  And when you factor in the whole "Star Whores" nickname... that certainly doesn't help the cause.

I think that completing the vintage figure line is a cause worth getting behind.  We're pretty close to that mark now, and it seems like a realistic goal.  As long as people can agree about what's really done and what isn't done.

The retooled Slave I will fit 3 figures in the cockpit, albeit snugly.

I honestly don't know about a Death Star.  It's definitely one of the most iconic environments.  But would Hasbro possibly retread some ground that they've already covered?

These are the sections that I think would make for a comprehensive Death Star:
-Trash Compactor (already done as a screen scene)
-Light bridge (done in POTF2)
-Detention block (done in POTF2)
-tractor beam station
-turbolaser station
-blast doors
-docking bay
-command center

I think that most of those could be done in a multi-level playset.  Is it likely?  I don't know.  I think we need to see how well the new Falcon sells.  But I also don't think a docking bay would be feasible in that format.  That's where my own plan comes into play.

I think a Death Star docking bay might be cool on it's own.  And I think it can be done with a combination of plastic and cardboard pieces.  The cardboard can act as the floor and some of the wall segments, but the main wall anchors would be plastic pieces.  One being the blast door near the site of Vader and Obi-Wan's duel, another being the alcove where C-3PO and R2-D2 hide, and the third being a generic hangar wall.  And given the ability to fold the cardboard, it might be made big enough so that you can have a place to land the BMF Falcon.

I guess I'm not sure what makes him a "501st Trooper" since he looks like just a regular blue Clone Lieutenant to me... ???

Clone Wars director Dave Filloni addressed the change in the Clone Troopers in the newest web doc on the Official Site.  The look of these clones is supposed to be a transitional change from the phase I clones of EPISODE II to the more specialized clones with unit markings as seen in EPISODE III.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: TRU Midnight Madness - It's official!

Not sure if I'm going.  I may have to work that night.  And it might be a good thing anyway since there were some real meatheads at the last midnight madness I went to.  There's no need to act like a goon when you're buying toys.

Toryn Farr is apparently in the Hasbro "parking lot" according to the last set of Q&A's.  So she seems unlikely for this upcoming TESB wave.
