I think the Chirpa is pretty close, but that 1997 Wicket is entirely too big.

Yep, Thursday the 7th.

Our current plan will be to start drafting on August 12th.

I'm open to a live draft if everyone can get on the same page, but if we can't by then, that's the day we'll start.
We'll randomly pick a draft order a few days before that.

Jeremy is probably the biggest scumbag on staff there.  I brought the illegal DVD thing to PWise's attention, he's still working there and I am banned for doing absolutely nothing (I was never given a reason why other than guilt by being a FORMER JD Staff Member)

That's pretty freaking hilarious given that this is a quote of the Rebelscum General Forum Rules:

Illegal sales or other activity: We can not allow you to use our forums to distribute illegal goods. These include stolen or fake merchandise, or distributing copyrighted material in violation of U.S. copyright laws. If it goes against US law, we can not allow it.

Such posts will be deleted by a moderator. Such members are subject to having their account suspended by an administrator, as well as having the proper legal authorities contacted.

So from their own rules, Phillip should have banned Jeremy and turned him over to the F.B.I.

I can pretty safely promise you that Paul didn't pass on Gunners (both because I know he wouldn't do that and because he already told me about his score) - they just didn't have any.

Sounds reasonable...   but leaves some good ones out...

How about no older than OTC?  Leaves room for Commtech Stormies and Late Saga TIE Fighter Pilots.

I was just coming here to bump this up and restart the drafting conversation.  My thinking is that we should just start drafting here 3 or 4 weeks before kickoff of season one.

Unless someone wants to arbitrarily pick a day a week or two before the season starts and EVERYONE can commit to it - I don't want to haggle over a date for a week if at all possible.

I've got enough army builders that I can throw one into the pot.

Do we want to set any standards on what type of army builder?  I'd hate to get a 1996 fleet trooper or a bunch of old jawas when I win this thing.

(Although if your image worked, that picture might have made a compelling case for who could replace Carlin in the inevitable sequel.)

Fixed.

And for the record, Ernest Borgnine would be a much better Philip Wise.

Agreed.

Consider yourself lucky to get a Wilson at all - Owen's available and wants the part, but I get Justin Timberlake.

(which isn't that disappointing, but his Movie Career (is) Not As Successful As (his) Music.  )

The new section makes me want next year's line more and more!

We're ready for 2007, yet we're only 2 weeks past the half-way point of 2006...

Amazing.

Yeah, I've started to think that myself.  My confidence in this group is waning fast.  I wanted to add Morris to my team and was looking for a way to do that but was struggling over who to cut.  I immediately felt like cutting Glavine had been a mistake - and was thrilled to have him back.  The fact that none of you bothered putting a waiver claim on him should have let me know that I'd probably made the right move.

The worst part is, in the morning I checked the Yahoo! game preview page yesterday to see who on my team was starting and all, and Rogers wasn't listed as the Detroit starter... so I didn't do anything with him.  Needless to say, I'd intended on not satrting him this week - and I get saddled with a 12.00 +era and 2.00+ whip for him.

Chris Young was a beating I was going to take either way, I'd intended to start him.

Well my pitchers are healthy, and lately seem to be throwing with an era around 15.00

Except Halliday.  Arroyo, Young, Glavine, and Rogers are all getting slammed lately.

I am a part of all of the other sites. I just don't see how belonging here means I have to hate the other place to fit in. It shouldn't.

People don't hate Rebelscum to fit in here.  They hate it because of the way Phillip speaks to people, the over-moderating, and the abundance of idiocy from certain posters.

If none of those things bother you, then by all means, continue liking Rebelscum.

It doesn't make you less welcome here or anywhere else.

I don't think Rebelscum is "rotten to the core".  I think it's actually the reverse, where the core is the best part and it's surrounded by stuff that the experience folks know how to navigate around

The very core of the core is Phillip.  If you're vouching for him, that's your choice - but more and more people every day are going to disagree.

I never said Philip didn't help Dustin get elected.  Rebelscum pimped Dustin every day like a 2 dollar hooker.   I guess the big difference between me and the people complaining is I don't see how that's a crime.  The site he's worked at for years backed his campaign.  No big shocker there.

In the national political arena the little guy has no chance, and I consider that somewhat of a crime... only the well connected have any prayer of getting into the race - to represent the people who aren't well connected, whether they're the best for the job or not.

This was a great example, even if it was a microcosm) of that.

Given some of the face sculpts of late, that doesn't mean much.
